- After just a couple of months away, we're now back in Southeast Asia, in what's a brand new city and country for us: Bangkok, Thailand. With big appetites and a little big of jet lag, we're kicking things off with a nighttime street food tour of the city's Chinatown. Live squid, dead scorpions, and a lot in between. I love your travel vlog especially with your kids around and the adventures. My wife and I also did the same thing as what you are doing to travel around the world and explore different cultures and food with our daughter. We travel every 3 months for the past 18 years and my daughter loved it when she was between 4-12 yrs old. When she became a teen, she does not want to travel with us anymore so you better enjoy it with your kids while you can. Again, i enjoyed watching your family's adventure.
Thanks! I think it’s great that you have your daughter all those experiences. We’re going to cherish our travels with our kids as long as we can. As of now, the plan is to continue traveling with them throughout their childhood. But, you know plans can change 🤷♀️ so we’ll have to see where life throws us 😊.

Thailand's China Town was created more than 100 years ago when Thai King gave land to Chinese migrants to settle in the outskirt of the old city Grand Palace. The first road was constructed in the reign of King Rama IV named Charoen Krung Rd and later Yaowarat Rd was constructed to link up with Charoen Krung as well. Since it was/is the commercial hub, Yaowarat Rd was/is one-way traffic even 60 years ago. China Town was the center of rice trade in those days as there is nearby Chao Phraya pier bringing rice from provinces into Bangkok. It is no longer the center of rice trade as road/rail transport is highly developed over the years. For at least 60 years, China Town is the center of gold trading. There are about a dozen of gold shops on Yaowarat Rd selling both bullions and gold ornaments. Daily gold price is prescribed by Gold Trade Association in China Town. For the last decade, Thailand China Town, the largest China Town in the world, is the place to go at night for delicious food/drink. It is arguably the largest open night market in the world. It is estimated that about 10% of Thai people are Chinese descents.

I would like to introduce a traditional Thai dessert called "Bualoy". Available both with and without eggs. For the first time, I recommend trying it without eggs. I have noticed many videos of foreigners, most of them like it very much. Don't forget to try it before leaving Thailand.😊🇹🇭👍

Love those street foods but not everything not the scorpion and live squid ( I’m remembering the squid that my grandmother used to cook with vinegar and a lot of garlic and the black ink it was really yummy) ….. love those noodles too . …. it’s dinner time here where I am it made me hungry

I’m Thai and we don’t eat scorpion, I think there are only in tourist area, may be vendors think that many tourists like to see something extra ordinary from the third world, when there s demand there s supply. 😊
