I have seen quite a few elephant documentaries ever since I found out about my husband's obsession with elephants. This Nat Geo is hands-down the coolest best documentary I have seen thus far. Ever. Kudos to Nat Geo keep doing what you're doing cuz you're the best

Honestly, Elephants are my favorite animals because they are extremely smart, excellent memories, excellent hearing, excellent smell, excellent feelings, family oriented and united at the same time. This the reason why I love Elephants is that the are big and strong and will defend their babies and families. I hate that the Lions can see in the night. I don't like when the sun is too hot and the land is too dry.

An elephant in a zoo trapped my little brother behind its ear one time, and I just sat there talking to it for about 30 minutes, and it let him go. After it did, it caressed my face with its trunk. (Understandable, elephants don't really belong here in Canada. I would've been annoyed too.)

Ok ! I'm an Englishman who comes from a small island (UK) that humans eventually found after making our way out of Africa (formerly Pangea). I've driven through Western Europe, North West Africa and have visited the USA. Having met many peoples from across the globe and being privy to the huge expanses of land to be found on Continents, I drove South through West Africa and lived a "Saharan lifestyle" for six weeks when I was an inquisitive 21 year-old. I shared fires , food and water with Moorish friends. I experienced total silence in the desert. I learned to respect the sandy wilderness . I had the luxury of coming home with memories of my experiences and adventures . Those Elephants learn , know and teach . They develop intelligence , memory and technique. Just like me back in my travels , they know that the desert can kill them whenever that desert pleases. Sharing . love , family , friends and togetherness are what keeps them safe . Let us pray that our "gun-happy" American friends can mature as a people and come to realise that shooting an 8 ton unarmed innocent animal is an act of cowardice . This is one of the best documentaries I've seen on elephants. No human interaction, like other animals. I'd love to see more, see how they are when they're totally on their own. For that son to lose his mother, I've seen where mother's have lost babies & carried them around for days. This was sad, but at least it was the law of nature that took her life & not greedy humans who only wanted her tusks. & the mutation of no tusks is also sad. Hopefully when more tusked elephants mate we can wipe that mutation out. Please keep them coming! 🐘😻😻

Every time the lions tries to attack an elephant, i always say “leave them alone!” 🥺 i love how caring they are to each other and how they protect their own ❤️ i love elephants so much! ❤️
A moving documentary; learned so much about elephants, the trade-offs they face and their "humanity" . The herd must keep moving forward at a steady pace, however the babies can't keep up thus becoming vulnerable. The matriarch must strike a balance to both maintain a good speed and ensure the safety of the younglings. Moving to the next water source quickly is so important and yet they give enough time to the baby to grieve for its mother. A water source is of utmost importance but also a source of danger. A good night's rest is essential to carry on the next day but that again makes the herd vulnerable. The same tightly knit herd starts infighting once water becomes scarce. I suppose the natural bias we all feel towards elephants in all the conflicts is because they are herbivorous and don't ever initiate an attack. Also, the are not vengeful and stop pursuit as soon as the lions give up. I feel bad as their lives must be getting harder and harder with increasing temperatures due to global harming. Really hope these majestic creatures can survive this danger and we can bring global warming under control before it's too late for them.

I love how they can communicate for miles with their low pitch rumbles . Everything about elephants amazes me . They’re affection for one another, if a baby elephant loses it’s mother, the herd continues to care for it . And how they all mourn their deceased.

I can’t even think of a good conspiratorial reason someone would copy paste comments like this, because it’s not like TH-cam accounts gain points of some kind that could be converted to money.
All I can guess is some kind of AI, AI training, or possibly a bot farm being developed and they need a few recent comments in each account history to look human if someone clicks on the profile.

A moving documentary; learned so much about elephants, the trade-offs they face and their "humanity" . The herd must keep moving forward at a steady pace, however the babies can't keep up thus becoming vulnerable. The matriarch must strike a balance to both maintain a good speed and ensure the safety of the younglings. Moving to the next water source quickly is so important and yet they give enough time to the baby to grieve for its mother. A water source is of utmost importance but also a source of danger. A good night's rest is essential to carry on the next day but that again makes the herd vulnerable. The same tightly knit herd starts infighting once water becomes scarce.
I suppose the natural bias we all feel towards elephants in all the conflicts is because they are herbivorous and don't ever initiate an attack. Also, the are not vengeful and stop pursuit as soon as the lions give up.
I feel bad as their lives must be getting harder and harder with increasing temperatures due to global harming. Really hope these majestic creatures can survive this danger and we can bring global warming under control before it's too late for them.

Tengo debilidad por los elefantes , en general por todo animal que sea presa, el alerta y la defensa continua, amo las jirafas, los venados, las liebres, los conejos, las ardillas, los caballos, las cebras .. así es la humanidad, despiadados humanos que devoran presas humanas en todos los ámbitos y destruyen el planeta, poderosos..cada día admiro más a los elefantes y muchas cosas no sabía aunque vengo viendo muchos videos sobre ellos...
