Bill is right in naming those who have automatic health insurance: the poor, disabled, military and the old, however he excludes those who need emergency services even though they do not have health insurance. if you are in a life threatening accident, but do not have health insurance, you will still be treated, even if the cost will be 1/2 million dollars. So since most of us are covered anyway, why don't we get everyone covered and have them pay into the system through premiums.
In Australia we use Liters not gallons so um i'm like $1.20 is a decent price these days we usually (i use usually loosely) don't spend more then $80 per tank but depends on how big your tank is. Is that bad?

Finland, Germany and Sweden have pretty good public transportation, but that's about it. Of course it's better than in the US but it's not perfect here. BTW, we pay a lot of taxes so that we can have free healthcare and education....so it's no paradise here :)
