    Bill is right in naming those who have automatic health insurance: the poor, disabled, military and the old, however he excludes those who need emergency services even though they do not have health insurance. if you are in a life threatening accident, but do not have health insurance, you will still be treated, even if the cost will be 1/2 million dollars. So since most of us are covered anyway, why don't we get everyone covered and have them pay into the system through premiums.

    In Australia we use Liters not gallons so um i'm like $1.20 is a decent price these days we usually (i use usually loosely) don't spend more then $80 per tank but depends on how big your tank is. Is that bad?

    Ya, public transit is one thing that both America and Canada simply don't have. It literally is for people who can't afford a car so they have no choice but to go somewhere near where they actually want to go, eventually.

  • @mickeypopa
    @mickeypopa 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Finally telling those stuck up "my gas is expensive!" Americans how good they actually have it. They should be forced to move to Europe and see what it really looks like when gas is expensive. Thank you Bill.

  • @LocoGroove
    @LocoGroove 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Icerama108 I just wanna clear up something here because I've lived in Helsinki, outside of London and I spent my exchange year in Marseille: Public transportation is pretty shitty in UK and the trolleys don't move too often in France. Finland, Germany and Sweden have pretty good public transportation, but that's about it. Of course it's better than in the US but it's not perfect here. BTW, we pay a lot of taxes so that we can have free healthcare and education....so it's no paradise here :)

    we do have cheaper gas, yet we have to commute farther and are more spread out than any other country. trust me, if we had a transit system, i would be using it. france, germany and the UK citizens have an alternative if they cant afford gasoline, its called taking the train or bus. in america when gas goes up, you grin and bear it or go without.

  • @Heathenandproud

    @streetcrazykenny You make some good points. I do think a Paul would bring home many of the troops from around the world immediately, and do think some things should be left up to the states, like pot legalization. Here in CA, medical pot is legal, but the feds can shut down a pot shop at any time, but I do not think abortion should be left up to the states. Some women would have to seek back alley abortions or find a way to states where it is legal. This would set women's rights back 40 years.

    At 3.50 not true. There are many people who are disabled in various percentages, sick, who don't qualify for Social Security Disabilities, nor Medicaid (not poor enough) yet don't make enough money to purchase Health Insurance that just go without Health Care and are miserable every day going to work and get no relief for their Medical Conditions/Illnesses,

  • @mickeypopa
    @mickeypopa 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @crowdaddy13
    I understand completely. I just think way to many Americans (not all, of course) put all the blame on the price of gas, while completely disregarding the bigger picture. That's all.

    I know that in Chile...Gas is much much more expensive. First of all its more expensive money wise...after converting pesos to dollars or dollars to pesos...and second of all...income to gas price...its still more expensive.
    And I also know that gas is way way more cheap in Venezuela...

    It would be fine to discriminate the provision of healthcare to overweight people who don't eat well and exercise. Mal-health beyond an individual's control like preexisting conditions, accidents, cancer, etc., should be covered, yes. But bypass surgeries and diabetes coverage b/c you spend all your free time sitting in front of a screen and eating crappy food? YOUR responsibility.

    I love Bill Maher, okay, DON'T get me wrong. But, what in the world is his deal? Did he bump himself in the head? Was he bought off? Is he being blackmailed or threatened to be blacklisted? Or is he a flip-flopper? He LOVED Ron Paul two years ago - a REAL leader and representative of the people. Even going as far as saying he's his new hero.
    Hunsman? Really? C'mon, Bill, grow some balls - you've got the brain. RON PAUL 2012!

    The question "do you believe in evolution" is absurd....I can't ask someone do you believe in blood circulation....you ask "do you agree or reject the fact of evolution"...you don't believe facts, beliefs are for myths.....the idea that creationism is a valid "alternative" to a truth is extremely dangerous, not just to individual minds, but to our national security.

    Firstly, those trains and buses didn't fall out of the sky into Europe. They had to be made and they have to be maintained.
    Secondly, If America wouldn't waste so much money on it's military, it would be able to do the same as Europe with public transportation and healthcare.
    Finally, Americans are not the only people suffering high food, insurance and everything else prices.
    So why are Americans so special?
    Their only problem is their unwillingness to accept facts.

  • @whyamimrpink78
    @whyamimrpink78 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @imthetube44 Yep, higher taxes for education so the government can control what you think instead of you thinking independently because a country of independent thinkers are hard to control. Or health care so they can control what you eat, work, do all in the name of health care while politicians get better health care off of our tax dollars. Don't mind not being able to think for yourself or being controlled by the government, support higher taxes.

  • @streetcrazykenny
    @streetcrazykenny 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @COLUMBINE1818 Agree. The way I see it, the ONLY way to have successful healthcare (national-level or state-level), is to strengthen the regulations. Too many deadbeats and illegals (of any ethnicity) get pass the current system, while many single-parent families and other truly-needy people are left in the cold. Why? Because of the welfare and nanny state. We need STRONG healthcare, not open - so only the truly needy get temporary help. So I feel for you, man.

  • @Heathenandproud
    @Heathenandproud 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @streetcrazykenny I used to like Ron Paul too until I read up on all of his positions. I like his foreign policy and views on drug legalization, but I could never vote for someone who did not believe in evolution or who wanted to make abortion illegal and prosecute doctors who perform abortions. Does Paul really believe in those things or does he just have to pander to the Republicans in his district to keep getting re-elected every 2 years? I don't know.

    Maher didn't get a good education from NJ. If he did he will realize the history of our country, what the constitution is, and why health care shouldn't be apart of it. Also, he will see the benefits of teaching creationism along with other philosopical and religionish ideas in school in philosophy, history, and culture classes.

  • @countchoc90
    @countchoc90 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    you don't have to amend the constitution, you can just make laws... Bill can be so stupid sometimes. You can't make laws that are unconstitutional, which is why it was an issue. But, he doesn't fail to show his true liberal, socialist colors by saying that we should just pass a law, and make what we want legal

    @Heathenandproud Most of our past Presidents don't believe in evolution - Bush comes to mind. Very few of our Presidents don't believe in creationism (Jefferson, Adams, Madison, Monroe, and Lincoln). Besides, Ron Paul is the only candidate who has a strong and capable policy for foreign policy and the economy - which are more important reasons to vote for a candidate for President. Read the Constitution, our President isn't a legislator.

    @mickeypopa well the thing is, if i went to Europe and couldnt afford the gas...i would just get on the fucking train or bus to get to work. see, here in texas or many other states, you have no choice but to commute sometimes upward of 100 miles and have no other alternative. two, after you pay high prices for food, healthcare, insurance and everything else, a typical american will find it hard to fill up their tanks, even at $3.00 a gallon. i would much rather have my only worry gas in europe

    @FernandoLuis191 Actually everyone ridicules other for their beliefs, much like you did in comment.
    If you think religious people does not ridicule others, then you have not read and comprehend the Bible or the holy text of that specific religion.
    The whole idea of religion is to separate people into two categories. The "good" and the "bad" so the rebellious is put down and the obedient are kept docile.
    "Ridicule is the only weapon against unintelligible propositions."
    -Thomas Jefferson.

    @soulkiss1001 If the founding fathers really wanted a theocracy (which is really what Christian extremists want) like Christians claim, then why didn't they adopt a Christian-leaning government like their oppressors? Common sense tells you that they wanted that definitive separation between BOTH church and state - you can believe what you wanted to believe without persecution. Treaty with Tripoli in 1796 explains the truth from the lies.

You should be concerned that backward views like that will hurt our credibility in the world, & would hurt U.S businesses. Paul needs to come clean on this issue, since I think he does believe in evoltion. Why is he bold enough to say prostitution should be legalized but not courageous enough to back evolution?
