      You can beak them of this..
      I currently live in a hotel after losing my farmhouse in a fire. I was able to get the birds out of the building and they have been in a hotel room with people above below and on either side of me for 6 months without a single noise complaint.
      Once your birds love and respect you enough that they exhibit their built in desire to please mom or dad its a lengthy matter of showing them how you want them to behave in certain environments..
      Also my pair of sun's come with me into a couple different restaurants one or two nights a week.
      If they make one loud blast I warn them by saying truck.. or Be quiet or Ill put you truck..
      95 times out of 100 my birds sit with me quietly in a crowded bar and wont land on anyone without an invitation.. Over the years if one of my birds lands on a person in public uninvited or gets noisy they go straight into the truck to sit alone for the rest of the evening (they get one warning) that way when they are taken outside to the travel cage in my vehicle and I'm scolding them they learn a better idea of what I'm upset about more rapidly if you scold them once or twice before punishing them.. It can take may rounds before a bird understands what you are talking about when you tell them not to do something.. Its also adorable how they stay quiet when I take them to outdoor concerts until a song ends then they cheer along with the crowd and let out conure screams and they stop as soon as the crowd quiets down.. They really do learn the unspoken social rules of how to interact and what is unacceptable in a public environment If you make your birds family and let them be a part of your life outside your home you will have a very different dynamic between you and your feathered companion.. I take mine into the grocery store, into gas stations, on car rides, into restaurants.. They get so happy when they realize I'm taking them out of their tiny space..
      No animal that has a 50 mile territorial radius in the wild will ever be content staying in a home 24 hours a day no matter how stimulating and happy of an environment you can provide..
      My birds drive me nuts if I don't get them out of the home and seeing some trees for more than a day or two in a row.. Only then when they get cooped up in the home for days on end do I experience problems like biting or screaming for food or attention..
      Your bird doesn't just want to have some kind of life outside the home; They want to share your life with you more than anything and you will get an unshakable bond, obedience, loyalty and (if you ask them nicely) silence as a reward
      Thats my secret. Reward them with trips out and motivate change by removing them from the group. Conures that stay in the same house all the time are usually depressed and bored.. I take my birds out of the house daily and if one bird has been misbehaving then they stay home in the house cage alone when I go out.. Separation from the flock when the flock is out having fun as a tool to motivate a change in behavior is effective in ways that are hard to describe and must be seen..
      When a bird is placed in time out and the rest of the flock is out having experiences makes a bird sit and contemplate how they can change in order to get more out time with the gang.. And immediate separation when exhibiting undesirable behavior along with verbal scolding to teach them the jargon of what upset you so that you can give them a verbal warning and they will comprehend what you are talking about.
      Birds cant stand to be a disappointment when they love you. It also helps when you have an older bird that will accelerate the process in teaching the younger bird what is acceptable and they copy them like how a young puppy learns and develops desirable behavioral traits from an older hunting dog.

      Saying theyre Loud sometimes is doing a disservice to sun conures.
      People buy these birds not understanding they are the loudest parrot to own by decibel and their scream is location scream so they will never stop doing it, it's in their DNA to call to their flock mate regardless of how much attention they get. Many people get these birds and give them away after a year or so, it's very very depressing to watch over and over again.
      😢

    • @Kdubz_Auto_HVAC
      @Kdubz_Auto_HVAC ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@jacksonbenin8191 yes good advice, I taught mine to not scream when I come home from work [due to his excitement] by putting a blanket over his cage for the first 30 minutes I'm home till he is quiet, then I take him out.
      Just don't put him under there and forget about him because 1. That's negatively punative and neglectful
      And 2. They will just scream after a while regardless and now you lost a training tool.

      I don't think there's a such thing as a beginner parrot because you should just get whatever. You want but be prepared for any thing that is common with that breed of parrot because just getting a parrot so you can learn the ropes of owning one and then getting rid of it is a terrible thing

      depends, I got mine and hand fed him as a hatchling when I was ten, I got him just before summer break and spent every second with him and took him everywhere with me..
      Your conure simply wants to be treated like a fmaily member then they will treat you with calm and their buit in desire to please but you need to earn it..
      I take my conure into the shower, he was welcome at the dinner table when I was growing up but my dad was a bird enthusiast long before I came along, I even take my sun conure to out to eat with me, he sleeps in bed with me..
      I bet you treated him like a pet which he is not.. Conures are wild animals usually with less than 2 generations of domestication.. I think of it akin to having an intelligent wild animal like an ape in your home.. They need unique care and stimulation and irregular happenings to keep them from a rut of routine and from going literally insane. If i don't bring my sunny out of the house more than a day or two in a row he drives me nuts too..
      No creature that has a 50 mile territorial range in the wild will ever be happy or fulfilled staying in your home 24 hours a day.
      I have met plenty of conures that never received the care they deserved and they are basically broken and just scream bite and break things between meals and naps.. Its the equivalent of throwing a sane human in a cage.. they dont stay sane for long
      I have also met plenty who are more obedient and loyal than German shepherds and would follow their masters commands into the open gates of hell.. You get back only what you put into exotic parrots

    Lies.
    My suegra's conure has literally made everyone in the family bleed from how hard she bites, even has gotten a good chunk of flesh nipped off. She goes for the face more often and has gotten her butt smacked out of the air for trying to attack mid flight. She'll whisper "c'mere" while fluffing her neck against the cage to entice you to give her "scritches" and then when your finger is close enough she'll whip around and snatch at it with all her strength.
    Demon bird.
    My aunt's conure however, sweetest boy. Tries to bite but always seems to not have enough strength to do so. Sings all the time, and has even gotten to whispering his name. I will take his loud chirps and clicks over bloodied purple fingers and ears anytime.

  • @DatBeautifulNightmare

    😂😂 THE loudest conure and please do not give false information. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A STARTER BIRD!! All birds have different personalities and needs. The "one person" thing is not unusual. It's bad as they see that person as a "mate" even with socialisation they will pick a favourite. Edited: do not allow birds on your shoulder until fully tame, even then, my gcc left my ear with a noticeable scar.

    I’ve had a Dusky Conure for a few years now, we adopted her when her original owner passed away, she’s potty trained and can speak. She’s not very noisy except when I leave the room or house. If I take a nap in the afternoon, she stays completely quiet to let me sleep. She does wake up around 0900 each morning and if you’re not awake she’ll look at me from her cage and slowly start to make noises like she’s talking to herself then she gets louder until you come get her. Often we keep the cage open and she flies to her bed at night and wakes up on her own. She doesn’t like vacuum cleaners or ceiling fans (we call it the bird chopper, lol), she’ll attack the broom so we have to be careful. The cat is scared to death of the bird.

    1- Not Supposed to pet birds other then the head and neck like that! Check into that VERY IMPORTANT! Teasing the bird, ETC
    2- Not recommended as a first time bird!
    ..So much to say about whats said in this video. Wow. I'll try and shorten it, have to leave some out.
    They are not loud sometimes! It's all the time! And its loud!
    They need a lot of attention, toys, and this is not only for conures but all birds should not be caged, so lots of being out, can break your stuff and bite hard.
    Have very special and different personalities. No bird is the same. I've had 2. They are very attached to their person. But yes can be social even though they have favorites.
    They are work oh and don't forget the daily fresh food you have to prepare for them to be healthy and thrive. Expensive vet bills.. I was about to go on but it's late. So I'll finish with PLEASE make sure to do research and think about it before and if you do then rescue one. Many end up in Rescues waiting for a loving home because people fall for them, get them, then for whatever reason give them up or sell them etc.
    This isn't issues with only conures. 😔
    They can sometimes need training for things or react or do something that you need to figure out why and maybe work around it. Etc
    *but if you end up adopting one having the time, patience, budget, willing, and love, so on. Then you will absolutely love all the positive they can bring. 😅🥰

    • @anthonykryzak273
      @anthonykryzak273 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hate to say it but I think that an experienced bird person is more likely to work around or break an adopted bird of bad habits.. Thats not a reason to deter a novice person from adoption but it could be a longer road before the bird will open up and begin to trust..
      I had an adopted black capped conure that took more than 3 years before she stopped attacking the world and everyone in it and finally came to trust and understand that she was a member of a flock in a loving home and I would never get rid of her..
      It can take a very long time to get certain birds to lower their trust walls if they were ever abused or lacked basic care like so many birds who are surrendered.
      Its also critical that the bird chooses you.. A bond can grow if you just get any random bird but you will never get the same great results that come from a bird that's already landing on you or following you around the room.. you will know when they choose you.. They basically beg you to love them and take them home
      I have seen situations where the bird and owner never stopped hating each other because the person adopted a bird that didn't like him in the first place.

    Lmao, a cockatiel is a beginner parrot, a sun conure is not. They're nippy assholes unless well trained and handled often. Btw, they're VERY LOUD. I had a gold cap which is pretty much a chiller sun conure and he was still a handful.

    quick reminder
    There is nothing as a “beginner bird” all birds are hard and require a lot of research and time, don’t get a bird if you can’t spend the time to play with them.

    If you play with them enough and be very close with them, they’re not too annoying tbf, because you’d be used to them 😂 And they would have used the energy while playing and rest quietly other times, still their screams are like sharp chicken noise. I wouldn’t recommend a dog person having birds, because 9/10 cases they treat the birds horribly and lock them in the cage 24/7. I always leave the cage open and eventually the bird gets used to living with us, and they can go anywhere they want

    Budgies and cockatiels are generally more mellow and lower volume. Tho budgies do chatter.

  • @AndoCommando1000
    @AndoCommando1000 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Honestly, there is no such thing as a “beginner bird.” Even the easiest bird to own is more difficult, demanding and needy than a cat or dog, and their needs and behaviours often aren’t “intuitive” to humans the way cat and dog behaviour can be interpreted by people fairly easily. Having said that, I would not recommend a sun conure as a “beginner bird” even though there is no such thing as beginner birds. A budgie at most. Definitely not a conure.

  • @catsberry4858
    @catsberry4858 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Why do u recommend these bad recommendations for parrots to start with? Always start (if you are truly responsible and ready) with an easier to care for parrot - a cockatiel or a budgie. They are not as high maintenance. Bad job.

    I wish I could get a bird but my parents won’t let me and it would be dangerous considering I have 3 dogs
    If I ever get a bird I won’t clip their wings unless I have a medical reason to, birds that can fly safely should be aloud to fly around your house! If you want a pet that can fly don’t clip their wings unless absolutely necessary and if so get a vet to, birds are meant to fly ❤I would give a big cage for when they need to be in (not a cruel small cage) healthy food enrichment love warmth water and protection from danger

      That's very respectful of you to think about the birds long life and take that into consideration.. Too many folks just get one and that's why the sanctuaries are full of lonely birds who were already bonded with one master, then have a much more difficult time trusting again.
