      You know we don't have cuttle fish here in Washington state so I have never fished for them. I would think jigs would work for those as well. Thanks for watching. Tight lines!

    Thanks for the video, I have been going to the edmonds pier for a while now and have been trying to figure out how people cast the bodies and get some of the more unique shapes.

    Great video! How do you paint these jigs brother? Do you spray paint them?

    • @ThePiscatorian360
      @ThePiscatorian360  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, I use protec powder coat on the weights.. basically, put the weight on a spinner wire bend the end of the wire so it doesnt fall off, then heat the lead up with a heat gun, and I dip them in powder coat.

    • @iamalemontree
      @iamalemontree หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ thanks brother! Do you put a first coat of color then put another coat of glow?

    • @ThePiscatorian360

      @iamalemontree usually doubled dip it

    • @iamalemontree
      @iamalemontree หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ThePiscatorian360thanks brother! I will try double dip next time, do you have to reheat after 1st dip?

    • @ThePiscatorian360
      @ThePiscatorian360  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on how warm the weight it. Sometimes yes. Give it indirect heat with the heat gun. Dont want to burn the powder coat. Practice a few times. You will get the hang of it

    What's the gauge measurement for that wire on small and large jigs?

    • @ThePiscatorian360
      @ThePiscatorian360  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      .024 on the small and .030 on the large if I remember correctly.

    How are you powder coating them

    • @ThePiscatorian360
      @ThePiscatorian360  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Using a heat gun, probably not the most efficient way! Take a piece of wire bend the end 90 degrees, heat the lead and dunk it in the powder coat, then heat again till it flows.

    • @ThePiscatorian360

      The weighted one uses two 1/4 bullet weight sinkers. Use wasp flexi cord or mesh tubing over them and tie tight on each end

      @@ThePiscatorian360 I made some outriggers for my kayak.
      Hang in the water 4k lumens blue light.
      And I have got my limit every time in about 1.5 hours 2 days a week for 3 weeks now.... I'm running out of room. Can't eat it fast enough.
      But I need to make a 1.5 oz heavy jig for the 100' fishing ....

    • @ThePiscatorian360

      Sounds like a killer set up. Just use a duo lok swivel to the bottom eye of jig and add a cannonball sinker, that should work.

      Not the colored ones but you can get glow in the dark natural glow spaghetti beads. I seem to catch a lot of squid on them with just the 3 glow beads but I've made them with all glow in the dark too.
