That's unfair. RBR strategists were apparently with McLaren strategists down the pub too ... and joined after the race by the rest of both teams trying to stop the short-term memories of the race becoming long-term memories.

Saw the race live my first time at a grandprix and it was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions mainly for mclaren fans and a decent race for a first time but overall a nice weekend

The McLaren radio drama really did a lot to hide a bunch of drama that happened in this race. Aside from the obvious Mad Max radio drama, we have one further back with AMR when Alonso gave Stroll his position to attempt a pass on Yuki, but when he cannot pass Yuki he behaved like an even bigger child than Lando by refusing to give Alonso back his P10 spot despite radio orders to do so. For the curious, Sir Lancelot is now just 2 points behind Yuki and the Hulk, so that 1 point kept him safe from falling out of P10.... for now. Daniel was pissed when the pits told him to box on his first stint.....WHILE RUNNING MEDIUMS.....AND NOT EVEN ON DOUBLE DIGIT LAPS. And after a pretty decent showing at Silverstone, especially for Logan, Williams messed up their pit strategy that even annoyed Albon who basically said that they were indecisive. And it also punted Logan down to the bottom.... despite setting the 2nd fastest lap in the race AHEAD OF VERSTAPPEN OF ALL PEOPLE. Also, a real bummer that Pierre got the short stick once more by retiring from the race. Alpain is really bombing it hard for the driver that is planning to remain with them for next season and beyond, while Ocon on his way out to Haas had a decent run despite the Q1 fiasco. And Sauber gotta Sauber. And with Binotto stepping in, and Seidl and Hoffman stepping out after Spa, the shakeup will be intense. And in the middle of all this firestorm, Charles had a pretty decent race, and a calm radio call from his engineer throughout to break up the monotony.
Let's be real, Max simracing to 3 AM had fuck all to do with anything. Multiple drivers past and present have stated over the years that they stay up late (2AM/3AM). Max is an adult and three time, soon to be four time, WDC. I think he knows what he can and cannot do. But, British media has found their new stick to bash Max over the head with.
I laughed at that, and the “wheel disconnect” for sim racers it was perfect, I think max was trying to convince the front of his car it was from 2021, on the way to turn 2, it just didn’t believe him Only second one of these I’ve watched Didn’t realise how funny this guys and his writing is Will be back for them all 😀
My first race was Silverstone in 2018 when Lewis got spun lap one and fought back for second place against Kimi and Vettel. That was one hell of a good race. Trying to make Vegas work this year but I’m trying. If not this year then next
