Not sure if I saw it mentioned anywhere in the video but Washington’s OL coach followed Grubb to Seattle and he did a great job with that group at the college level.
One more note about Leonard Williams is this staff obviously loves him. They feature his picture at the stadium when they replaced all the pictures. I also believe they made him a captain. Probably going to be elevated in this scheme
I too was a huge Byron Murphy fan. Actually wanted the bears to take him if Odunze was gone by 9 with a trade down. His tape was so explosive and he was quick for his size with lots of power. He was stallin some double teams as well. I’m excited to see what he does in the NFL
Fair breakdown there are lot of ifs that have to go right when talking about Seattle and if it does we are competing. Couple of pushbacks though - JSN came back from a broken hand and still had a cast on until October. Past the mid point of the season you can tell he got his mojo back. We saw some flashes of contested ability so he can do it. He just is rarely put into that spot. - Kenneth Walker bouncing narrative is over done. The film doesn’t lie. Shane had an obsession inside zone. Kenneth is very very efficient when running towards the outside when you give him the option to pick a gap. Seattle just doesn’t do that. And when you have a terrible IOL you just can’t do that. I’d rather Kenneth bounce then to run head on into a 330 point nose in a gap. Zach even couldn’t knife through the terrible holes. And had blocking tendencies they both didn’t trust their OL to hold a block. Some plays they were being touched while getting to the LOS - Riq was benched because of a shoulder injury. He got surgery on it as soon as the season ended. Still needs a lot of work in that department. But that was the reason.
Coming from a 49ers fan, this feels early for the seahawks. Granted, new HC is a big reason. They definitely have a lot of young talent he can utilize. (I say all this before watching).

I'm surprised you didn't mention Genos league leading 5 4th quarter comebacks or how he was one of the most pressured quarterbacks in the league yet had one of the lowest sack percentages
As a huge Hawks fan I don’t think you’re low on them at all. Winning is always the best outcome, but I’m not expecting that this year. If we can lock down some key pieces on the o line and McDonald elevates our defense I’ll be happy
I’m still not out on Howell, he could develop nicely behind Geno and really did a lot of things right before falling apart. Not to mention the seahawks likely aren’t gonna be in a position to draft a potential QB of the future, but definitely high enough to draft a premier defensive piece.
There’s a lot of teams with better weapons. Off the top of my head, 49ers, Vikings, Texans, Rams, Dolphins, Bucs, Bengals, Raiders, Eagles, Lions, and Bears have better receiver groups
@colemathews3880 I'd definitely take the Rams' weapons over the Seahawks as a neutral fan. I agree with you on the Buccs tho, I like Evans but I'm not sold on White and I like the youth of JSN over Godwin. I think seahawk fans massively overrate Metcalf, tbh. He's not a dominant #1 guy. Hell, I honestly wonder if he's the best WR they have some times. You don't feel that way about Kupp, and honestly I don't feel that way about Puka even though it's only been a year. So, yeah. Rams weapons > Seahawks weapons.
I think this is a case where people don't seem to realize how bad the play-calling was. Canales took his great QB play with him to Tampa. With the addition of JSN, Jake Bobo & the great receiving HB Zach Charbonnet somehow Waldron accomplished less. A _lot_ less. & never got any running game going either. Hunh. Be thankful that he's gone & enjoy the disaster about to appear in Chicago.
Finally someone who sees Geno as a qb that has everything you could want and understands that the oline and play calling was shit. I’m not saying he is top 5 but I don’t see how if he gets time and just decent play calling how he can’t be top 10.
I think there is a lot of potential with this team. I think MacDonald could improve the defense A LOT. Also the offense has a lot of weapons, their production will be dependent upon a healthy offensive line.
@@vsauce4678 I don’t know, I was a giant Pennix fan coming out. I wouldn’t be shocked if he lights it up whenever he gets his chance (though I’m not expecting it to be this season or anyone soon tbh)
Question if you see this, how do you choose which 3 games you do the all 22 breakdown for the teams. Do you take a top performance, bottom performance, and a middle one or is it random or something else? Always wondered
During and after the NFL season he watches every single game, and he watxhes his 3 as a refresher. I would presume he has some memory of how they played in the game and picks the ones where the player show cases their true skill. Could be wrong just what I assume
One small thing I'd point out, and I don't blame you for missing this because he got injured fairly early on in the year, Jerrick Reed was ELECTRIC as a special teams guy. The coverage team sorely missed him.
after watching it, yeah, the Oline does really drag us down… here’s hoping for improvement, as well as the LB core, which is very middling as you pointed out.
Mike MacDonald is gonna have a FIELD DAY with Devon on his roster, add another safety(love the Simmons idea) and get a true #1 EDGE and this has long term best D in the league potential.
I feel like you are a bit high on Dre'mont jones and low on Jarran Reed. But besides that the ranking I think makes sense. However there is no way the seahawks are going to lose against some against the teams ranked higher than them.
Can some1 explain to me how a WR room of DK, Lockett, JSN, etc. is only an average room? Seems low to me Not a seahawks fan or anything but thats a damn good WR trio
I miss the "Team's Splits" chart?!?! Was it not mentioned here after completing the defense's ratings and before the schedule? In previous deep dives, this was when the "Team's OVR Splits" chart was shown! Regards!
Absolutely love the content and fantastic breakdown of the Seahawks. Few things I disagree with but the majority you were absolutely spot on. 1. First and foremost I think this is a 10-13 win team here. It's an overall improvement from both the roster and coaching staff compared to last year, which we should have won 12 games if not for Jason Myers shanking FGs and Waldron calling a play on fourth down vs Dallas that purposely meant to have Parsons come blocker free. 2. I appreciate someone who isn't a Seahawks fan giving Geno his credit, because it's more than due. To me though he is more like QB12-QB15. QB18 seem very low for him, especially considering just how poor his pass blocking and offensive play calling was last year. I was very pleased you brought up his top tier pocket awareness and arm ability. I get laughed at by my friends when I say he has one of the best arms in the league. 3. K9 bounced all those runs outside last year because the run blocking as you stayed was bottom four in the league. There's only been one person who has rushed for 150+ yards vs a Mike MacDonald offense these past few years at Michigan and Baltimore, and it's K9. I think he is set for a true breakout and I truly hope they scheme outside runs for him so he doesn't have to always feel the need to bounce it out side because Shane Waldron just called HB dive on second and long for the fourth time that game.
I met K'Von Wallace at a grocery store in Nashville a couple of months ago. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

What i expect from the Seahawks is can they as top 12 defense and top 15 offense which I think they can be their definitely a top 20 team and i got them making the playoffs fighting for the last plYoffs spot
Man, ain't that the truth. Watching what Jim Schwartz was able to do with buffalo's defense, and then watching Rex Ryan drop Mario Williams into coverage once he took over will forever make me think I could run an NFL team one day. Such an ego.
JSN had 628 yds his rookie season as the 3r WR option while also having 3 good TEs on the team. What are you talking about disappointing, That's what most people expected in that situation. you didn't have some wise great take he had a rookie wr season and played like an rookie wr whos not the number 1 option like flowers was.
As a texans fan, I truly believe JSN can be a great WR if you give him a really good quarterback and you will get the best out of him just like in his one year college game and we have seen that in my opinion
Another NFC team revealed-that makes 7 in the bottom 12, with the Falcons, Bears, Cowboys, Lions, Packers, Rams, Vikings (just saw them at #20, so 8 of 13), Eagles, and 49ers yet to be revealed. Seems like the NFC is the more top-heavy conference.
Even taking all of this with a grain of salt because we’re assuming worst case scenario, it still feels disrespectful seeing how this team won 9 games last year with a coaching staff that looked like they were actively trying to lose games
I was hoping to get my team later on, but deep down I knew we don’t deserve to be much better than this… last year was very frustrating and I’m not sure I should expect major upgrade this season.
1) Draft Carter! Trade or do whatever was needed to get that done! ✔️ they needed something and that #20 pick would have meant so much! BOTH of Phillys picks could have been ours! And we still keep JSN and Charbonet. Hall? Will see!
idk why so many hawks fans are suprised by this ranking, we have a good baseline but we also have a lot of major questions that could really impact how our season goes

@@JohnAC4 Raiders, Buccaneers no TE's RB's part of weapons too
I think this is a case where people don't seem to realize how bad the play-calling was.
Holy what a grind back to back days
Always a good day when a deep dive drops, appreciate it Marcus!
Him misquoting dodgeball for anchorman has me really sad for some reason
Just clocked out and this is ready? Lsfg. Lifelong rams fan, but this Seattle team has an interesting path forward but some really fun pieces.
Finally someone who sees Geno as a qb that has everything you could want and understands that the oline and play calling was shit. I’m not saying he is top 5 but I don’t see how if he gets time and just decent play calling how he can’t be top 10.
PJ Walker, Ricky Person, Mike Morris, Coby Bryant 👀
I think there is a lot of potential with this team. I think MacDonald could improve the defense A LOT. Also the offense has a lot of weapons, their production will be dependent upon a healthy offensive line.
I like this. I'm glad you are back posting these videos. 🎉
Let's go!! Also as a Falcons fan, glad to see we're easily rated as the best team in the South. Feels great to finally have a (2) QB
1 only but yeah Falcons have no excuse not to win 11 games
TFG rankings (my rankings)
21. Seahawks (17)
22. Cardinals (26)
23. Buccaneers (22)
24. Raiders (24)
25. Chargers (23)
26. Saints (25)
27. Giants (28)
28. Broncos (31)
29. Titans (27)
30. Panthers (30)
31. Patriots (32)
32. Commanders (29)
One small thing I'd point out, and I don't blame you for missing this because he got injured fairly early on in the year, Jerrick Reed was ELECTRIC as a special teams guy. The coverage team sorely missed him.
Let's gooooo, great way to end my work day
Dj james vs. The lsu wr room is something to watch he stops alot of slant routes for a skinny corner.
Was hoping we'd be higher, but I also totally get the lower overall ranking. I'll add my thoughts later after finishing this video
after watching it, yeah, the Oline does really drag us down… here’s hoping for improvement, as well as the LB core, which is very middling as you pointed out.
Cardinals and Seahawks are neck and neck, nfc west is going to be a blast to watch per usual
as a hawks fan im both happy and mad that kyler is back cause its gonna make for some great games but also make us more likely to lose some too
Mike MacDonald is gonna have a FIELD DAY with Devon on his roster, add another safety(love the Simmons idea) and get a true #1 EDGE and this has long term best D in the league potential.
Wow, I would've sworn the vikings would be next. But glad to have another deep dive!
For Ryan Grubb you could put most of those 15+ years of college exp as under Kalen DeBoer.
As a Seahawks fan, I forgot Julian Love was a pro bowler. We don’t have insane expectations lol
I'm a little shocked that we haven't been on here yet, given how difficult almost every QB has their first year.
I’m a Bears fan but the Seahawks have my favorite OC HC combo in the league in guys I’m rooting for.
Are we just going to gloss over (and misspell) starting (minicamp) guard McClendon Curtis?
I feel like you are a bit high on Dre'mont jones and low on Jarran Reed. But besides that the ranking I think makes sense. However there is no way the seahawks are going to lose against some against the teams ranked higher than them.
JSN - You need to compare the first half of the season versus the second half. Different player.
What do you have Geno over Baker going into 2024/2025 season? Who would you rather have long-term? Geno or Baker?
Geno for sure
Can some1 explain to me how a WR room of DK, Lockett, JSN, etc. is only an average room? Seems low to me
Not a seahawks fan or anything but thats a damn good WR trio
Marcus, you've used the term "frankly" a whole 14 times in the first 30 mins of this video lol. Where'd you pick that up from!?
Abraham Lucas returning to rookie form or better would be huge for the OL this year.
As a ringer fantasy football fan I could not be happier
C’mon TFG the movie reference around 1:14:00 was from Dodgeball, not Anchorman.😪
Curious where you have our oline ranked with the acquisition of Connor Williams
What the heck... Crazy thing is that makes sense.
@ThatFranchiseGuy hahaha my man, that's just a copypasta but as you said, it just made too much sense hahaha
@@timonkeller8927you got him lol

What i expect from the Seahawks is can they as top 12 defense and top 15 offense which I think they can be their definitely a top 20 team and i got them making the playoffs fighting for the last plYoffs spot
Got Geno 18th at Qb
16:50 One of the core reasons why Rex Ryan failed as a Head Coach
Man, ain't that the truth.
Watching what Jim Schwartz was able to do with buffalo's defense, and then watching Rex Ryan drop Mario Williams into coverage once he took over will forever make me think I could run an NFL team one day. Such an ego.
Man Cardinals and Seahawks being next to each other does not feel right
We are always right next to each other, no matter how they are ranked they always play each other tough 😁
I was tweaking and didnt realize he had a hat on. I was like why his hair looknlike that🤣
I thought you'd have them a few spots ahead with the McDonald hire and everything, but man I didn't realize how bad the offensive line is yeesh
I have Sea rated 18th offense, and 15th defense
As a texans fan, I truly believe JSN can be a great WR if you give him a really good quarterback and you will get the best out of him just like in his one year college game and we have seen that in my opinion
Did you forget to include the number grade for the overall offense and defense?
Lettttts go seahawkkkkks (damn we lower than I thought)
to be fair we such a wildcard since it’s a entire new staff so it’s hard to say how we’ll do
Shenault as Kick returner is almost a given. Will make the team if healthy.
No question…his contract is guaranteed….
Wow i was expecting vikings at #21. Definitely a pleasant surprise SKOL
The Jets live to see the day into the top 20🤞🤞
I'd like to note that Abe Lucas had knee surgery right at the end of last season, so hopefully that fixed whatever was going on.
Seattle should be ranked between 12-18 in NFL. OL and OLB MLB are their biggest weakness. Jaxon Smith-Njigba should improve in 2nd year in league.
Imo next teams are the Vikings and bears
The echo was really bad in this video, i hope he tells us he's addressing it soon
My opinion on the 2024-25 Seahawks offseason and rankings just dropped
Another day, another video that’s not about my Vikings
1) Draft Carter! Trade or do whatever was needed to get that done! ✔️ they needed something and that #20 pick would have meant so much! BOTH of Phillys picks could have been ours! And we still keep JSN and Charbonet. Hall? Will see!
idk why so many hawks fans are suprised by this ranking, we have a good baseline but we also have a lot of major questions that could really impact how our season goes
This seems a little low….but I’m willing to hear you out
