Thanks for sharing your experience. I have just completed my 2nd SMP session and went through the same emotional roller coaster as you did after each session. After each session the pigment looked really enhanced and made me feel really uncomfortable and self conscious to a point I even considered getting it lasered off. But by usually day 3/4 when it fades a little it makes it less noticeable and does start to look more natural and less dramatic. For those who are considering SMP keep in mind that this will be as much as a mental and emotional journey and find a good artists who understand what look you want.
Yep! I just had my first session 2 days ago but only the hairlin and I too was a little insecure about it I went around 3 of my female mates and they out the blue is telling me how sexy I am😂they think I just got a fresh cut! so I guess it’s not that Noticeable and if it is they don’t care because it still makes you look nice😄💯
Had my first session 11/28/2024. Im also having anxiety attacks because im not sure if i made the right choice:( I will say the person is reputable with a large portfolio. Maybe its just my anxiety taking over everything

FWIW your SMP looks legitimately awesome. I've been considering it for years and feel I'm close to taking the plunge. Like you, I'm cool with being bald but I see this as a way to enhance my look and feel a bit younger than I am. I also really felt that nostalgia moment watching Billy Zane. I often picture myself with smp and know it'll look dope but I have this pre-emptive feeling of regret that I'll lose my "bald" identity
Totally! I get what you mean. I think I'll be bald again in 10 or 20 years. I'll enjoy this period where I've got this 5 o'clock shadow but don't mind going back to what I was. I mean, the difference is relatively small anyway. And thanks for the kind words! Appreciate it. I have a horseshoe to. Does your bald spot show in the back still because it seems like your smp is very light which is what I want but I don’t want the bald spot to show in the back… and my hair density in the back is very dense where I might need to go darker
I’m thinking of doing. My situation was the same as yours with the outline. For some reason I would want to go to a guy that has had the procedure and knows what it’s like personally. I know anyone can train and do the job but there is something about someone who has done it personally and would know what emotions you will go through.
Your smp looks good! I got smp also I had 4 sessions and it came out great! When I looked up info I was told if somebody says they can do smp in 1 to 2 sessions it’s a red flag and if they do it fast is in 1 to 2 hours I shouldn’t do it! I think people shouldn’t care what others think it’s easy for me to say because I really never cared what other people think! I’m not bald I have hair I’m kinda losing the right side hairline, so I wouldn’t know how if feels to go bald however I always loved the short hair with a bald or number 1 on top with a razor fade with that said it looks 👍🏻

I had my first appointment a week ago. Everything seemed good as in hairline but after 7-8 days it's faded alot so hopefully the second session is going to make it look alot better

I’ve read about this happening to people after plastic surgery where they have depression because their mental self image doesn’t match what they see in the mirror. I went through the same stage as you "my friend" I was contacting my clini. Freaking out how it was looking days after my 1st session. I've had it now for 3 years. I wouldn't turn back time when I had hair. When I look back at photos of hair compared how I look now. It's night and day. I prefer my look. You will too 😊
Are you still happy with it? I just had it done yesterday, and I am stressed. It's good to hear that others freaked out, too. I contacted the artist who did mine and share photos asking if it was normal because it looks bad right now. He said it will be hardly noticeable in about a week when it sheds. I didn't appreciate how stressful this stage would be.

It took me a while getting used to it. I was always in the mirror looking at it etc and scared people would tell. Nobody has ever said anything to me to. I've been in all different kinds of lighting. You will like it and hate it at first until over the months if settles down and become lighter. I've had mine now for at least 3 years. The only time you can if I let my hair grown in for a couple of days it looks odd. Lol
At what day did u shampoo your hair and used mosturizer? Also when did u start exercising. It seems like every artist has its own time frames and aftercare. Lol

Very normal. It's meant to fade. The next few sessions will help you get more density and help them check how dark to go (considering how much it will fade). But also, don't go too dark! You don't want the other problem
Hey man cool video , I’m on my second session and after 5-6 days the skin starts to exfoliate and I worry it will take a lot of pigment with it ? till the skin in in process of exfoliating like my kid suggested it looks like dinosaur skin all cracked and rough 😂brutal !! . What do you suggest for that ? And do you wash your head in the shower or just splash water on it ,?
I think once you get to day 6 or so you can wash it and use a gentle shampoo. At that point, I don't think you'll have all the pigment drop off, enough healing should have happened for only the excess pigment to shed. It does look weird as it's shedding, I'd just let it shed and not worry about it. Maybe wear a hat for a few days though!
Best of luck! If you trust the artist, you should be ok. Just make sure you specify the type of hairline, colour, dot size and density you want. I brought examples to the session and that really helped.
@@jaydawg4732 I do trust him, there's always that thought of it going wrong though. It's called Joe SMP in Michigan if you are curious to see. He has great reviews so everything looks great to me. Definitely am going to stress the type of hairline I want. Want a natural one and a soft hairline. I'll update you after I get it !

No worries, I went with Foli Sim (artist was Nat). It was a pretty good job, will make a video with a higher res camera in the coming weeks so you can see it really close up
I too am afraid if I get it will people stare I mean people look at me weird now and I wear a hat. I got a wig once from hair club and it was Soo noticeable.
It's something I honestly worry about, as much as everyone tells me it's not noticeable at all. Like, I tell people and they ask me whether I've had it done yet. But I still worry. So, I'd really advise you to shave and not worry about SMP. It has made me think about this way more than I wanted to and I worry about how it looks pretty frequently. If you're anything like me, it's probably not a good idea.

Went to a reception today. Saw someone there. Knew the second I saw him that he had it done. You can 150% tell it's a tattoo on your head. That's just the truth. I told him it looked good. It didn't. What could I say. Save your money folks. It isn't cheap. And you would rather be seen as not having much hair than to try "fool" people that you have a full set of hair that you clip.

Yep, that's normal. After a week the excess pigment sheds and it softens. The next sessions will build more density

I don't think it matters. The colour of your hair doesn't change so it doesn't change much. Darker skin will make it look better though.

Very normal. It's meant to fade. The next few sessions will help you get more density and help them check how dark to go (considering how much it will fade). But also, don't go too dark! You don't want the other problem

It was special SMP ink. I'm pretty sure it's natural pigment rather than tattoo ink which doesn't break down as easy
