great stuff, as usual, just bought myself a Tx 200, and am really enjoying the sport again after a 15yr break from air rifle hunting, the patience and stalking skills needed to get get close enough to your quarry i find really rewarding, keep the vids coming,Tim.
@MasterMark915 I know, i've seen so many messes left behind shooters of empty shotgun cases, dead birds and other left overs from their lunch, makes me sick even though its not my land. But it dose tar use all with the same brush in the eyes of the owner, no wander so many people mail me that they can't get shooting permission. Anyway thanks for the very nice comment and the scope on this rifle is an old Tasco 4,5_18x50 Big Horn.
Thirty-odd favourable comments from 200 views....that must tell you something about how widely respected your videos are! Another great video and excellent commentary. Without wanting to seem too sycophantic, I really think you have a great voice for this type of thing. Great accent!
Thanks for another great video HuntersVermin. I usually use a Shotgun for pigeon shooting, but i have just bought a brand new HW100S in .177 calibre. I think i'll have a go with that sometime, as it is extremely accurate at different ranges. Just got to get it zeroed in first. Keep the videos coming mate.
Well done David, another excellent video and the cat was an added interest. Also, I agree with you about taking litter home with you. It really annnoys me when I see the amount of litter left by irresponsible people in the countryside.
@GuyF21 I build the hide into the hedge using three cammo nets and four adjustable hide pools. I use two of the nets for the walls of the hide and the third as a roof, then disguise it with what ever weeds i can find. The dead birds can be set out as a decoy by using a short stick or piece of stiff wire pushed into the ground and the birds chin to prop up their heads. Glad you liked the videos.
Great video this one, I watched it when it was first time last year and the cat scaring still made me laugh, love it so funny. Just need a hide now myself and some decoy practice and hopefully get a few myself. ATB David . Michael.
@britelite2657 Yeap if hit right they just flop down, but i,ve always found it hard to get just the right place for the heart, plus sometimes the stubble is so high all you can see is the head. Glad you liked the vid.
@Mcphlange I have sat for over 5 hours some days, it just depends what the weathers like and how much action you see. But you can only decoy wood pigeons down to an area where they are feeding, Weather that be a barley field like here, or my be fresh clover in a grassy field in the spring.
@JosephAD Here i was using a couple of the Ghost nets, they have a have a fine mesh layer behind the camo which works well, then i hung an old die cut leaf pattern net over that which makes the hide nice and dark inside.
@authun Yeah it was funny. The decoys i set up in a rough U or V shape facing roughly into the wind so the birds should land in the hollow bit of the pattern, with in range of your hide. The dead birds i set up using a stiff piece of wire pushed into the ground and the birds chin to keep their heads up. This time of year the pigeons should be feeding at the oak and beech trees in good numbers.
good shooting buddy yet another top class video really enjoyed it , like the fact you put shots that you miss in would be easy to edit them out but thats why I like your videos so much your a real shooter and tell it like it is. also very good point about the rubbish its not only shooters its everyone bring back paper packing thats what I say anywa\ys i'll say this is another 10 out of 10 buddy keep em coming
@JosephAD I would use up to 3 nets for a hide, two of which i would use for the wall of the hide hung over garden canes or hide poles and the third i use for the roof of the hide to cut out as much light as possible, then use what ever weeds you can get to help the whole thing blend in with the hedge behind it. I usually cut a few small holes in the net then to see and shoot clearly out of.
Excellent point about the trash; if you pack it in, pack it out when you leave. Even if it's not your rubbish, it only buys good favor to pick up any you find, as well.
@CHOPERUS23 Yeah its a mk2 model that i bought some years ago from Sandwell Fieldsports. Its one of their super 10 customs, with a custom stock and silencer. It was a 12ft/lb gun from new but when Tony at Sandwell serviced it for me a few years ago it produced 14ft/lb, but since i have it on my FAC anyway we left it at that. I think it cost just under £600 but i've had it for some time. It's .22cal and i use AirArms Diabolo Field at the minute.
David, I haven't seen a video of how you clean and cook pigeons the Irish way. I eat them as well but I'd like to see how you do it...might learn a good recipe or two. If you need a video project this would be a good one. Take care friend.
@01480Casey I know its hard to believe, when you look at how many people have subscribed and view my videos when i haven't even been doing this for a full year yet. I never thought that so many would enjoy my videos from so many different places. Thanks for the great comment.
Nice shooting mate. That looked like a nice relaxing day, just your own company in the hide. I loved how you knocked one down, then converted him to an instance decoy... and repeat. Nice job. Top video! Thanks for sharing! 👍
@beavereater6969 Yeah i really enjoy decoying pigeons to the air rifle, but poking squirrels out of their nests would give you a lot of very fast action. Thanks for the comment.
@markydo86 As far as i can read on the manufactures website both the SMK XS19 Custom and Custom Carbine Hunter have around a full 12ft/lb of energy which is plenty for hunting rabbits and wood pigeons out to 35-40 yards if you can shoot accurately enough with it at that range.
As always... Excellent Vid, and editing. You have another fellow hunter tipping his hat at you. Thank you for pointing out about the "rubbish." What inconsiderate people don't realize is that if they don't clean up after themselves, it will make the landowner skeptical about letting the next guy on the property. The cat portion was hilarious. Much like the cat I almost pissed myself... But from laughter. Finally, I would like to know what kind of scope are you using? Thanks, and Happy Hunting.
@crazyrider100 You weren't out after pigeons with the .243 were ya, there wouldn't be much left to take home after a good shot. Glad you enjoyed the vid.
@farookbulsasra Dome heads every time, as they are the most accurate, and if you can't hit what your aiming at it wouldn't matter what shape your pellet is. But if you are shooting at close range around farm buildings at rats or feral pigeons, you could try the hollow or flat headed pellets for maximum stopping power.
Sometimes a chest or spine shot is good as birds can jerk their heads at the sound of the hammer hitting the valve. I've downed many pigeons with a heart shot. They drop fast! Great shooting anyhow keep the vids coming!
@HuntersVermin Thanks for the reply. Do you use .177 at all for hunting? I use the tiny calibre for everything now, just fell for its higher velocity and great long distance ability. I use A daystate Airwolf, AA Mpr Ft and AA S410K all in .177 I have many videos up which will hopefuly entertain you Sir. My favourite is my 100 yard grouping using the Airwolf which came out at 3/4 of an inch :-) Happy hunting and keep the excellent Videos Coming.
Your videos are great, nice to just sit down relax and watch.... must be great to set up and peacefully have a quiet day of shooting out in the field? :) Your advice is good on the liter too, hate seeing rubbish in the beautiful countryside :(
@farookbulsasra It shouldn't really in a spring gun as custom air gun makers found that spring guns only needed about 7-8 inches of barrel to get to full power. Plus the shorter the barrel the less time it takes for the pellet to leave the gun so the quicker the lock time and less likely hood of the gun being pulled off aim during the firing cycled.
@123hw80 I use about 10-12 full bodied flocked decoys, which i find the best for air gun use. Try shopping around on the net for the best deals out there.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ....... That was fraking funny...........Nice one. "I bet it will be a wee while befor you'll mess with a mouse again" Im surprised the moggy didnt even bother with the birds out in the field.... I hate litter big. There is a shop across the road form me. And every day I see kids and adults just throw rubbish on the ground with 3...count them 3! rubbish bins all inside 15 ft radius of where they exit the shop. Anyway. Good video mate.
@BSALIGHTINGXL It really depends on the caliber and power of your rifle, but with a 12ft/lb .22 you will have to aim slightly low at 22 yards but your best setting out targets every 5 yards and shoot them to see where your gun and pellet hits at different ranges.
@kayster111 No we never see any carrion crows here in NI for some reason. You might be able to use shooting sticks with a spring rifle if you use them to steady the back of your hand rather than the rifle its self.
Good shooting. Here in the States it is illegal to shoot doves (we have mourning dove and white-wing dove) while they are on the ground, they call it "pot shooting". I'd love to be able to hunt them the way you can in Northern Ireland.
@xSANDYS1 Good pigeon decoys for an air rifle hunter to use are the full bodied flocked type of decoy as they look far more realistic than the cheaper shell decoys. Try Decoying. co. uk and Uttings. com.
@ellzstudios You could try both but start with stalking to find where you are likely to find the rabbits. First light and a couple of hours before dark are the best times to try.
There is a General Licence but you don't buy it just obey it rules as you need a good reason to shoot what ever you are after ie protection of crops, livestock etc, you can read more about it on the BASC website under codes of practice.
3:50, I'll lay 4-1 odds that kitty goes nowhere near that field for a good two weeks...lmao Another great vid. Thanx for showing how it's suppose to be done.
great stuff, as usual, just bought myself a Tx 200, and am really enjoying the sport again after a 15yr break from air rifle hunting, the patience and stalking skills needed to get get close enough to your quarry i find really rewarding, keep the vids coming,Tim.
you are an air rifle hunting legend your shooting and the way you present your videos is fantastic well done!!!
Excellent!!! Your calm and laid back Narrative makes your vids a pleasure to watch

love your videos, love how you show respect for all your quarry aswell, we need some more videos like yours
Thanks for another great video HuntersVermin. I usually use a Shotgun for pigeon shooting, but i have just bought a brand new HW100S in .177 calibre. Always enjoy your videos mate, relaxing and respectful. Good clean shooting and a good attitude, you're a credit to shooting.
I would never ever miss any of your videos
I heart you man
the cat trick was just so funny but it goes to show how effective the hide actually is. Great video's ar per mate :) !
Another great video, your respect for the animals and the countryside is top class. (Y)
Best airgun hunting vids on youtube, well done HV, got yourself another fan!
Well done David, another excellent video and the cat was an added interest. Also, I agree with you about taking litter home with you. It really annnoys me when I see the amount of litter left by irresponsible people in the countryside.
Haha loved the cat bit too! It acts like snap in your video of your cats :D
one of your best vids so far! great fun to watch
@RDPproject Yeah they don't even look for a bin it just falls from their hand when they have finished with it. Thanks and glad you liked the video.
Excellent video and great to see promoting proper respect for the land and wildlife.....
Cheers friend,
Love your vids, I've recommended you to my mates who also do air rifle shooting. Thanks :)
the cat thing had me larfing tears in me eyes quality mate keep it up
@lewandlo Yeah i must have a look at one thanks and glad you liked the video.

@TheProcock Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
@crovo61 Thank you very much, i'm glad you liked it.
Sorry but this is a hunting channel not politics.
@britelite2657 Yeap if hit right they just flop down, but i,ve always found it hard to get just the right place for the heart, plus sometimes the stubble is so high all you can see is the head. Glad you liked the vid.

@Dogeggz Thank you very much for that, glad you enjoyed them.
@garychaff Thanks, glad you liked it.
Thank you and good luck with your new rifle.
@RSROBXR2 Thanks and glad you enjoyed it.
@JosephAD Here i was using a couple of the Ghost nets, they have a have a fine mesh layer behind the camo which works well, then i hung an old die cut leaf pattern net over that which makes the hide nice and dark inside.

Cheer's, Rob.

@AirRifleHunter1 Thanks, glad you enjoyed ti.
@beevisvonbeever Thanks, glad you liked it, and i'l look forward to seeing your vids.
this video is really good. enjoyed it i like what you did with the cat and your a goot shooter
@matapatapa Thank you, i'm glad you liked it.
good shooting buddy yet another top class video really enjoyed it , like the fact you put shots that you miss in would be easy to edit them out but thats why I like your videos so much your a real shooter and tell it like it is.

I loved how you knocked one down, then converted him to an instance decoy... and repeat. Nice job. Top video! Thanks for sharing! 👍
Yeah it was nice to have the field to myself for a change instead of someone firing hail out over me every 10 minutes as has happened in the past.
@UKAirHunter Thank you. plus it doesn't spoil the meat.
@beavereater6969 Yeah i really enjoy decoying pigeons to the air rifle, but poking squirrels out of their nests would give you a lot of very fast action. Thanks for the comment.
great shooting once again this one is defo going in my fav box 10/10

your videos are great how you give tips and commentate rather than playing heavy metal music ha, keep it up mate :)
@calibreman I wonder if they will ever have an open season for litter bugs, No just kidding, glad you enjoyed the vid.
@ploetzlich30 Thanks for the nice comment and the thumbs up, and the pigeons are in the freezer .
Superb video once more, joy to watch
@BSALIGHTINGXL Thank you, glad you enjoyed them.
@carbonrocket Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
@RaZZoRHaM It is a BSA super 10 mk2, but they don't make it any more. It has been replaced by the R10 modle.
and again an amazing video!!!!
PMSL That Cat pooped itself. Great Shooting Great Video as usual.
Thumb'd and Faved 5/5
Tamryn
Hunter is again back!! :D
@hatsan38 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
@crazyrider100 You weren't out after pigeons with the .243 were ya, there wouldn't be much left to take home after a good shot. Glad you enjoyed the vid.
My uncle was such a marksman he would always say he could thread a pellet through a pigeons arsehole without damaging the pigeons O ring.
@HuntersVermin Thanks for the reply -- do you use the clearview style nets or the looser mesh ones?
@farookbulsasra Dome heads every time, as they are the most accurate, and if you can't hit what your aiming at it wouldn't matter what shape your pellet is. But if you are shooting at close range around farm buildings at rats or feral pigeons, you could try the hollow or flat headed pellets for maximum stopping power.

Ahh i loved what you did to the cat! How do you set up your decoys? Also do you have any hints and tips on how to decoy birds.
@jamielyndondownes Thanks very much for that nice comment.
@MultiAirGunner Yeah it was funny, the camcorder is a JVC 330 hard drive model but i think the newer one is the 630 now.
@123hw80 I use about 10-12 full bodied flocked decoys, which i find the best for air gun use. Try shopping around on the net for the best deals out there.
@Joeypc85 I started out using a springer when i was 14, an HW80 and still practice with it regularly, but stick with my two PCP rifles for hunting.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA .......
That was fraking funny...........Nice one.
"I bet it will be a wee while befor you'll mess with a mouse again"

3.42 cracked me up !!! good shooting nice headshots as always :)
@topcatcully Thats great that you've got back to the sport, and you've got a great gun for the job too. good luck with your hunting.

@MADtrippin Yes that sounds like its close to the UK legal limit which is perfect for small game like rabbits and squirrels.
@homiepower Hi, glad you like the videos.
Good point, i have heard of farmers complaining about the mess some shooters have left behind them and i don't want to be one of them.
excellent video mate! you have a rapid with a camo stock which it FAC i think, is the super10 FAC too?
@MrBigRifle Hi, its a BSA super 10 mk2, in .22 cal with about 14ft/lb of energy.
