+Austin Hitchcock I'm hard wired in with a Cat6 ethernet cable, not a mobile device or something. But it was my bad, I only had it set to 1080p. Looks much better @ 4k. From what I've seen, only 4k video can create good looking 360 video. Kind of sucks that there's not much technology yet to only show 1080p on where the screen is looking so you don't have to buy 6 Gopro 3/4s to record 4k 360 video with decent quality. I think the first company to make a decent fairly affordable 360 cam in 1 unit, software to stitch and view it, and compatible with TH-cam so you can upload at a high quality will make a ton. Actually, just that software would do it, since there are already a few 1080p 360 cams. I'd pay for it for sure.

So, is the bad quality of the 360 videos a result of TH-cam uploading, or the 360 video camera stitching technology?
The quality is reliant upon your internet speed. Try connecting to WiFi. The actual resolution of the full 360 video is closer to 4K

+Aubster yeah 4 k setting is a must. We are all wait for the next codec to come out. It will cut down the files sizes by half. H.265.
