That was awesome! Congrats. I moved to Northern Michigan 15 years ago from Pittsburgh. Fished many tournaments back in the day, especially Lake Erie. Giant smallmouths there as well. You can only imagine what it was like for me to end up in a smallmouth paradise as we have "up" this way. Great videos and hope to see ya on the water again!
@@reelobsession I've only ever got one over 6 in Erie. She was 6.3. They're rare for sure as I've only caught 3 in my life along with the one 7 pounder. Of course you know where that one was. I got one 6.8 out of Saginaw Bay. You should fish that if you haven't already. May fishing in Erie was fantastic with many 3 to 5 pounders.
I live 40 min from a launch on Erie near the D River. When I got my boat in 2019 I spent most of my time on Lk St Clair, until I tried the NW Erie area. Now it's my go to. I would pull 30-50 on LSC but didn't have the weight Erie affords. I would rather catch 20 on Erie with a couple giants than fish LSC. Especially in the fall. My bigs are 6-5 & 6-3 there. Best trip ever- 6-3 5-5 5-1 4-12 4-8 Yes I have that memorized 😂
Some Beautiful small mouth Bass .
