Hey Cane, you may want take a look at Pulse pitching instead of classic, seeing how classic seemingly always has "very late" timing. Pulse creates a small timing game similar to hitting and how accurate the pitch is is still largely dependent on the pitcher's control/pitching clutch stat.
Hey Cane, I just wanted to let you know that you need to make sure you have sponsors, I get around 11 million a year with sponsors, and it can really help your budget when you have 35 guys on your 40 man roster, or you’d like to have a couple smaller contracts. Great Video btw.
Pirates signing Pete Alonso and Juan Soto would be scary....... Why do I have this funny feeling that the NL Central is gonna end up getting both players
Man, I spend a little less time on TH-cam lately and completely miss that Cane started a franchise with my favorite team! Hopefully you can bring us back to glory - I'll be sure to keep up with it now!
With all the multi-year deals on the Star players you should try and WIN this year at the deadline then TRADE in the next offseason if it’s another .500 club
note from a cards fan 4 5 and 50 arent retired in game but will never be worn again i always change it when theres guys wearing those numbers in a franchise
I wouldnt be so quick to call Masyn Winn's rookie season a waste. +5 to discipline is huge for a guy that doesnt project to ever be a power threat. If he could put up a .320 OBP with great defense, he would be a star.
I always play my franchise with Ignore budgets just so the CPUs don’t try to cheap out on signing people. I just make sure I’m strict on myself with the the budget. Allows for a more realistic experience from the CPUS
Hey Cane, in the future. It can be worth waiting until after the 40 man needs to be set before signing Free Agents. A lot of them will lose that qualified tag and you wont lose a draft pick for signing them. You might lose out on a couple guys but could be worth it for a longer term rebuild.
I like the Orelvis Martinez move he has had 3 years in a row w 30 hr in the minors I’m surprised they don’t give him a bit more power in the show. His contact needs to get better but has had around a 350obp in aa and aaa so far and this year already 8 hr batting 300 so he’s def on the up and up
As a Red Sox fan and baseball fanatic I say you should go the early 2000s route for some players on this cards team, keep your mian core pitchers besides the bullpen and keep winn, Walker, LARS, Gorman, Carlson.... They can be your new Wainwright, David Eckstein, Albert, Jim Edmonds, and Scott rolen
for your pitching i would suggest: For your Starters to be a minimum of 78 stamina, 72 or more control, 82 to 90 velocity, 72 or more break, to keep better control of the wayward pitches decreasing homeruns and increasing the k's per 9, long relief 60 to 75 stamina and same as starters, middle relief 45 to 60 stamina with a bit more velocity to break up the constance in speed, and use higher velocities for your set up pitchers and your closers. Basically you want to bore them to sleep i9n the box all game in the end and then kill them with speed.
Just letting you know Cane, switching Kopech’s position to SP might bump up his overall… a lot. could make for a 5th guy in the rotation this year or a LRP around 70s overall.
Signed JD Davis in my White Sox franchise and in his first season he absolutely raked - .308 BA 27 HR and gave good defensive versatility to play 1st, 3rd or LF. Granted he’s really slow for outfield
You should look at the free agent list right after arbitration and tender contracts deadlines are up (around december) because a lot of younger solid guys become available who werent offered that fit cheap 2-3 year deals, can fill depth and platoons at the major league level
I think when making some trades, like Arenado for example, you should take back some bad contracts to make it seem like you're eating some of his salary and thus more attractive of a trade option for the other team. Those bad contracts would likely have to be in a separate trade since 3 players is the max unfortunately
solid off-season, wish we could have gotten adames if the idea was to compete, but hopefully we can find a solid contributor at the position on the roster
Prior to MLB 18 i believe there was the ability to slow down the quick manage screen I wish they would bring that back Manfred is a new addition to the championship celebration
Loved the burnes signing. Thought you should have considered teoscar or alonso to be dh but good off-season. The pirates signing Soto though lmao. Ohh the show franchise AI
I would like to suggest a formula for your team rebuilds. As far as your corner outfielders go look to have atleast 69 speed, 70 fielding , 70 reaction , 65 arm, 65 accuracy and I would consider the same for 3rd base. Centerfield and middle infielders should be 75 speed or higher, 72 fielding, 75 reaction, 68 arm or higher, 70 accuracy. The hitting side of things should be more along the lines of 68 or higher contact and 60 or higher power for corner outfielders and infielders, but vision and discipline above a 55. middle infielders and centerfielder to be 69 contact or higher and 55 power or higher.
If you're dead set on trading Arenado this year, just keep an eye for injured third basemen on a contender to swing a deal. I think that's your best bet for moving him. Though I think it's a good idea to keep him around since you have practically nothing to replace him with atm.
That’s a good idea! I was able to get a good pitching prospect in mine (Michael McGreevy) for Kenta Maeda because the cardinals had injuries at starting pitcher
I loved trade with the blue jays! Felt realistic and its a good idea to make a minor league trade or two each season to balance positions of strength/need with other organizations
Being in the middle of tanking or competing makes off seasons interesting having to play everything down the middle. But i think you did well too help the team immediately and keep flexibility for either competing or selling!
Great offseason. I would consider paying Gorman and walker long term so then you don’t have to pay them more money later on. They both have A potential so it would be better to pay them less long term instead of having to pay them both 20-30 million in years to come
Hey cane not sure if you did this yet but as a cardinals fan i would like to ask you change jd davis off number 5 cause the number is gonna be retired for them
6:31 I dont know if anyone else noticed this but the Reds 1st round pick from 2023Rhett Lowder retired due to ability. Is that a common thing in the Show or a bug?
He’s listed at 3B but you should’ve gotten Gio Urshela to start at shortstop since he had SS experience from his Yankee days Also PLEASE keep Matsumoto in A ball and move up Castillo to AA
I don’t think you could realistically trade Arenado until 2026 or 2027, and that’s only if he’s putting up great numbers. No sane GM is taking that deal next season unless you throw in one of your top prospects. Right?
I know I wouldn't. Unless I was desperate for a 3B at the deadline and there are no other options, oh and just happened to have a ton of budget space open.
im in favor of the move edman over to shortstop idea... you can play carlson with his glove everyday in center and JD Davis can DH or even Jordan Walker can DH and JD Davis can play first
I’d trade arenado for a prospect that similar if you can find one. I don’t think you’ll be winning a World Series during his contract and I think him leaving would be the most realistic.
Did that just say that Reds top pitching prospect Rhett Lowder retired because of ability? That is... not even remotely accurate. The only pitcher better than him out of that draft class was Paul Skenes. Is there a way to undo that?
Also, as a Reds fan. I dislike the Cardinals. However, as a West Virginia native, I really want WVU Alumni Victor Scott II to be a big part of this series.
It's the lowest I've seen yet. But personally I think in real life, if Soto signed that he would take a cut. Now, idk if it's that much for 4 years because 8 mill is wild😂.
Instead of kopeck 35 bb/9 y not take any of the the top 4 relievers from lamet Jameson Brigham or Castillo all much better options than kopech. Also should have brought back solano for good infield depth and great bench bat. Please give up on Jo adell lol! How does Alonso sign for only 8 or 9 mill a year that makes no sense I don’t get it and to the pirates?
Miles Miklos should be your 5th starter not the 3rd however the rest is great and I wish you'd of gotten adames but meh... Ryan Fernandez official rookie year! Lll
The Dodgers get a first round bye, then lose in the NLDS. This game IS realistic!
To real, to real 😂
Hopefully will happen this year
Lol
This aged badly...
@@timeisnowboltz770 lol

Tommy Edman was a natural shortstop until the Cardinals moved him to 2B and then eventually CF
It's time to go back home
I think you should have gone more aggressive for Adames. He's only 29, is very well rounded and just hit 9 homers in the playoffs!
THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS! I never thought I’d see the day
Lifelong brewers fan here and I’ve pretty much accepted that we’ll never win one irl so I’ll take anyone I can lol
@@aaronhooper3328 this one counts.. lol
Love the Martinez move and Loperfido also mashes. Keep an eye on waivers on the opening day roster cutdowns

Cane doesn't use sponsors. Didn't in the A's franchise and likely won't here either.
@@brianharvey8404It's understandable to not use sponsorships unless you're going to put them on ALL 30 teams for fairness
Sponsorships aren’t a fair game mechanic
@@lestforce4810 if you use cheesy ones I suppose you’re right
For a second I thought you were talking about real life TH-cam sponsorships for a second💀

Fired Dylan Shugan as hitting coach, and hired Dylan Shugan as pitching coach😂

With all the multi-year deals on the Star players you should try and WIN this year at the deadline then TRADE in the next offseason if it’s another .500 club
At least Aaron Ashby got a ring in year 1
You want a contract? Come play for the Cardinals! 😂 jk Cane
change JD Davis's number ASAP
note from a cards fan 4 5 and 50 arent retired in game but will never be worn again i always change it when theres guys wearing those numbers in a franchise
Done
2 franchises in a row Juan Soto is in Cane's division
I wouldnt be so quick to call Masyn Winn's rookie season a waste. +5 to discipline is huge for a guy that doesnt project to ever be a power threat. If he could put up a .320 OBP with great defense, he would be a star.

Love what you’ve done with the first offseason cane! I cannot wait to see future episodes, Norris will be a contributor soon
This is where the real series begins!
Been waiting all day for this, well worth it
Cane, your series’ are absolutely incredible. Makes me want to get home and play franchise. Keep it rolling!

Your baseball series are amazing. Brought me to your channel. Well done
What a play by Willy Adames to turn the double play… if not that’s runners on 1st & 2nd with the top of the lineup on deck
Edman is a great SS
In the game they got Michael Kopech throwing 95 when IRL he should be throwing 98-99 per baseball savant.
That should be adjusted.

Pirates are LOADED, always exciting when a rival becomes a powerhouse. Awesome offseason
Orelvis is great IRL. I see him all the time in AAA for the Bisons. I feel like they underrate his potential in this game.
I feel like Cane has to face Soto in his division every series 😂😂
Cardinals roster: *breathes*

the pirates becoming big spenders out of nowhere is going to add a really interesting wrinkle to the series
Set up the Core 9 Strat the Braves used to lock up young talent to team friendly long term deals
The Pirates signed both Soto and Alonzo in my Cardinals franchise too. How funny!
For the spring training one video with the highlights I think would be good
How do you get to that screen that tells you how and when each player was acquired?
It's the roster history screen I believe nested under transactions

Holy cow. In my white Sox franchise I have Kopech as my closer and he’s at a 90 overall 😳
cane did you decide whether or not you’re gonna keep pitching at all star?
Are you gonna sign some free agents that you signed with the A’s? Or sign different players going away from those players from the As?
Maybe Spring Training and Opening day can be one video combined?
This game did Masyn Winn dirty. He's already almost elite level at SS in real life.
Would love to see players like Steven Kwan or maybe Josh Naylor from the guardians join the cards

When the series started I adjusted based on data I was seeing IRL
Hey cane not sure if you did this yet but as a cardinals fan i would like to ask you change jd davis off number 5 cause the number is gonna be retired for them
I honestly would love to see this team just become the deadline piece team. Full 27 man roster of one year flyers, why not?
