      Yes I totally agree. Saw Joe twice in the very early 90's. He was so casual and not pretentious or arrogant in the least. Never met him but I'll go out on a the limb of speculation and say he's simply a great person all around. Stu Hamm has the same vibe imo. Sorry for the long post.

Thats the best thing is that they are 35 years old. Same musician, but with little changes. That keeps it interesting to me. No one stays the same forever. Not even one year to the next. But its amazing to keep that same original song structure and rhythm.

    He makes it look sooooo easy. But i heard he spends hours every day just practicing scales and modes. Practice makes perfect. We are not worthy oh great and talented Master.

    Surfing with an Alien was a great album, loved it! Joe is one of the greats and a unique sound all his own, especially when it comes to capturing melody within his songs and when soloing.❤

    The two cops were there to arrest Joe due to noise complaint but they decided to let him finish playing first 😂

    • @vonzemovideo
      @vonzemovideo ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Then after hearing him play and realizing he's a freaking GOD they proceeded directly to the idiots house that made the complaint, tased him a few times and then told him that God giveth and God can taketh away if he makes another complaint.

    I don't know why, but this song just has the essence of Dimebag in it to me.....the riff, the harmonics, pinched and natural ones that get pulled out of the octave stratosphere.... I just hear like lil Dime nuances in it all over the place......

    • @lashlarue7924
      @lashlarue7924 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a huge Dime fan too, but Satch and Dime sound unique to my ears.

    • @jimmccormick3226
      @jimmccormick3226 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lashlarue7924 Oh, don't get me wrong, they are both unique to my ears as well, what I mean is that i hear a lot of Dimes style or techniques in this particular vid of Satch playing this song. Just sounds like a little Dime style thrown in there. Which would be cool if that were true

    Much more than that... So much more... Look, he is one of the EXTREMELY FEW IN HISTORY, who can pull entire albums of instrumental songs and it's never boring, all main melodies, solos and riffs being perfectly memorable and soulful, more than half his songs are top hits, AND as he grows old he improves his tone and his play becomes more rich and templed, the current way he plays old songs is better than the originals... How many rock/blues musicians can claim that?
