What a privilege it was for me (Zach) to take my mom on her first millers run downwind. My mom has always wanted to share in on my adventures however she has a great fear😳 of the open ocean.
As they say, "there's no time like the present," and before anyone knew it we were on the slip way ready to head out onto the ocean together. I have a great respect for my mom for surrendering and trusting in me to take her safely along the millers run course.☺️ The joy on my mom's face while surfing on the sea, was truly heart-warming and as her son I'm extremely proud of her. Her determination and spirit to complete this challenge shown through bright like a lighthouse.
A big thank you😁 must go to all our friends and family who came to see us launch and surf back onto the beach in Fish Hoek. It really made the occasion that much more special. This is just the first of many mom and son downwind paddles to come.
Mom. I love you with all my heart❤️. You have nurtured me into the young man I am today. To call you my mom is a blessing and one of life's greatest gifts to me.
