Good question. Not sure actually and I can't find how. 😅 Magic?
@@redwoodboarding , the reason I ask is because Santa Cruz has a light up wheels and when the magnet comes in contact with the special metal on the wheel the rotation of the wheel causes the wheel to light up.
Yes the light up wheels are powered by magnets , $119 for 4 wheels

Do you think I, a 6'4" 200 lb rider could easily go up a 20-25 percent incline with this board?
For sure! My friend rode and he's almost the exact height and weight. I live in the mountains and the steep hills were not an issue for him.
Starting from an absolute stop on the steepest part took Speed Mode 3 or 4 to get moving. But he could make it up the steepest hills on Mode 1 and 2 with any amount of momentum.
Are the front and tail lights included in all Z model packages ?
They seem to be right now. I got a really nice tow handle and a protective case for the remote with mine as well.
You can see them in my unboxing video, but I'll be making a full accessory video soon. Including the 120mm airless wheels.
Great video, how is the flex, will it support a 230 lbs rider? Or will hit the ground outdoor
Thanks! Flex is pretty soft, it'd probably work for light to medium riding on good conditions. You could cruise for so long on a nice path with this thing.
I think it depends on your stance preference as well. If you prefer feet wide, just fine. If you keep your feet narrow in center, probably not right for you.
Oh crap, just noticed they charge $280 to ship! it's a bit much to be fair. Really wanted this DD board but not likely now🙁
Depending on your country, must be a regulation or import tax because I see it for different countries across a few brands.
Did you get your board in the end? I didn't pay taxes because it's coming from China on the boat. I have about another month and a half yet!
@@moovintruespace994 I got another board but you will only know about the taxes when it has reached the country not before. I got another board from China and i did not pay any taxes.

Questions (yep, few but will restraint myself to 2). Is the throttle response on speed 1 or any, smooth and not jerky? second, can you adjust the speed, brake, power from the remote ? Thank you
Throttle is nicely smooth all the way through 3. Braking is much smoother than my entry level models. The brake level can be adjusted. The rest are set.

I am currently looking to buy a board at around 1000$. I already have the lycaon GR 2021,, but i want more range. I also looked at the balrog X bamboo and the Balrog Z. Can you reccommend some boards around that price range with a good range?
The Balrog Z or X would be perfect. I just filmed a range test and got 33+ miles of range on my Balrog Z, more to come soon.
Is there any adapter for AT wheel ? ( 165mm Meepo Tubeless Cyclone would be great 🤩)
AT wheels on a direct drive would be so cool. You might be a genius

@@redwoodboarding There is Tranzite skateboards that have AT wheels on Direct Drive Motors, the question now is to know what (AT) wheels are compatible.... check out if you're interested....
I have 150mm installed on my DD. Yes you can have AT wheels however keep in mind that you will loose a significant amount of torque. So the question because how fast do you want to accelerate. Ultimately you will be slower off the line and your uphill angle will take a hit.

What's the benefit of direct drive ? l get there abit quieter and maybe easier to push but love to hear your opinion.

Good question.
- Much quieter, almost silent
- Easy to push
- No belt lag
- Ideally maintenance free
- Super high efficiency
Gear drive will address a lot of those issues as well, but can cost a lot more to do the same. And add weight/size.
Hub motors have some of the same benefits, but are limited in power due to space and heat constraints.
I love all types and I think each has their own use cases. I think direct drive is great for someone that wants a clean, smooth, minimalistic style; that still provides good results.
I have one of the very first DD boards but Onsra. With 120mm your case will still get banged up unless your roads, bike paths are squiky clean. The one huge advantage with DD That wasn't mentioned is... When/if your ESC shuts down. You'll free roll to a completely safe stop. Not so with gear drive, belt drive, chain drive. You'll fly off your board and crash hard.

Shit man. Sick video. I just like literally purchased the Posway T3 56 mile range Package just before I saw your video. I want those Light up 105 wheels. I wonder if they will work on the T3?

The wheels are so cool. And they definitely make you more visible at night. The front wheels should work with your T3, but the rear wheels won't since they aren't meant for hub motors that the T3 has.
