I can’t help but think that all these projects would clash with Saudi culture and lifestyle, unless Saudi Arabia becomes another UAE, a country filled with foreigners.

Excuse me… I’m Saudi and we aren’t clashing with these things. Also, did you know Saudi has more foreigners than UAE? Saudi currently has 13.4 million foreign population. Those aren’t tourists. Those are people who live here.
(Edit: almost half the population are foreigners. That’s before opening up for tourism)
Also, Saudi gets extra 2.5 million visitors during hajj season. Let that sink in.

These seem like projects more rooted in the dreams of someone wealthy enough to build them but also not grounded enough to understand the realities and logistics of running these resorts. Many if not all of these will fail, and they’ll fail because there aren’t enough people with enough money to support them all in close enough proximity. I bet some will succeed, but not all. They’re giving too many choices and spreading themselves too thin. It leads to analysis paralysis on the side of consumers. These seem like the sets of movies, not places that could actually function. I think with the line, it’s too big too quickly and the debt service on that project will sink it before it really gets going. People choose to live in places because of family and jobs. It takes a lot for an entire family, grandparents, aunts, uncles…etc to move to a new unproven city. Most people who could afford to move, are well established where they are. It will take a long time to fill that city and by that time the debt service will sink the project. Having said that, if I didn’t have to travel so far, I’d love to stay at some of those places, they look incredibly cool.

I am one who believes in humanity, moving forward and growth and opportunities for everyone. The architectural display of these projects are beautiful no doubt, simple, simply beautiful. By the time these projects come to fruition, the world may be different with various changes in thought because of generational changes which may impact new ways of thinking. Let’s hope that it is truly positive, supportive, and for the greater good. If this happens, one can only hope that others meaning, the less fortunate will also have better opportunities. Obviously, this is not for every class, but can help promote the lives of those who may be assisting in the making of such beautiful structures that may be the inspiration for a new world

On the other hand wasting money while millions of people of Gaza are starving is quiet inadequate for me as a person ... We learnt that being an architect means feel the humanity and try to simplify the humans life so ... May Allah guide everyone to be human first

THOSE ARE TOURIST DESTINATIONS AND WONT TAKE MORE THAN 5 BILLION EACH. HAVE YOU SEEN A HOTEL MORE THAN 5 BILLION ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD AWAY FROM VEGAS? I HAVE NOT. I MEAN NEWYORK BUILDINGS ARE EXPENSIVE BUT BIG HOTELS WITH 5 THOUSAND PLUS ROOMS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IN VEGAS AND NOW MACAU.
      ----------
NONE OF THEM ARE AS BIG AS THEM BUT THESE ARE MORE SPACIOUS AND LUXURIOUS. SO 10 PROJECTS *10 BILLION IS VERY DOABLE.
      ------------
ALL THE SPECUALTIONS WILL END WHEN YOU SEE COUPLE OF PROJECTS AT LEAST BY WINTER ASIAN GAMES AND THEN EXPO IN 2026!!! ALL THESE PROJECTS ARE DOABLE WITHIN 4 YEARS IF YOU HAVE NO INTERRUPTIONS AND WORKFORCE IS AVAILABLE WITH FUNDS. THE FLOATING DOCK MAY TAKE TIME AND LINE IS A BIG THING.
OTHER THAN THEM ALL ARE DOABLE. THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT THEN BUILDING GIANT AIRPORTS WHICH CHINA DOES ON YEARLY BASIS.
TURKEY BUILT A GIANT AIRPORT OTHER DAY COSTING 66 BIL. CHINA BUILDING WHAT NOT I LOST COUNT.
      ------------
SO WHEN SOME OF THESE THINGS ARE DONE YOU WILL KNOW WHO WILL VISIT. IT IS NOT FAR FETCHED TO THINK PEOPLE WILL COME CONSIDERING DUBAI ATTRACTS STAGGERING 100 MILLION VISITORS PER YEAR AND BURJ KHALIFA ALONE NEARING 20 MILLION VISITORS AND GENERATING MORE THAN 750 MILLION DOLLARS PER ANNUM WHEN IT COST A BIL TO BUILD. SO IT HAS ALREADY PAID AND MORE TO COME.
      --------------
SO THEY ARE DOABLE. AND THERE WILL BE VISITS. AS SAUDI ARABIA HAS MECCA AND THAT ATTRACTS LOT OF DEVOTEES.
SO THEY ALREADY KNOW ABOUT LARGE VISITS.
THIS IS EXPANSION AFTER A LONG LONG TIME COMPARED TO DUBAI SO THEY DO NOT WANNA LEFT BEHIND NOW WITH ALL THE MONEY THAT IS THERE AT THEIR DISPOSAL.
      -------------
THE SAUDI SOCCER LEAGUE IS A HIT AND RONALDO WHO IS PAID STAGGERING 250 MIL IS IN HIS SECOND SEASON.
MORE WILL JOIN. SO IT IS DOABLE.
      ------------
IF NOT NOW, WHEN? IT HAS COME TO THAT.
