    Check around the trim above the door. On my driver side I had water Leaking onto the floor and found the leak in the trim above the door, kind of above the door mirror area. You could see what looked like foam sticking out. That was the factory insulation breaking down and allowing water leakage inside and down along the inside the door frame and onto the floor. Local glass shop removed the rubber seal above window and unscrewed the trim. Pulled out the old stuff and silicone caulked the complete area, reinstalled trim and rubber and leg dry. Water tested with hose once dry and no more leaks.

      I tried that, took off the two grommets under that cowl, replaced 10 new grommets under the cowl, still get wet passenger floor n sjb connector wet. Planning to seal the passenger door grommet and the grommet where the wire loops through it into the passenger panel right above the sjb. I believe that’s my culprit.

    Mine just started leaking - Thanks for the video.

    If you ever solve it can you post another video. I’ve done those steps too and I just replaced my passenger door seal to see if that helps.

    I agree with Autosource. Shame on Ford for selling the door window gaskets for $100+ each when they should be under a free warranty service.

    Yes, type in 2005 Mustang floor leak ... first few guys show very easy way to take care of it because the drain go down through the sides of the car and the hold from from to side and back. One used a hose and spay out the plugged hole.

    Check the door seal. I have the same problem on my 2005 GT hard top. I did the 2 things you did and still get water coming in. So I'm trying the door seals.

    I too have tried all of the methods you have and still leaking. Passenger floor and sjb connector gets wet after heavy rain and car wash. Have you tried sealing the grommet on the door where the wires loop through and the grommet where the wire comes out of right above the sjb? It tends to leak there as well. I’m going to gorilla tape the grommets where the wire comes in and out of and put seam sealers to seal them. I’ll update if any leaks still happens if anyone wants to know.

    Could it be the rubber arms of the cowel cover that is faulty. The ones going into the grommets you replaced????

  • @cruzanity7478
    @cruzanity7478 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is very odd, maybe it does have to do with the window. I have not encountered this problem yet. Hopefully you find the solution.

    good job , but why do you remove the carpet ? it was some damage in electric system ? or just for clean it and dry everything ?

    Im having the same issue.. but i have a Convertible. My next step is to replace the grommets and seal it off like you did. Hope it helps, gets annoying.
    Did you also hear water slide from left to right and vice versa when you took a corner?

    • @mdindestin
      @mdindestin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have an 05 convertible and I heard the sloshing after a ton of rain from Hurricane Sally here in Florida. I went around a turn and water poured out on the passenger floorboard. Since then, I cleaned out the debris, drained the water, and will report back if I still hear it - I rarely drive it.

    • @patmissaski
      @patmissaski 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crazy. I have a convertible and there is a lot of water I hear sliding around when I take a corner. Lots of rain where I live currently. It sounds like it's very high up near the windshield and not lower by the firewall. I'm so glad someone else hears it cause it's so loud and seems like its right under my dashboard! How can all this water be sitting there and not draining on my feet?

      @@patmissaski i replaced my grommets almost a year ago. But didnt fix nu issue. I still have the same issue what you discribed. Driving me nuts. Sound like its really up high under dash

    I can’t tell from the video, but you may have missed 2 of the grommets that are on the far corners underneath the hood hinge. Any luck on the fix?

      @yengvang82 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did all of these too and doesn’t solve my issue. Does your sjb or sjb connector get wet? Mine does. I figured out that there’s a grommet right above the sjb where the door wires come out of was ripped. I gorilla taped and seam sealed it. Also seam sealed all of my door wire grommets as well. No more leaks!

    I had the same problem my door was filling up with water And spilling into wire harness to inside car, i removed grommets on bottom of door And whole bunch of water poured out.no more wet inside car.

    Did you fix this? If not there's a channel between the fender and the fuses for the stereo that get blocked up. There's a TSB for it.

    • @edbreyer
      @edbreyer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you have the TSB number or link?

  • @mdindestin
    @mdindestin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    At 5:40, why do we see water still there? The TSB talks of water being down in the cowl channel which can be heard sloshing around. I'm thinking that water backed up into that cowl channel on your car before you fixed the cause. The primary fix was what you did to that compartment below the AC filter by cleaning out the debris at the bottom and in the rubber drain tube and letting the water drain.
    The water in the cowl channel maybe will not drain and remain for a long time until it evaporates. Notice the TSB also talks about siphoning that water out in some instances.
    In other words, you fixed the issue already, you just need to take the next step and siphon out that remaining water down in the channel. Keep the conversation going so we can learn.

    Take off trim above the doors and possibly replace foam and chaulk behind trim.

      Hey yes i did, you have water collected under the passenger or driver carpet?

    • @WilliamsSwamp
      @WilliamsSwamp 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @seanmichael7263 yes. Yesterday I found the main wiring grommet in the kick panel was allowing water inside and also into body channel under passenger seat. But if you have found another FORD FAILURE let me know. I'm fixing everything possible so it doesn't happen again.

      I posted 2 short vids showing the corner that was causing the leak in the video. Since applying auto seam sealer specifically in that corner, no leaks and tight as a drum! Let me know if that helps and good luck!

    Anyone know where water could becoming into the the back wheel wells and under the spare tire in the trunk?I fixed all the other leak issues .Please anyone know how to fix my trunk leak ?

    • @djboogiejay1616
      @djboogiejay1616 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Water flows to the lowest point which in your case is the trunk wheel well. There are to rubber plugs back there. Pull them out and the water will drain. One plug has a wire going into it but it can be pulled out. More than likely the water is coming from the same compartment as this guys. The water usually comes in from that compartment where the cabin filter is. You also have a compartment on the driver’s side. The driver’s side houses your wiper motors. It has the same rubber plug. If it fills and doesn’t drain properly it can short out your wiper motors. Happened to me awhile back.

    You have to leave those two grommets in place. That's why you are having the leak.
