This has become a favorite thing to do for me on youtube. Every month or so checking Neom progress videos on youtube and always finding the same. Breathless hype pitch, cg footage and a few blink and you miss it seconds of a ditch in the desert. Such exciting progress, really revolutionary.
Shame they forgot to mention how much most of the projects scaled back and failing already

Ksa is just starting building itself into a more diverse and modern arab country. Before, there is too much restraint. Now new leaders opened their mind.they can not depend on oil only, sooner their oil reserved will be gone. What should they do. So it is not difficult to predict that people will not walk in open spaces. Build more tourist buildings close together in the area and afforeste the area. Also build a bridge with corn. Every part of the bay is a tourism area.

@@bdaryaljmy8108 That's yet to be seen. The projects are a long way out and it will take a long time to make the money back. I'd personally focus a lot more on infrastructure for the average person and not just for the mega rich. And put a good chunk of money into an index fund or something.

For instance, why build a city in the shape of a line on one of the world's most inhospitable pieces of land. No access to food, water. The nearest city incredibly far. No port resources, and what they're calling the Port of Neom is far from the site.
The hyperloop is scraped, but to serve this "city" in under 20 minutes as has been proposed would take a train going faster than the speed of sound and subject passengers to significant G forces.
Neom is a nightmare that I hope your people can wake up from.
