  • In Japan, there are over 320,000 foreign technical trainees and Vietnamese technical interns accounted for about 50% of them. These Vietnamese trainees often work in harsh conditions, which lead to many work-related deaths. Why does this keep happening? We went to the Nisshin Kutsu temple to find out.

Education can become a weapon to discriminate and make people act with arrogance. What kind of education one gets makes the difference.
If people are repeatedly told through education that they are superior and others are less of a human, then, education
becomes the evil tool for enslaving humans to hatred and acts and brutality.
True education should set up free from prejudices and bias which we are all prone to.

The Vietnamese misunderstood that the Japanese were good people and went to Japan.
As a result, many people are exploited by Japanese.
It is necessary to take action in order that the Japanese abuse will not occur again.
TH-cam staffs keep away this important reports that relate to people's lives.
The number of viewers is too small.
I am angry at the low morale of TH-cam staff.
Now, I try to prevent Asians from going to Japan for work.
For example, I upload reports to my channel about Japanese abuse to foreign workers.
And I warn TH-cam creator who make good impressions of Japan not to mislead Asians as follows:
      ---
Your activity have brought Asians to Japan, and many Asians are abused by Japanese, and they die from overwork in Japan.
Watch a report from Asian boss on TH-cam:
"Why Many Vietnamese Workers Die In Japan | ASIAN BOSS"
      ---
But, they never reflect that their misleading contributes to the death of people.
We should inform people not to go to Japan for work.
If we can do that, we will protect people from the Japanese abuse.

I am japanese, studying in the U.S. After I watched this awesome video, I almost come to hate my country and government and I am really sad to hear this problem because I have lots of friends from Vietnam and they love my home country. However, lots of people who have not been exposed to foreign cultures and even interacted with non-Japanese. They are uneducated in terms of interacting with foreigners and do have a certain bias on foreigners especially from other Asian countries. They stick to their stupid manners and weird traditions. They are afraid of changes. They still think that Japan is superior to other Asian countries because they think Japan is more developed than the countries. I can't say that there is no discrimination in Japan. As I have experienced, some of Japanese people and even my friends make a discriminative comment to people from other Asian countries. Someone here says "If you are from western countries, they don't discriminate against you". That is true. Japanese somehow have an idea that people from western countries are great even though there is no difference between races and countries and there should be equity and equality. Superficially, Japanese look polite and respectful but in reality they are some sorts of racists. I don't want to say that Japanese are racists but in order to change their mindset I feel like I have to say that. The population of Japanese has been reducing because of their low birthrate. Japan needs people from outside of Japan to come to work there. Educating them that the importance of thinking that there is no gap among people is a way more significant than learning subjects which are required to study in school. School should be like that. I am off the topic but I really want to change the environment where foreign workers have experienced so far and I hope I can help it improve and workers from other countries in Japan will feel more comfortable and won't regret that they come to Japan. I love all countries. Thanks for reading.

As a white foreigner who spent a year in Japan studying, I had heard about the mistreatment of other asian foreigners but I never knew the true scale of it until just now. We white foreigners were treated so well, with so much care and respect and hospitality that I couldn't imagine other foreigners being treated this way. It is absolutely abhorrent. Every worker should be treated with respect and care. They came to not only earn money, but to contribute to a society they had an interest in and fondness for. How sad that at the very least their dreams were crushed and at the very most they lost their lives. Japanese society needs to seriously change its ways because it will soon be dependent upon these migrant workers to keep their economy afloat. I hope Japanese companies will learn to treat their foreign workers with respect and spend the extra money to keep them safe too. Maybe because the employers think they can get away with it? It is so tragic. The welfare, happiness of the workforce are crucial to a healthy and productive economy. That being said, it's not like 'normal' Japanese have it easy in their country. Exploitation is rife. You're expected to work unpaid overtime just to keep your job.
I know a Kiwi guy who just went home after his shift was over. One boss was ok. The new boss demanded that he should toe the line and do what all the other Japanese did. He refused and left.
Japan doesn't work by the same rules as the West. Their companies are their families. The husbands sometimes sleep at work to show their dedication to their job. Company loyalty is like a religion over there.

I'm Vietnamese and have heard about this but the numbers shocked me. Vietnamese people have always had respect and admiration for Japan and Japanese people. It's very common for teachers, public speakers to use Japanese people as an example of how we should behave as members of society: respect rules, take responsibility, be respectful to people, work hard, be organized,... that's basically how Vietnamese people view the Japanese and which, sadly is the opposite of these people's experiences. You guys need to know as well that $750 is HUGE in Vietnam (4-5 times minimum wage), you'll live like a king in a big city with that money. That's why people risk their life to go work in Japan, because after all they're only ONE member of their family and if their suffering can help the entire family live happily and comfortably then it's worth risking. In recent years, the "American dream" in Vietnam has been replaced by the "Japanese dream", people try to get their opportunity to go work in Japan, it's unfair that some of you say they're not adapted to working hard, of course they know they'd have to work hard, they just didn't expect Japanese people to be so different from what they know of them.

To be fair, this doesn't represent all Japanese. When I was in high school, Japanese students visited our school quite often (around once every 2 months) and we never had a bad experience with them, they were always nice and friendly. So at least, we have much hope in the young people.

Nothing on here EVER represents an entire culture or population of people. Most people understand that. It just sucks that this kind of stuff STILL happens in the world. I was listening to "The Hidden Brain" on NPR this morning and they were talking about empathy. They said something along the lines of "Trauma causes us to look inward, while empathy forces us to look outside and see things from someone else's point of view." Japanese people were brutalized in the past, but the people running these bad businesses and countries having these ridiculously unfair labor laws, forgot what it was like to be the victims.

The Japanese always believe that Japan is the number 1 in the world.
Many of them don't care about the world.
At Japanese companies the working culture of "sempai" and "kohai" are always very clear. Even if kohai is better, he doesn't dare to show it.
If you show that you are good, you will be hated immediately.
In Japan, there is no concept of dismissal. Staff self-pressure and breaks.
Because of Sempai and Kohai culture, many Japanese people cannot stand the pressure and have to quit their jobs or commit suicide at the train lines.
I have lived and worked in Japan for 5 years. Fortunately, my company is also good people. They are more open and friendly to foreigners.
Most foreigners in Japan are discriminated except for countries like the US or Europe.

I can't believe their elders survived the Vietnam War just to have their offspring deal with more hardships in Japan. We call it “Black companies “in Japan, it means “exploitative enterprise “is better way of explanation. These evil companies are wanting cheep labour and use them if they are disposable workers. This is the result of over 20 years of economic depression. Causing higher rate of suicide in number. Less marriage, less children were born in Japan.
I’d like to make it clear that this happens to anyone who works inJapan including Japanese worker, not necessary only to Vietnamese workers.
Possibly more common for the foreign workers.I assume , because of the language barrier also the different cultural background and Japanese national character is Incredibly strict to keeping the traditions of working hard method. However that’s how Japan keep things going for their Country. Everything happens according to the plans and rules. Train comes on time, everyone moves on time. It’s not easy place to work if you are not used to it.
Japan’s working conditions are quite harsh yet, why all these people are coming to Japan to work? To make money and pay the debt?why do they have debt?
They can’t go back home unless they make money?
    Who has the responsibility?
How can we stop it ?
Basically, Japanese companies want more cheap labor from outside of Japan and government is ignoring the issue. What did they do ?instead of making things better.”let’s get more foreign worker”!!
