Ultimately we don't know until F12024 is fully released onto Playstation, Xbox and PC. But if we've gathered anything from 2021, is that we know it's not going to do well
You're absolutely right, immediately after it came out, Drive to Survive sparked my interest in F1. Following the stories and the mindset of people involved in it is very interesting, even more than just following who's winning.
They killed every sports franchise. They just laid off 300+ staff, to maximise profits for a copy and paste job. Inflation in the world needs to come down.
EA ruins everything they touch. Just take a look at what they did to NASCAR. Yeah, the first few games were good, but then it took a massive cliffdive until NASCAR revoked EA’s license, and it was a good 2 years before another NASCAR game was released.
I play offline alone 99% of the time. That's why the career mode/MyTeam is the most important thing for me. When I hear that the career has been redone from scratch, I fear the worst. Exactly the same was claimed for the latest Forza Motorsport. And there the career is really a huge slap in the face and a sleeping aid.
F12019 was the last great f1 game being able to change how much fuel you use and battery usage mid race made it seem more realistic you can’t do that in current f1 games
F1 23's handling doesn't feet that great to me. It's like they took 22's and just upped the tolerance for wheelspin a little. That means you can re-accelerate faster and with more confidence, but the actual limit is still difficult to pinpoint. You can't get a feel for it as well as you could with 2020/21. It's like they accidentaly turned off the feedback for it and forgot to turn it back on. The cars feel floaty to me I know the cars are completely different and don't have as much downforce anymore (Verstappen's 2023 Bahrain pole time would have made him start 17th on the grid in 2020) but they're still F1 cars and I can't help but think that they feel way off. Me being able to casually destroy the 2023 pole times on certain circuits and not being even close on others kinda makes me think that they indeed are way off the mark And then there are some technical problems, like the most popular wheels which were borderline unusable for months after release, CPU usage going through the roof at startup for no reason, followed by the GPU usage doing the same in the menus when there's nothing going on (borderline frying your GPU if you don't limit your framerate) I simply don't give a shit about F1 World, and hate the fact that the game constantly shoves it down your throat, I shouldn't have to go through that just to play something as basic as time trial Also whoever thought that the settings menu being presented in disordered boxes all over the screen rather than a simple list was a good idea... You shouldn't need a minimap to know where you are in the menus (there's actually one in the top right corner if you haven't noticed)
The algorhythm has blessed thee. Also, I want to add myself to the chorus that saw the franchise go in ruins when EA announced the acquisition of Codie. Really sad we were right.
Yep. They don’t offer anything special nowadays. F1 2020 was the last F1 game that felt like a classic racing title. The new stuff is just lazy MT lounge room decorating crap.
fun fact: F1 2012, 2013 was regarded as one of the best F1 games by codemasters, but the F1 2014 didnt had a slight drop, it was regarded as one of the worst f1 games ever released because of its graphics compared to F1 2012 and 2013 and engine sound. So it was not a slight drop, it was like a faliure, btw even tho the game is regarded as one of the worst f1 games, many people made season and cars mods to the game, making it better? i think?
I'm just glad it's not only EA selling F1 games. Personally i enjoyed the F1 Manager games more since i suck at racing games. And it seems that F1 Manager 24 is going to be a blast now that you can create your own team, and even get sponsor managment , mechanical failures and even other teams ready to poach on your drivers and staff And this all for half of what EA asks of it's game.
also in singleplayer if you crash hard which causes a red flag then falshback before the crash the game will simultaneously have and not have a red flag allowing you to race but in half of the corners cutting your throttle losing you seconds over a lap. The only fix to this is save and quit and load back in which (for me at least) cuts off FFB. so I have to quit again close the game open it and load back in to continue.
For me it was already ruined in 2015 the moment they decided to make a shitty and totally unrealistic damage model, horrible physics and remove local multiplayer. Classic cars still got my attention for a few years, but now I only play old and fan-made games.
Really, I think F1 23 was good enough to convince me otherwise. I think people are overreacting about how EA are killing their racing games, I guess you could say DiRT was killed off??? But, EA Sports WRC isn’t anywhere near as bad as people are saying, but hey, people need something to complain about.
I know for certain that if F1 24 isn't a big step forward league racing is gonna die and that's gonna be the end of the franchise. Yes, some people play single player, but if there are no leagues, trust me on that, the franchise is not going to last long. You have no idea how big the F1 franchise is just because of leagues, and eSports of course.
@@NVProlog I mean yeah, true. But it would just be sad to see a franchise die like that. Lots of leagues will just switch to other racing games, and most people are just not gonna bother buying their games anymore. At that point, with the sales being so low, either EA makes a very good job on the next one (as people will still have faith for improvement) or they will simply shut Codemasters down...
F1 23 wasn’t “incredibly buggy” at release, i pre-ordered the game & the only issues i ran into were of course Red Flags (which i turned off until fixed, so no biggie) & i lost all game sound at one point during my first race in MyTeam a few hours into my first play session on the game. Other than that, the game was great. the F1 game has had MTX for years, before EA even took over, clearly they’ve been rather hands off with it, i suppose their only real contribution was the Podium Pass & they probably told Codemasters to make an extra mode where they could possibly profit more. F1 Life was pointless & then it became F1 World, which isn’t that bad. most people complaining about it are not the target demographic, World is for NEW players to learn the game, you’d think that’d be obvious to most people since the AI is set to 30. 💀 Sure, it needs some improvement & so does Ranked, but all in all most people play UnRanked & Career mode regardless. I like F1 23, the handling was great, my favourite in the series in fact & my only real annoyances are that Career doesn’t see many updates, something F1 24 is apparently rectifying. And the fact they keep promoting a “new” handling model every year. last year was “Precision Drive” & this year it’s some different name with EA branding. in my opinion; they don’t need to change the handling, leave it alone & focus resources towards improving the other modes. i’m looking forward to playing the closed beta & the overhauled driver career :)
Hi there! Please don't copy my works - as a small creator I work hard to make videos, and some of the elements I use are licensed. This video has subtitles that can be automatically translated, and while I appreciate that automatic translations can be a bit dodgy, I'd prefer to keep my works protected. I hope you understand. Sorry, and thank you for the offer!
I thought that F1 2021 and 23 were good, despite 2021 removing classics, and 24 looks to be changing driver careers, and gives us 4 cars from 2024 in f1 23 with more to come, meaning there will be more cars. Yeah, it’s very overpriced compared to older games, but there’s not many bad things compared to good.
This was literally a nothingburger. What is that killed F1 that EA was the cause? Other than F1 22 being an ass game because they messed up the new rigs handling. You didn't say anything from F1 23 but good thing, better handling, returning Braking point, even the red flags. Also are we ignoring the fact that 2015 wasn't just a "slight drop" The game literally didn't have any kind of career mode. I think that's a bigger sin than having a little bit of harder controlls.
I agree, this video was just really poor and pointless. Felt like he just used other people's opinions that he saw online and ended up with no real substance or details to his grievances, and I also don't know what context is added by bringing up DTS and saying that was the reason for the sports boom in popularity in 2020 and why people were playing the game. There was a much bigger reason that wasn't mentioned, and that was COVID and the fact that for many months it was the only way we could actually see any racing. And I also don't know why he bought up F1 2009 since it was a Wii game that Codemasters got Sumo Digital to develop for them as effectively a quick stopgap before F1 2010 was ready; yes it was the first one since they got the rights but it's kind of irrelevant detail and felt like padding for what's already only a 4 minute video. (I also hate the "Only a small percentage of you are subscribed to me!" trend because it always comes across as pathetic and forced attempt to guilt trip people into caring about you, and it made me tune out of the video) Also a lot of the issues he brings up with the F1 games have been there since before the EA acquisition of Codemasters; the games were always buggy since F1 2010. There's nothing in this video that I didn't already know, infact I feel dumber having watched it.
22 and 23 were great except for the dated ego engine graphics, they mainly need to work on better graphics not copypasting trees and shit, better crowd variation.
I think that when playing f1 2020 and 2021 i never had a SINGLE bug but damn f1 22 and 23 were SO HORRIBLE like because i am on ps4 pultiplayer just don’t work at all and when it works it’s only for one grand prix and it’s very very laggy and also recently on f1 23 i losed a hole 2h grand prix because i was stuck on a loading screen so it didn’t saved my (beautiful by the way) race so i litteraly have to do the same race again for my career mode it’s soooooo annoying like i really miss the vibes on 2020 and 2021 where there was no issue at all just perfection 😭
I think someone previously commented that the older F1 games are available on CDKeys, so I’d try there first. If not, I don’t believe they are sold officially anymore.
I think EA want more more money and they will try to makr the game more appealing/better so the f1 fans like it and buy it or make it more noob/begginer friendly
Were these F1 games in the 2010s actually any good? I never tried them as I was thoroughly unimpressed by the reviews. I was kinda surprised to read the tracks weren't even laser-scanned when many F1 drivers were racing online during the pandemic.
I don't know why people blame EA for the poor development of the F1 games. Even before EA bought Codemasters, their games were tiny updates every year, removing some content and just tweaking other bits like handling. Codemasters are NOT good developers and should not be overlooked because of EA. Codemasters were the perfect company to be brought into the EA ethos. They didn't even have to do anything and they realistically probably have little influence over the game, maybe the F1 Life garbage, but at the same time, I could totally see Codemasters putting that in on their own free will. It was a win win for both companies, EA get to acquire the F1 license and monopolize that area of sports gaming, like they do with NFL and Codemasters knew the reputation of EA and knew that whatever terrible games they made from there on, would be attributed to being owned by EA and that it would be their fault, not codemasters. Be very careful
F1 is a popular sport, not that popular as football or cricket but let s say f1 is the equivalent of football in the world of motorsport so having an year edition of videogame should be a big deal. I started watching f1 in 2012, the same year I started playing f1 videogames, I must say for a gamer’ expectations in that period year, f1 2012 was a masterpiece. Then it came f1 2013, with some big deals like classic cars, classic tracks and some improvements in terms of driving cars, physics, graphics or even the theme of menu, 2014 edition was a mess but 2015 was a whole new generation, making the game feel more realistic, with realistic racing, even celebration process was more realistic, year by year up until 2020 edition they were doing small improvements that made the game a little better but all at all were dissapointing(BUT comparing to those mollusks that develops the game now, those from CM were pretty decent). Now the game is a project that they invest zero interest but wants to get more than 💯 profits. This game should have been more realistic, must have paid more attention to details but there so much to be said that even if I write a book will not be enough. They are so obsessed with money that random items we had in career mode for free, like car liveries, helmet, gloves now must be purchased by using pitcoins, one day we will have 2-3 teams in single player mode and we would have to pay to get them all. All I wish to all these 1d1ots obsessed with money that runs this project is to live a life as happy as ours when we see how superficial their work is after paying nearly 100 euros for an update.
Calling Braking Point "a highly acclaimed story mode" is such a big stretch. It has no interesting mechanics or memorable moment/character. The only one being Devon Butler (who was previously in F1 2019) who only has his dickhead personality going for him.
Fully agree. According to steam only 15% of players actually completed it. I think the idea of story based scenarios is not bad but the dialogues are atrocious, scenarios are all more or less the same and you could not activate corner cutting rules which is super annoying.
@@drubo17 Well, yes... but actually no. The only thing EA are likely to be more hands on with is monetisation, even then F1 2020 had the podium pass before the buyout. This dislike of EA is just moving the goalposts.

F1 20 and F1 21 are both almost equally good although F1 20 has slightly better car handling but F1 22 has horrible car handling due to EA making the game fully unlike F1 21 which was mainly made my codemasters. In F1 23 the car handling has improved but still not as good as F1 20 or even F1 21. EA must stop wasting their resources on things like f1 life and other unnecessary things and use their resources on improving the handling of the cars and also reduce the price of the game by avoiding unnecessary things in the game like f1 world and other stuff. EA you might be thinking it adds value to the game but it doesn't, only improving the handling of cars will add value to the game, so keep this in mind while you develop F1 24 otherwise the game will be stupid.
F1 2021 was horrible, the handling is horrible, the car losses grip at high speed turns and its imposible to accelerate without spinning, damage model that was inconsistent, many bugs and with the last update i've been unable to play breaking point
My Thrustmaster T300 Alcantara had no ffb for the first month then a fix came out but, I have to use software test engine to make the wheel work before I play. Other years had bugs that made the game unplayable for two months. Codemasters make crap.
I have some optimism if I am honest. I know first hand how awful EA is because I have been playing Madden for years and it is in the worst place it has ever been. However, when I play f1 23 i cant help but think there is still an actual game there as compared to madden. Now I will say that I didn't play any of the games before 23 but I do feel like maybe they wont fuck it up cause codemasters has been in the industry for so long
So just one game wasnt good from those two and we gonna hate it? Codemasters itself had some better and worst years with F1 games. Wont judge ea until they will have more F1 titles that would be bad. This is just nonsense hate video about EA.

Codemasters even focused on how F1 Driver shifts gear in F1. But EA, just shfts way too early in game.
Ultimately we don't know until F12024 is fully released onto Playstation, Xbox and PC. But if we've gathered anything from 2021, is that we know it's not going to do well
Fingers crossed it’s an improvement on F1 23 at least.
The red flags were origanly added in f1 10/11 (i am not really sure and sorry for my bad english)
Still playing F1 2020.
With Myteam I never felt the need to buy the new one 🤷♂️
You're absolutely right, immediately after it came out, Drive to Survive sparked my interest in F1. Following the stories and the mindset of people involved in it is very interesting, even more than just following who's winning.
They killed every sports franchise. They just laid off 300+ staff, to maximise profits for a copy and paste job. Inflation in the world needs to come down.
Why the dislikes? What he's saying is completely true. Another FIFA...
The cars feel floaty to me
I know the cars are completely different and don't have as much downforce anymore (Verstappen's 2023 Bahrain pole time would have made him start 17th on the grid in 2020) but they're still F1 cars and I can't help but think that they feel way off. Me being able to casually destroy the 2023 pole times on certain circuits and not being even close on others kinda makes me think that they indeed are way off the mark
And then there are some technical problems, like the most popular wheels which were borderline unusable for months after release, CPU usage going through the roof at startup for no reason, followed by the GPU usage doing the same in the menus when there's nothing going on (borderline frying your GPU if you don't limit your framerate)
I simply don't give a shit about F1 World, and hate the fact that the game constantly shoves it down your throat, I shouldn't have to go through that just to play something as basic as time trial
Also whoever thought that the settings menu being presented in disordered boxes all over the screen rather than a simple list was a good idea...
Mate, a guys with only 138 subs? TF ARE YALL DOIN?
And it seems that F1 Manager 24 is going to be a blast now that you can create your own team, and even get sponsor managment , mechanical failures and even other teams ready to poach on your drivers and staff
And this all for half of what EA asks of it's game.
Lol someone did an Eminem parody of how EA killed F1 and it was pretty spot on.
And now they gone and killed off F1 Mobile
I used to love f1 mobile too 😢
(sorry I took 4 months to reply to the comment lol)
red flags are still broken, sometimes they send you out on your previous tire set without changing them to what’s actually shown! it’s unbelievable 😭
also in singleplayer if you crash hard which causes a red flag then falshback before the crash the game will simultaneously have and not have a red flag allowing you to race but in half of the corners cutting your throttle losing you seconds over a lap. The only fix to this is save and quit and load back in which (for me at least) cuts off FFB. so I have to quit again close the game open it and load back in to continue.
Game industrie is just a nightmare right now, you are not allowed to have fun anymore.
I took the Codemasters era for granted :(
I think F1 23 was actually pretty good. The Gameplay improved a lot over 22 and Turning Point was also fun to play. 🤷🏼♂️
I Know that many people give EA fault for poor performance but in reality its the management from the Development studio that ruins the game.
@@RacingLeaguesRL to be fair though, id rather that then launch f1 2015…
@@NVProlog I mean yeah, true. But it would just be sad to see a franchise die like that. Lots of leagues will just switch to other racing games, and most people are just not gonna bother buying their games anymore.
At that point, with the sales being so low, either EA makes a very good job on the next one (as people will still have faith for improvement) or they will simply shut Codemasters down...
@@RacingLeaguesRL if they DO pull that, there will be a replacement but probably will be a bit shit
And the fact they keep promoting a “new” handling model every year. last year was “Precision Drive” & this year it’s some different name with EA branding. in my opinion; they don’t need to change the handling, leave it alone & focus resources towards improving the other modes. i’m looking forward to playing the closed beta & the overhauled driver career :)
straight waffling
i like waffles 🧇
3:20 Wrong. Red flags were actually in F1 2011 already. I remember as a kid trying to cause red flags at Monaco in that game
Thanks for pointing this out! I added a correction in the description. ❤
70€ for an update, thats why
DTS NEVER appealed to hardcore F1 fans. DTS will always be only for regular fans.
Can I copy your video and translate it for people in Brazil? please? I will recommend your channel too. very good video! congratulations
F1 2020 is the GOAT. The best season with the greatest cars ever (W11 etc.) and historic cars and career mode!
EA doesn't make the games, in terms of stuff like handling EA doesn't affect that, that's just Codemasters being codemasters.
(I also hate the "Only a small percentage of you are subscribed to me!" trend because it always comes across as pathetic and forced attempt to guilt trip people into caring about you, and it made me tune out of the video)
Also a lot of the issues he brings up with the F1 games have been there since before the EA acquisition of Codemasters; the games were always buggy since F1 2010. There's nothing in this video that I didn't already know, infact I feel dumber having watched it.
I've had every F1 game from 2006 until 2021. We'll see if 2024 is good again. Will definitely try it, but big chance I will refund it again.
F1 24 for me be best racing game ever. 💪
It's alright, EA already butchered the DiRT Rally studio with EA WRC. That game is drop in quality compared to DiRT Rally 2.0.
22 and 23 were great except for the dated ego engine graphics, they mainly need to work on better graphics not copypasting trees and shit, better crowd variation.
1:03 i think it is fair to say that the most die hard fans hate it.
Why do EA makes games that you feel your skating on ice ? Football and F1 games as examples 😢
Horrible company who destroy the experience
if we keep buying ea keeps selling the same game over again
Maybe you should upgrade to a ps5
Anyone knows a way to by F12020 ?
I think someone previously commented that the older F1 games are available on CDKeys, so I’d try there first. If not, I don’t believe they are sold officially anymore.
CD Key have it
I think EA want more more money and they will try to makr the game more appealing/better so the f1 fans like it and buy it or make it more noob/begginer friendly
F1 23 is nice. I think we should give EA some time, see F1 24 before rushing out to judge.
ea broke the game the very second it took over
Were these F1 games in the 2010s actually any good?
To think that F1 2021 is the last good game is just embarassing for EA
It's not EA's fault. the best Formula 1 died in the late 90s and early 2000s
So how did ea killed it ?😡
Messed up handling, microtransactions, features nobody wants… u have attention spam of a goldfish.
@@slipstreamerXGamingyk codemasters make the game right?
Yea but they are under control of ea that makes them add that shit no one wants@@Harry_scazza09
@@Harry_scazza09 and ea demands some stuff before publishing?
@@drubo17 Well, yes... but actually no. The only thing EA are likely to be more hands on with is monetisation, even then F1 2020 had the podium pass before the buyout.
This dislike of EA is just moving the goalposts.
EA also killed F1 Mobile Racing too! Unforgivable! 🤬🖕
I used to love F1 mobile racing 😢
@@ducklops I literally found it February 1st and was playing it nonstop and woke up on the 23rd to find out it was over in May and I have never hated EA more in my entire life! There’s a campaign to try to save it just so you know. #SaveF1Mobile
#SafeF1Mobile - I’m with you man. They need to bring it back!!
So uh.. which one of these are the reason? Cause so far out of the 3 only one seems directly connected
Biggest mistake: codemasters
Well ea weren’t the others that killed the f1 game but f1 themselves also killed the game with ea sports getting f’d over cause f1 want to control everything that they don’t need to
I liked the F2 series a lot in F1 2023
I agree - I had some great fun playing in F2
3:38 Update:
No it hasn't.
I’m going to play it tomorrow with the 5 hour free trial as part of EA play. What do you think about the new game? I won’t be paying for it full price, but will wait until it comes free to play on gamepass.
sadly its one of Decent CarPG game still right now is saying something yeah its been same but i stil have fun playing it.
while Forza Motosports brought up 'CarPG' which more like tedious grind then anything else
Bullshit, all games are getting expensive so how would u know if EA killed the game, seriously every single fucken time I wanted to get a popular racing game people make a fucken excuse for no fucken reasons why except just to get attention
Games are getting very expensive, I agree. Thanks for watching my video ❤️
Man, the game rating plummeting and also EA now being leeches, I think that is enough to say that EA have fucked the F1 Game for the future.
@@callumstuart9378 EA have been fairly hands off with the F1 series. The F1 games have always been buggy on release with broken online. It's hilarious how EA is getting hate that should be directed to CM.
The only thing I would say EA is more hands on is monetisation.
@@JuicedOnKidsRealistically who buys the podium pass and all the cosmetics and shit? Some rich idiots probably do but good thing is the rest of us don't have to cause they don't affect performance
Uhh, dude there are reasons...
So uh EA Games Killing Everything?
The games are still kinda decent. For now at least...
F1 2021 was horrible, the handling is horrible, the car losses grip at high speed turns and its imposible to accelerate without spinning, damage model that was inconsistent, many bugs and with the last update i've been unable to play breaking point
lol at those belgian trees, looks more like tropical trees
Who could have seen this coming
My Thrustmaster T300 Alcantara had no ffb for the first month then a fix came out but, I have to use software test engine to make the wheel work before I play. Other years had bugs that made the game unplayable for two months. Codemasters make crap.
I'm running a 7950X3D/4090 and think F1 2023 looks awful! (Even at 4k ultra with RT)
it is a series of copies with added content
or removed apparently
i don't buy them nor Fifa for that matter
I play MyTeam only. But it’s been the same for years now. Not gonna buy F1 24 unless MyTeam has been improved a lot
