I've just watched a 1992 episode on Challenge. Poor Les had to deal with what seemed like a pretty drunk family of five young fellas from Liverpool. The other team were young ladies from Norfolk who were quite sensible, but over all the 1982 version seems a lot more sober. I'm guessing at the later studio there was access to a bar before the show :D
Wherever there was a television studio complex built from the 1950s to the 1980s there was a bar. There were certainly bars at ATV Elstree, Broad Street and Lenton Lane.
ATV made episodes late 1981 at Elstree Studios - studio D (now all owned by the BBC). They were transmitted by Central Independent Television in 1982, surprised though that Central did put the logo at the beginning!
@@simonipswich The ATV ident - for those editions still produced by ATV - was replaced by a Central one for the ITV transmission copy from the beginning of 1982, but the 'mastertapes' in the archive retained their ATV one (for future sales by ITC Distributor)
Is that the 45min Boxing Day Special: Give Us a Clue v It Ain't Half Hot Mum episode? Series 3, Episode 2. If so, sadly that episode may been wiped and/or kept in Monkhouse's private collection. 🤔
9:29 - I always wonder why his initials are pronounced one letter at a time and not "double A Milne" even though it's two of the same letter. I mean, we pronounce NCAA as "NC double A" though sometimes we pronounce it one letter at a time. Winnie the Pooh is owned by Disney but was not created by Walt Disney himself. I mean, he created Mickey Mouse but not Winnie the Pooh.
Great host sadly missed by many
Blimey, that ATV logo at the beginning. . . . . Such nostalgia of my nan 🙂
Me too. I used to love watching Family Fortunes with my now late grandmother. Especially when Bob was host
Mr Babbage reminds me of the old information board in the concourse at Euston Station
Limmy You LEGEND!
The Weadocks are my family
you should send these lost episodes to challenge tv! they might air it in time.
That be awesome if they can show these. Make change from seeing Les Dennis version. I even wouldn't mind seeing Max or Andy again
Raj Nirvan Max Bygraves episodes are on Saturday afternoons
Unfortunately the description says it’s Les Dennis when it isn’t
@@renamamiya2023 oh cool thanks for letting me know
Bob speaks a little bit like Yoda at one point.
"That's your game. Also tonight, _Family Fortunes_ is."
31st July 1982 [Original itv broadcast]
What a end of day treat
The series following this (Bob's last) was the last to be filmed at the Elstree studios. Max's first series was the first to be filmed at Lenton Lane.
The first half of Max's series was filmed at Elstree. The other half was made at Lenton Lane.
The programme was spoilt when Max Bygraves took over, he was useless.
One day my mum and dad’s friend saw me in a supermarket, and I thought blimey he’s back alive again, because they look a bit like Bob.
Fantastic
