The Discovery of KING TUT | The Antechamber

  • In November 1922, after five years of searching, Howard Carter and his patron Lord Carnarvon finally discovered the last resting place of Tutankhamun. His tomb was found directly beneath the tomb of Ramesses VI, which had been built much later on. As a result, the debris from the construction had been dumped into the entrance to Tutankhamun’s tomb - a stroke of luck for us today, since the boy king’s tomb does remained intact and hidden for more than 3,000 years.
    This is the antechamber, looking exactly as it did when Howard Carter found it. Inside this chamber alone, Carter and other members of his excavation team found and recorded almost 700 objects: strange-looking animal figures, statues and gold - everywhere the brilliant glint of gold!

    Finally someone talking about the items found in the tomb. There were some 5,000 items and yet the public only knows of a dozen or two.

    • @philiphunter4493
      @philiphunter4493 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A lot of the items found were not noted to the public because they sent to labs and to be tested and another reason was cause of how Black (ethnical) the Items were remember this was 1800s to early 1900s, when we whites were more honest about our racial views. Plus breaking in to these tombs were known as uncivilized due to respecting the past and gone, it's like me coming to a grave yard digging up a loved one of yours displaying him/her to fit my own narrative. It's called RIP for a reason, many of the so called Egyptologist died from mysterious death and even blood poisoning due to burglarizing tombs of very important and even worshipped people

    Love it! And I take it those are are replications of the original. But still beautiful! :) And didn't know that the chamber had been broken into before Howard Carter's and Lord Carnarvon's discovery of it. . Lucky for some reason, they only took a few items and didn't hoard the pieces. Something or someone must have stopped them. Thank God!

      There was an intact seal to the entrance... nobody broke in. Egyptologists now think the tomb wasn't designed for Tut, but for someone else. He had no heirs. Other people, competimg for power, made a rush job in burying him so that they could become king.

    • @ingurlund9657
      @ingurlund9657 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johann.9271 No one got into the burial chamber but they did get into the antechamber. But they got caught in the act and the things were hurriedly put back in by the priests and the tomb resealed.
      I think the robbers then probably died a bad death.

    • @gandolph999
      @gandolph999 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ingurlund9657 Sorry, but you are mistaken.
      Carter noted his observations that there was (in his assessment) indications of robbery in every chamber.
      That includes the Treasury which can only be accessed through the burial chamber.
      The four large wooden shrines that occupied most of the burial chamber were sealed but not uniformally.
      The outermost shrine was sealed. The second (internal) and fourth were not.
      There was gold in every chamber but the supposed robbers squeezed around and ignored walls of gold that covered the shrines.
      But, they bothered to try to carry out heavy vases of (rancid?) wine?
      They supposedly tunneled through meters of rubble but couldn't break into wood?
      There was no robbery.
      The tomb is misunderstood.

      @@gandolph999 slaves that were buried with the pharoh survived? Or were they people that snuck in, and remained hidden during the sealing up of the burial.
      Or were they the people that broke through the wall, and into the tomb that someone replastered and painted which led some people too question at the time if this is some sort of an elaborate hoax.

    they lie about were they found the king and what they found, I got to see a live recording of his tomb and he was found in the servants tomb and it was the servant found in the kings tomb covered in resin, they also found the diary of the king as well that showed they were in contact with four other worlds.
    I did a story on it on my channel if you wish to see it.

      People like you amaze me, why do you think I would need to lie about this, and do you think they tell you the truth about the things they discover and hide nothing, your thinking is the bullshit here I'm afraid.
