That's a mistake 99.9% of the NFL would've made. It was also a mistake to stick with Pederson instead of Reich. But then again, how the hell do you fire a HC that just went to a SB and promote the OC?
It's easy to see it 2 years later but at the time it isn't as obvious.

    • @NELL_SCORPIO
      @NELL_SCORPIO 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

@@mbuff151it wasn't that Shane got the most out of him, it's just the offense was fresh when steichen took over. And you also can't ignore the record 70 sacks that played a huge part in that run to the Superbowl..including Reddick injuring purdy, cause you saw what they did and how hurts played when they got their revenge when purdy avoided getting sucked by reddick. If you go back and look at games then vs the ones right after, you'll notice that the plays are similar, the only difference is that the QB draw was more successful and now when they attempt it, teams are shutting it down more cause they knew that was jalens bread and butter the year(s) prior so they're defending that running QB ish much better. People to this day keep bringing up steichen and begging for him to coach this offense as if his offense was gonna work every year. Why do you think mcvay"s misdirection play offense looked unstoppable when the Rams won the Superbowl and then the year after teams were able to stop it and they looked completely different?? Jalen's biggest strength is his legs and that's what hid his true ability as a consistent pocket passer. So as long as teams are able to shut down his legs, he will always struggle unless he improves his passing from the pocket more consistently, reading the defense, scanning the field and going through his progressions instead of staring down AJ and and devonte and having better pocket awareness. Did you notice that play when Jalen ran to his left and he was limping right before he slid?? It's gonna get worse for him if he can't get rid of the ball quicker. Depending on AJ to out muscle defenders to get wide open on slants and throwing 50/50 deep balls to him isn't gonna keep working for too much longer.

The success never felt sustainable. We knew we wouldn't always have an All-Time offensive line to overwhelm DL's across the league. & The pass game was home run reliant. Once that got figured out and teams forced Hurts to sit in the pocket, the offense went stale. & That's become the common theme. It's not all on him, but he's not the QB who's going to consistently be able to go toe to toe with the elite. It's unfortunate because getting rid of him will almost make a rebuild inevitable. We are officially in QB purgatory for the foreseeable future because Howie jumped the gun to justify taking Jalen in the 2nd Round.
[Keep in mind, I may be overreacting because he still does have the opportunity to change that w/ his play on the field the remainder of the season. He could re-establish himself as a true gamechanger, or he'll continue to falter. It's in his power].

With Smith and Brown out, you’d think Campbell, Wilson, and Dotson would be next in line for target upticks, but he routinely prioritized Goedert and Barkley over any of them. True, those 3 are either rookies or very new players, but as a QB you NEED to build chemistry and trust with every player on the field.

An eagles fan had mentioned in Marcus' deep dive on Eagles, that Jalon had hypertended his leg in the Rams game. After that he ran less & less as season went on, so that opposing teams didn't have to account for Jalon's running, making it easy to defense the Eagles. I think Jalon is still not fully recovered from that leg injury.

Even people who produce channels like this seem to have difficulty sustaining any ability to really analyze in all circumstances. Hurts' only great season was '22.
Shouldn't he be leading a supposed bust like Justin Fields by more than 5 passing TDs _even if their circumstances were equal?_
TLDR but this th-cam.com/video/glpaya0xz-4/w-d-xo.html was Fields' receiving corps in '21 & '22. They hadn't acquired D.J. Moore yet. That _ALONE_ should make about 8-12 fewer TDs a full season. They both missed 2 games due to injury so let's make it 7-10. _speaking of_ 7-10 does anyone but me remember what happened those weeks of '22?
Those were the weeks that following fields calling out his own coaches they changed *ALL* their plays for 4 weeks & the Bears _averaged_ 31 points a game.
Now this part is funny because it shows how all of you lie to yourselves. *Everyone reported on* how the Bears were suddenly scoring more points. *Everyone reported on* how the Bears set a record for amount of points scored in 3 consecutive losses.
& *everyone blamed **_Fields_* for those losses. I kid you not, the #1 meme about that streak was that "this just proves that *_Fields_* can't win games."
He didn't hold onto the ball too long, didn't take too many sacks or miss open receivers during those 4 games. All of those were memes that started coming into play _just before_ Fields called them out & the Bears *proved* were the direct results of play-calling by 1) _not_ calling those plays for 4 weeks (or 'until this all blows over now that Fields exposed what we are doing') then 2) *_returning to_* calling those plays showing they were the play-calls, not Fields.
& you the fans _kept blaming_ Fields. so did Marcus. Solid proof play-calling was The Factor in those plays as well as video evidence galore.
So back to this subject, Fields was further hampered outside of 4 games by his coaches Deliberately Choosing to *Return To* using plays they _knew_ produced less offense. Produced 13.7 fewer points per game. That's 2 TDs a game less.
Let's say only 30-40% of those are passing ones. They both missed 2 games. So 15 games, 2 TDs each, minus the 4 in which he Was Allowed to score those 2 TDs a game more, 11 games X2 TDs, 22. That's minimum 7 TDs more with _those_ receivers (link above) who fell down & swatted away his passes while Hurts had an élite WR duo.
Even being conservative, Fields would have had 2 more TDs just if his own coaches weren't deciding to use plays they knew produced more offense. That is _just_ the play-calling. I didn't even mention the #1 o-line in the NFL.
But just his receivers doing everything in their power to avoid attempting catches is another few. So how _is_ Hurts better than Fields?
      He's on a better team?

We have a backup nfl running back playing qb.
He can’t read the defense so he bail and rolls right. He is inaccurate and can’t see/ doesn’t understand the field so he throws out of bounds.
Here’s the deal- the coaching hasn’t been ideal, however, Peyton Manning didnt even have an offense coordinator for some years of his career. We cannot blame the coaches. This is a supposed NFL caliber player, not to mention MVP runner up. He should be making his guys better and his play, despite the coaching, should be elevating his team.
We all know what Andy Reid’s last few years here were like… it was painful and the calls were consistently bad, however, nobody really blames big red. They blame Kolb, they blame Detmer, they blamed Foles, McNabb, etc.
But now, so many fans refuse to blame hurts. My take, he stinks. Bottom 8 qb in the league, and getting worse weekly. He plays an awful brand of football, and it’s horrible to be forced to watch week in and week out for years.

Hurts has had a new OC every year except for the 2 he had with Shane Steichen, who went to the Colts as the HC!!! This season Hurts is learning an entirely new system, again, and he has to pick up blitz's now as well!!! He's going to have INTs but the fumbles have to stop and he has to learn to step up in the pocket and find his receivers when they're open... Hurts stinks. In 2022 they ran RPO. However, you can't just do RPOs for life in the NFL. Teams watch film and adjust to that. I've been saying this gor years, even the SB appearance year. That Hurts is just a one-read QB who cant read defenses, or even see over the Oline. He just guesses. Holds onto the ball way too long. Has 0 awareness to whats going on. Thinks hes Vick when he scrambles when hes not. Also, when he throws he thinks he can make throws that his arm isnt strong enough to make, no zip for tight windows. He's below average. Needs an allstar team to do anything. Puts the team in holes with his bad play and then sometimes they get themselves out of those holes and then fans day, "He put the team on his back and won! Mvp!." When really it was his fault they were even in that situation to begin with. He has a good deep ball, but thats about it. Eagles fans blame coaching, eventually you have to stop blaming every coordinator in the world and realize that Hurts just isn't that dude. He could get better, but he's also been in the NFL for 5 years and no progress so we'll see

Hurts doesn't hit receivers off their breaks into the route unless he's schemed to do it. Other than that he holds on too the ball and hopes AJ or Smith will come open. If they are not open he either runs out of the pocket(sometimes a clean pocket) or just throws it up to a covered AJ or Smith and prays they come down with it
Which leads to the facts that
1)Hurts has poor vision(Tunnel vision on Brown and Smith)
    2) inability and no desire to read a defense and find the correct guy to throw to on any given play.
    3) Holding on to Ball too long because he can't read a defense, and missing guys like Dotson and Goedert when they get open off their initial break(because he's only looking at Brown and Smith)
Until Hurts learns to read a defense, and get the ball, He'll never win a Super Bowl.

Can someone PLEASE do a video of his stats with and then without the tush push that year, how many times did that win them a game, and how average he is without it.

idk if you mention this cause I'm only 13 minutes into the video, but I really think Jalen favors his favorite targets to a fault (being AJ Brown, Smitty, and Goedert - possibly now Saquon). If he doesn't see those open when he checks, I think he panics a little or really, really tries to force it. I don't know why, and as an Eagles fan, watching these past games have been so frustrating. Yea, I think we had a play calling issue with Brian Johnson/Sirianni, but I think Hurts might ALSO be a problem - like a Wentz/Pederson situation.

They rely on analytics like they did with wentz hence the weight gain and drop the following season and them wanting wentz to stay in the pocket like hurts is now running on analytics never works

Hurts is a 51 mil. Disappointment. Anyone watching all22 has realized it. Dudes avg at best with moments of great plays with the help of superior talent around him. He's never even been the best player in the huddle but now gets paid like it cause Roseman jumped the gun thinking he was the Russell Wilson he wanted to have years ago.

No awareness in the pocket and relatively short which is not a good combo for finding throwing lanes. It infact compounds the issue. Sorry to say im an eagles fan.
