I can't imagine what it feels like knowing your child is dying and your time on this earth is limited. I hope your heart is healing, momma! I completely understand how your mind shuts down from the trauma and you forget things. I lost my mom to cancer last year. I was there for everything, I saw her withering away day by day. The diagnosis was so sudden, that I didn't have the time to realize that I was losing her. I was scared to touch her, I was scared to look at her, at the same time I knew I had to fulfill my duty.
She passed the night before she was due to go to hospice. Something in me knew that her time is up even though the emergency came at least 3 times that day to give her painkillers. I prayed to God that night to release her from this pain and torture. I told Him to comfort her no matter what this would mean for my life from now on, I'm a brave girl, I'll count on Him. And He did relieve mom from her pain. I just wish I didn't have to become an adult in such a way.
