I have played superstrats for 30 years and love them, but I just recently got me a 2019 satin ice blue metallic elite Strat with ebony fretboard and just like you say in this video, it has opened up a whole new world of tones that I absolutely love. It’s a beautiful guitar and very well made as it should be for the price. Your 1st video on your was one of the several I watched before deciding I wanted to get one for myself. Sometimes a shredder likes to just loosen up and let go, and this beast of a Strat is just the tool for that.
4:56...I love single coil over buckers. Absolutely. Because of their sound my response to the fretboard is different than a guitar with buckers. Buckers have a sound...I don't know what words to use to describe it, but the tone seems to become, mmm... homogeneous, maybe. Someone on another channel said the single coil gives the strings individually or something like that. I guess that's what I'm trying to say. Thanks for the video. I love single coil strats. 7:17 nice runs.
The top end of Ibanez guitars are probably equivalent, but I’d say the vast majority are inferior to an elite Strat in terms of build quality and versatility. I’m astonished that you haven’t used the S1 switch. For me that was really the major selling point of the guitar and allows it to create virtually any tone you’d ever need, apart from the horrible sound of an active pickup. That alone makes the guitar probably the most versatile available on the market. For example, if the S1 switch is engaged (pressed down) with the 5 way in position 2 you will get the bridge and middle pickup in series. Effectively you are creating a powerful humbucker with a lot more mids and thickness. If you check this setting back to back with something like a JB you’ll find it’s not too far off. In position 3 you’ll get the neck and middle in series creating a similar situation. Obviously there are lots of other permutations. When you combine S1 with the already massive tonal palette that’s available with the standard 5 way you’ve got an incredible guitar that should never be too far away from your side. The average “Super Strat” is tonally limited and overpriced by comparison (I’ve owned plenty btw).
@Gengar Have you ever stood next to a loud valve amp or a badly performing power supply with your marvellous “single coils”? I’m guessing not. I’ve owned and played countless Strats over the years and the noiseless pickups are amongst the best I’ve heard. Are they a perfect facsimile of a traditional single coil pickup, no. They’re a bit fatter and have a higher output, but they do retain a lot of the famous Strat characteristics. S1 is a great idea and I can’t see why anyone would remove it. Why would you want to reduce the tonal options available?
Sounds awesome and you're right about the single coil pickups. I watched your video when you first bought it a year ago and convinced me to buy one. Unfortunately, the salesman at guitar center talked me into the HSS Elite. I'm a basic blues, Stevie Ray Vaughan guy and now have to trade it or sell to get the SSS. Thank you for the video you are a great guitarist.🎸
I've always loved the finish on the elite strat. I also prefer where they put the truss rod adjustment. Every time I've seen that exact finish on an elite hanging up on the wall of a guitar store I would just couldn't pass it 😍 It sounds really nice. You should definitely play it more.
I love mine. Soft overdrive, some delay and reverb, now use the trem and you get a nice liquid lead only strats can provide. Imo, perfect for modern jazz/fusion/prog leads.
Now that is the review I been looking for. You answered all the questions I had about that particular guitar. I am about to buy one and your review was also right when you said they were expensive. But you get what you pay for and I'm about to pay ! Thanks your video solidified my decision.
Nice guitar, I'd definitely have that, I'm a strat man. Mine isn't as posh, just a mexican strat with HSS configuration but it covers almost every style I want to play. I don't use it for metal but anything else goes.
Another fine video, thank you Anthony. Entertaining as always. I think you've just helped me make up my mind, I've been eyeing off the same guitar. Fantastic looking guitar and sounds awesome.
@@ACMusic - hey, well the day came. Got the same one as you and I love it. It's really comfortable to play and the colour is awesome. I was a bit nervous with a maple neck as my only previous experience was with a cheap one, but this one is fantastic. I got the chance to play the exact model in store a couple of months ago which really helped me with my final decision. Now I just need to get better at playing 😎
Technically that's an American elite, the fender elite strat was manufactured between 1983 and 1984 and was completely different in the way it was constructed, with active electronics, a hum canceling dummy coil, to rout for tremolo.

Hello, Congratulations on the tests. I would have to choose between a new STATOCASTER VINTERA 50 MAPLE NECK and a STATOCASTER AMERICAN ELITE MAPLE NECK ex demo (with guarantees) at the same price. Music genre: CLAPTON - GILMOUR - KNOFLER. I'll proceed to the tests anyway. Which would you choose? Thanks. I always follow you
I'm sure I missed it in your video but what kind of noiseless pickups do you use? I'm looking to get rid of the stock Tex Mex p/u currently on my Strat.
i have this same guitar and its amazing its really versatile and the neck on it is just beautiful N4 pickups sounds good to my ears you can shred or play great fender clean tones on it Im just loving this guitar if you put a hot rail on the bridge it will be your ultimate guitar
Just use the S1 switch and line up the bridge and middle pickups in series. That’ll give you all the mids and extra punch that you’d ever want. There’s no need for hot rails, that will just spoil the look of your guitar. It will also sound weaker than the S1 option.
Got one today. 40% off😊 Love it besides the whammy bar, which is much better dimensioned on my Fender Lone star. The Whammy bar is to close to the strings and to short.
Hello. I purchased a few days ago an Elite with rosewood (i think that it is the last one in my zone I understand that they will be the last with this wood)..all in the guitar is excellent but i notice two little things: in the elite serie and professional there is a gap between the bridge and the pickguard (it is the tremolo cavity) that can be seen...is yours too? and the other think is how did you fixed the tremolo arm problem mentioned in your first video. I am in the period of returning back or keep it i a want a one more reason to keep another guitar just for vice 😁.Thaks a lot and sorry for my English
Anthony Couch i just dont have time ,work late hours plus two kids ,im a acoustic person as ive got taylor 314ce and always want to fender strat and purchase in november same colour as yours with katana 100 ,i just cant find a spare time to play ,lol
I understand Arda. I worked hard and I paid for mine with my hard earned money, so I understand why you bought it. The month after I bought it, the Ultra series came out. So far everyone likes the Elite more than the Ultra, so we might have made the right move.

This comment is too true!! I definitely recommend this guitar to any shredders out there. Glad you found my video useful! 😁😁
I also have an elite Strat, Cherry burst with an ash body but it's heavy is yours heavy?
I love my elite strat! My favorite guitar! Thanks for follow up reviews Antony!
Thanks dima 🤘
That strat is honestly so GORGEOUS

Thanks Doug 👍 I know exactly what you mean! The pickups on this guitar are so nice! They completely changed the way I play!
It also comes with an instruction of what other pick ups your using in parallel with normal positions, pushes the amp better at positions 4 and 5,
I play my Elite less after I've got the AmPro Strat. My Elite (noiseless) mainly for playing on stage.

Thanks for watching Donald. 😁 It's one of my lighter guitars actually.
How do I get a humbucker pickup sound or the bridge + neck P.U to sound together on an elite strat
Beautiful guitar, great player too. Would be nice to see a Visio how to setup the back tracks so I could practice my guitar, thanks.
You're like Yngwie without the narcissism...lol Excellent playing and tone.

I don’t think the S1 does anything on the bridge selection. There should be a selection that has all pickups on at once.
It gives you all three pickups in series

I hate the truss rod wheel where the board parts like a Charvel. Really ugly design. Cool guitars only for that.
Oh but it's so useful. you can adjust the relief on the neck with the strings in place it's awesome for on the Fly adjustments.
