    I swear by my G10 and enthusiastically agree with every benefit you described. Yes, shoot with low ISO, yes, slightly underexposed, yes, leaf-like shutter release for low vibration, yes rich feature set for maximum control, yes stunning images. Yes...a super low noise sensor (a singular advantage for super crisp images. Low noise matter more than high file size) Yes...more than a decade old.
    I have travelled around the world with it and nothing beats its combo of compact size and image quality - for the money AND THENSOME. All I have ever gotten for it is a second battery (which I have never had to use while shooting.)
    Save a ton of $$$ and invest in a super camer that is STILL worth the investment.

      how was the g11 and g12 compared to this g10? i notice they are actually rated "lower megapixels" than the g10 is???

    • @RANDassociatesinc
      @RANDassociatesinc 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      iamneallyons Exactly! They dropped the megapixel rate AND there were only incremental improvements in the video. My next “goal” (no real rush) is to get the G16 mainly due to its 1080p/60 video. Otherwise, my G10 is STILL going strong! 💪

      @@RANDassociatesinc well i was looking at the g16 OR the G1X to...them two are very close but the g1x has a larger sensor, artic screen BUT its older and i think the g16 has a better sensor while being smaller, but has more advantages overall.

    Just bought another G10 about 10 years after selling my first one, because whenever I come across the images I took with it, I can't believe they were actually taken by a compact camera. They just look so good. Thought I'd get a better bargain though, looks like the prices are going up lately. Glad to have it back in my possession and I'm never selling it again. This one will be joining my growing collection of my personal favorite cameras.

    I bought one from a professional photographer over 10 years ago. He loved his so much, he had 2. Ditched one for a Sony model. I still use this one today. One of my favorites, tough build, great pictures, long lasting battery, and proven reliability

    I am buying one second hand tomorrow for only 30 dollars. I had the Canon G2 in 2004 and loved it. I heard a lot of good things about the G10. Great review. 😊👍🏻

    I love this camera! Got one at a pawn shop not too long ago. The price of these things has actually gone up a little. The reason I got it, was because when you walk into certain places with a big DSLR oh, the security guard seem to notice you right away not to mention people who don't really like having their pictures taken. It's a good "tourist" camera. And it gives you quite a bit more control than most other point-and-shoots. The only thing I wish is that I could find one that didn't have the tiny scratch on the lens that this one has. These things are getting hard to find and the only one I would ever replace it with would be another G 10.

    I bought the G11 for 20 bucks on Mercari, no battery, had a dial problem that was fixed with contact cleaner, I love the camera, I own the G2 as well. I need to get the leather case. great video

    The G10 was a low ISO battleship - I did shoot up to ISO 200 at 1/4 second for still subjects because the IS in the lens was quite good. I had mine back in 2013 and have progressed through many Powershots up to my current one which is a G7x MkII (about 4 years old now) which is another gem with the bigger 1 inch sensor and can shoot up to IS) 800 or 1600. Canons controls, menu and colour science are great as ever.

    the nx30 sensor is aps-c, the g10 sensor is tiny, quite a bit less than 1/4 the area of an aps-c.

    Perhaps you know about a " change the battery" all of a sudden message... It happened to mine a month ago and idk if i did something wrong charging it or if it's like a sudden dead for it. I mean, for the batt...
    Can you help me? I couldn't find it on google.
    Thnx

    Thanks. My brother and sister in law gave me one for shooting their wedding in 2008. (I shot their wedding on film not with the G10) Pretty nice. You're right, the battery is robust, much better than on my Nikon Coolpix AW110. I always felt the sensor was noisy on the G10. Didn't like shooting at 200 or 400 iso.
