"Luffy Help me" is the reason one piece fans usually say "oh you gotta get through the first 40 episodes or so". That is the moment it usually all clicks for people and they get hooked

Yeah, 40 episodes sounds like a huge ask but oh my god it is so worth it. The pay off is beyond incredible and the manga/anime just gets better and better the longer you watch. So many amazing character moments
its good from episode one, almost every new reactor i have seen has been loving the shit out of the story from episode 1, people get put off by the old artstyle in anime, but in manga the first chapter with shanks is good enough to hook people already.
Going from 'haha goofy pirate story' to 'deep social commentary and emotional human stories' is One Piece's signature move. Buckle up, because it gets more and more intense with each arc.
I like the subtle detail of zoro and sanji standing right and left of luffy respectively showing how zoro is the right hand and sanji is the left of there captain
That walk was an iconic scene after the "help me " scene from nami as we see the boys be boys and take on the roles of brother's protecting their sister from abuse...It was meant to represent them as a family it's so iconic the author just knows how to visually n emotionally tell a story without words and boy u better be prepared for all the forshadowing this show has you'd think the author came from the future; from how he connects every small details into bigger pictures and greater stakes...really bringing the world to life by showing u that every action as small as it may be is what makes the world go around in this show! @@OfficialMediaKnights
agree there is something visceral about this particular scene that i cannot explain into words. zorro in the left, sanji in the right middle standing and smoking, and usopp contemplating beside sanji, the setting is during the night giving more menacing ambience. it just like a band of brother ready to give an all out war. just masterpiece@@OfficialMediaKnights
Emily Rudd really did a great job as Nami! Fun fact: In the original material, the villagers were aware of Nami's deal w/Arlong and sacrifice the whole time, but left her in the dark so she could give up on her plan without being burdened by their expectations. And it wasn't losing the $10mil that led to her mental breakdown - she was actually considering to just start over again - but scar guy telling her she has already done too much for them & the villagers marching to Arlong Park knowing that would be their sure death
Emily Rudd was fantastic in this show, but this episode she got to really shine!! Her performance really was incredible! The heartbreak Nami must have felt in that moment, the despair and fear of what had happened and what was yet to come... so overwhelming and heartbreaking!
Im a fan for over 20+ years and ive rewatched the entire anime about 7-8 times already and i still cannot stop myself from crying at that scene in the anime. This and another scene...i do not have to give any context but anyone who watches the anime knows exactly what i mean.
In this version, it showed that Nami wasn't as selfish with her means of taking all that money for the village. It probably carries a lot more weight & meaning for her here
Also Nojiko having tattoo made more sense in the manga. After the fishmen forced her to take their tattoo Nojiko took even bigger one to show support to her sister. Here it's kinda weird that they kept the character design but took out the reasons for them.
Originallly, the stuff about slavery & prejudice isn't directly mentioned here but rather recontextualized much later down the line, however, I'm glad they took the liberty to do so here in the LA tho...made Arlong imo a more compelling villlain, while also adding to the worldbuilding
It's been a while since I read arlong park, but i thought there were direct statements on the history of fishmen? I can't remember properly, so maybe I've made it up
@@leespn4396 No there actually weren't any at all (besides the design of Arlong Park and the tattoo of the Arlong Pirates being great foreshadowing). The first time we find out about the origin of Arlong's idealism is in Episode 540 (Chapter 621), which would most likely be the 7th season of the LA, if we even ever get that far to begin with lmao
We were really surprised to see how much social commentary there was. Glad they were able to add it and still keep the tone fun and adventurous. That is not an easy thing to do!
I've watched plenty of reactions (from those who haven't seen nor heard of One Piece before), and I have to say that the way you digest these episodes from the cinematography to the picture to the script, down to the flow, storyboard, and pacing, you do it on a different level. I love how much you note and appreciate the amount of work and detail put into this show. You've even caught more than I did (and I read and watched One Piece). Watching you break the elements down gives me a whole new level of appreciation and understanding regarding the direction (including changes) they've taken for the show. Also, I cry when you guys cry too so could you please not?
Maaaan this comment brightened the hell out of our day! Reading this truly put a big smile on our faces, thank you so so much!! We're so glad you're enjoying our commentary and reactions! Also lol we reaaally tried not to cry, but we failed miserably. Sorry about that 😂😂😂
They are the best i've seen so far when in comes to this kind of content, movies or series reaction. Found them when they reacted to Lord of the rings and then i found this in their list, our beloved One Piece, awesome. I hope they find time to react to the anime, atleast the episodes that covered season 1 in live action. I mean there are many available right now with other reactors but i can't stand them✌. They don't understand😅
Very important difference in the source material: In the source material, Nami and her mom (Bellemere) have the fight, Nami runs off, and they DON'T get the big reconciliation scene afterwards. Next time Nami sees her mom is when Arlong is shaking her down for money. So the fact that Bellemere doesn't just lie about having two kids makes a bit more sense in the manga/anime.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Yeah, that's my thinking too. But man, can you just imagine yelling at your mom, telling her you hate her, and then she gets killed before you have a chance to make up and reconcile? Like, bruh, Nami got some heavy shit on her.
This was my very first introduction to One Piece watching the live action I am truly fan and in awe of the cast and the storytelling this show portrayed. Just finished the series and I can't wait for season 2 but to have fun and see the characters and where it takes them 😊
Yesss!! Could not agree with you more! This was our introduction to One Piece as well, and we are loving the world, the characters, acting... We are already impatient for Season 2!!
Inaki Godoy's delivery of Luffy's response to Nami's 'Help me.' is just as amazing to me. It hits near as hard as the emotional explosion that Nami's 'Help me' is. Just like in the anime, he puts his hat on her head, which was already a powerful and symbolic moment where he makes clear that he still trusts her. Enough that he's willing to leave his most treasured possession in her keeping. 'Of course I will-' Cold anger. Serious. An unspoken continuation of '-because this is all wrong, and Arlong needs to be stopped. I would help you right now even if you were a total stranger. Because that's who I am.' 'Of course I will-' Reassuring, gentle. Unspoken continuation of '-because I know now why you did what you did, I understand, and I forgive you completely. There isn't even anything to forgive... I would have done the same. I just wish you'd told us all this earlier because we would have just let you bring Arlong the map and then got it back when we were done kicking his ass.' 'OF COURSE I WILL-' Loudly, exuberantly, enthusastically. Not caring who hears. Unspoken continuation of '-BECAUSE YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND NOBODY SCREWS WITH MY FRIENDS!!! HE MADE YOU CRY, AND THAT IS GONNA COST HIM BIG TIME.' SO MUCH was done with and conveyed with only _the exact same line delivered three different ways._ Inaki Godoy is a hell of an actor.
To give you info, the anime version of the last scene is the scene in the Anime that got a lot of One Piece fans now into watching One Piece and commit watching the series. The anime japanese voice actor for nami did it so good. I'm glad you guys are enjoying these. I hope you guys try the anime, It's really worth it.
That's incredible!! We can only imagine how pivotal that moment must have been - gotta check it out for ourselves! It was so powerful in the LA, it broke us and warmed our hearts all at the same time!
She's the navigator, financial manager, mom/big sister of the group, cartographer, sailing captain (since she has the most experience in sailing) and the negotiator. I remember Robin feeling bad for Nami being in the group because she has so much to do😭. Nami's tragic past is the root of her being greedy for money, plus money is essential for them especially that they have so much things to buy such as foods, boozes, clothes, ship equipments, and etc. ESPECIALLY FOODS since their captain is ALWAYS hungry😭
Awwwww man, I can't help but cry again especially seeing you guys crying, I love watching this again with you both...you can see the emotions build on your faces, so genuine.
Trust me when I say you're gonna be sobbing hard when you watch the anime. Yes its cartoony and wacky and goofy, but this is what makes One Piece very good. The emotional moments will hit you hard.
I don't normally comment on videos but i have to say, you guys are amazing reactors. Your discussions, breakdown, the empathy you have for the characters and the respect for the writing + direction of this live action have all been a treat to watch from the very first episode. So from a long time One Piece fan, thank you. And lawd when you guys cry i start BAWLING. Was watching this at work for lunch time and I had to take a break before someone came over to check on me! Can't wait to see your reaction to the last ep!
Wow! Thank you for the massive compliment. It warms our hearts that you took the time to write something nice and thoughtful. It's an honor being able to entertain you on your work break. Can't wait to share the last ep with all of you!
Like literally this show made me cry at 3 seperate occasions like WTF I haven't even seen the anime its not like I am invested or anything, its the first frickin season 😂
Never watched anime and didn’t expect much from this show other than it looked fun, there were a few scenes that brought me to tears but that Nami scene broke me. The actress killed it!
YYAAAAAAY EPISODE 7. SOOO EXCIITED FOR YOU BOTH TO WATCH THE LAST EPISODE. ALSO, THEY ALREADY CONFIRMED THAT THERE'S GONNA BE A SEASON 2 :D GREAT REACTION AS ALWAYS
every major character in One Piece has an incredible back story... the legend, Eiichiro Oda masterfully crafted the characters.. and the production team for the live action did excellence job..not to mention the casts, they just nailed it❤
This is the episode this is the episode I was waiting for this is going to be emotional and I know these guys are going to tear up this scene this scene made me tear up a little
I love how they did the Arlong Park arc in the live action! In the manga and anime, it's more convoluted with a lot of running back and forth all over the island. But they did have a few additional or slightly different moments. In the manga and anime, when Nojiko tells the crew about Nami's childhood, Luffy declines to hear the story and opts to go on a walk instead. He is very intuitive about people and does not care about the particulars - he trusts Nami and that's that for him. That also means he goes into the final battle with absolutely no context about what's going on except that Arlong made his navigator cry. It's really sweet when you think about it! He needs no more reason than that to fight for his friends :)
Emily Redd was so amazing as Nami. She was perfect to help me. Scene makes me cry every single mediums now. There's also a video of the cast reacting to the scene. And seeing Emily Rudd tear up at the performance and telling unyaki that he made it easy to cry with look cool.😂😂😂❤❤❤
This scene says so much about Luffy’s character. Yeah, he’s goofy, naive, good hearted, and has all sorts of weird quirks and personality traits, but when Monkey D. Luffy gets serious about a matter he is genuinely frightening. As the saying goes, beware the wrath of a righteous man, and he embodies that very well. I remember watching the anime for the first time, and there are so many moments where he just flips a switch and suddenly becomes this intense beast that sends shivers down my spine. All I can think of is thank god he’s a good person at heart. Imagine somebody with his power, drive, self confidence and charisma dedicated to purely selfish purposes. That’s a recipe for a true monster, and when we get those glimpses into his soul it shakes me to the core. Lol. I’m probably reading too much into it, but he comes across as a man who would do anything to accomplish what he considers to be the right thing and we can only be grateful that what he considers “right” doesn’t result in the world burning down around us.
FYI, nami's real backstory is really unknown since she was found as a child in the Oykot Kingdom (Tokyo spelled backwards). Look at some of Oda's cover drawings as he does alot of foreshadowing on the covers and you will notice Nami seems to wear something quite alot so there is alot of fan speculation on who she really may be. Also, it seems alot of the crew have or will get second backsotries before the manga ends.
I'm so glad they managed to translate the 'Nami, help me' scene in the live-action version. It was the moment I went from liking One Piece to falling in love with it and Emily Rudd was perfect (also music is so good in this show).I also like how they emphasized the 'hat transfer' without resorting to flashbacks (like in the anime), mirroring the promise he made to Shanks: "I'll deal with Arlong, and once you're free, you'll return my hat to me." Side note on Nami trusting arlong: within his crew, they're bound by a rule not to lie about money. This is briefly mentioned during the poker game, but it's more prominently highlighted in the manga.
Moments like these are why One Piece has been running for nearly 25 years. 1091+ manga chapter and 1076 anime episodes so far... This show gives you happiness, sadness, rage, family, adventure, action, drama, fear, pretty much everything that you need in a great show. It's always a struggle to convince non fans of the show to watch first few episodes of the anime because the old animation style and goofiness can put some people off, but most people really fall in love with this show when they see the Nami backstory. I'm glad that Netflix didn't ruin this show like they did with many other anime, and managed to give new fans these moments that us, old fans have experienced through the anime before.
One thing I love about Luffy is that he will not interfere until someone asks for help. He doesn't like interfering until he knows the truth. When he knows the truth, he'll die for that person.
“Is a show that keeps on giving” best way to describe, One Piece, whatever the media it is manga/anime/show welcome to the crew new nakamas!!!!!! Love the reactions! From a looong time fan of these characters
In the anime after the marine took the money, Nami run to Arlong and tell him why did he lied about his promises and Arlong shut her mouth with his hand and ask Nami when did he break his promise. That moment really made Arlong such an amazing villain
Oda has masterfully communicated that characters do things for a reason. And he make us care whatever that reason is. Even the villain's back stories dictates the actions, emotions and decisions they make.
I've technically watched the whole OP season 1 more than 8 times now just by watching the reactions on YT and I pretty much can say you guys are really fun to watch together with. Can't wait for the finale reaction!
Nami's tragic backstory turned two more people into a sobbing mess. It was wonderful to see the humanity in your reaction during this episode, thank you for sharing! As for the depth and appeal of One Piece, it is what makes the series such a wonderful journey to behold. The writer manages to really get to the essence of humanity and all the emotions that are a part of it while telling an incredibly compelling story... yet never does he make it sound like he is lecturing the reader/watcher out of some point of moral superiority. He shows the tragedy in a way that only his fantasy world can do by simultaneously having real world parallels and diverging from them so utterly that people can't just fall back on existing tribalisms or even feel the need to do so. It is a world that manages to be good and bad and black and white, and yet is filled with nothing but greys that make nothing ever simple. It is utter magic.
Your comment in the end about Arlong and violence begetting more violence is right on the mark, more than you know! That's actually explored more in depth at a futher point in the anime (Fishman Island arc). We get to see how Arlong became how he is, and why breaking that cycle of hatred and violence is so difficult, yet so important.
Y’all reactions to the live action one piece episodes are the best reactions I’ve seen since it dropped on Netflix Istg, especially y’all reaction to Nami story and her asking Luffy for help.
Great reaction and an awesome show!!!! As a OP manga reader and anime watcher it was really cool to see them successfully adapt it into a solid live action and keep the same spirit of the original. Everyone who worked on this show should be proud!!!
This is the second video of you two I’ve seen and I just realized how well these videos are edited. The way you cut from the source to your immediate reactions than back to the source is really impressive work. Big Kudos!!!
The writers did an excellent job at condensing the story of these first arcs, because even when they fit 40+ episodes into only 8 1hr ones, the essence of it all still got across, no matter the format (manga, anime or live action), and the best prof of that are those tears. The way you guys described the progression of the story you’ve watched in these few episodes is basically a microcosm of the whole One Piece experience; it is the reason why the story has kept on going since 1997, why it has such a loyal fan base, and most of all, why even now it is still able to get new fans enchanted and hooked with its adventures.
I really can't wait for them to see the other crew members back stories. Brook, chopper, robin. God, they won't stop crying haha. We love this story so much.
The "help me" moment is one of the most iconic in the entirety of One Piece, and probably the earliest you see the show's full potential shine through. I love that for all the changes made for the live action adaptation, that scene was put together essentially shot-for-shot identical to the anime/manga.
Fun fact for you guys, in the manga and anime, the town knew from the beginning about namis deal and her struggle with arlong. When the marines take the money from her, the villagers decide to take matters into their own hands and go after arlong. This leads to namis breakdown and the help me scene. So a bit different in the live action but still done very well
The scene where Nami breaks down is what got me to even attempt to watch the anime. I saw the clip randomly and I just had to know the context. And while I will always prefer how the animanga handled this arc, I have to once again give it up to Emily Rudd man. Her screams both when the Marines are taking her money and when she breaks down are top tier man. She really puts her entire being into this performance and this episode is the first time she gets to express such huge emotion. And then bringing it back down to the small “Luffy… Help me.” Ugh my heart! And the moment when Luffy puts his hat on Nami, the same hat he is so protective of, that he considers to be his treasure. Ugh! Shoot me! But what a way to finally get through to Nami that she now has people who will support her always.
Another great episode guys, and the one I was looking forward to the most! This is my favourite backstory (so far), with Sanji’s being a close second, and although it’s condensed compared to the manga and anime, when she breaks down and starts stabbing herself in the arm, my eyes immediately tear up. Emily Rudd does a phenomenal job here.
She did Phenomenal! Such a great performance. Her nuance acting through the season was executed very well. There’s always so much turmoil right underneath the surface with her acting. But when she finally lets people in…wow….that was some powerful acting. It got us good!
It's the first time nami asked for help to somebody. It's so hard for her trust someone other than her family. Pirates are usually seen as bad people in this world, and Arlong made that even worse for Nami's view about the pirates that's why she hates pirates so much. Nami is top favorite woman in this show. She's so well written. Some people thinks she always doubts luffy, but deep instead of her heart, she trusts him. She's just scared of the possibilities which is normal. She is the best navigator out there, no machines required, she predicts what's coming by using her own body and boom, they're all saved from huge waves, storms, and cyclones (even sickness can't stop her awesomeness). She's a cartographer, arlong admits that she is a genius and makes accurate maps that no one could. She's the financial manager too, in anime, she often charge the crew with money and often raise the charge, but she never uses those money for her own desires. Instead, she uses all of their money to budget their everyday needs. Charging them with berries is her way to ask for their fair share to buy all of them foods, clothes, boozes, ship equipments, and etc, (in my own understanding and view). She's the mom of the group, an asian mom who beats up her kids for a reason (unlike haters who keeps saying she's beating them up for no reason which makes no sense at all). She's also the negotiator, she's a smooth talker and doesn't get swindle easily. She's practical, rational, and one of the most realistic. She may be the weakest member in terms of physical strength, but that doesnt mean she's overall weak, her skills and capabilities are her strength. She has good mental strength too. I'm so happy that Emily Rudd got the role as nami because she gave justice to it. Her eyes is enough to convey the emotions🙌🤍
Take note of the name Jimbei since it was mentioned by Arlong... Aside from that, in the manga version, nami's mom was shown getting killed, so in here it was still amazingly done...and the fact that you bkth cried means the the series is doing it justice...thanks to Eiichiro Oda...and with season 2 already confirmed, many are already excited to see a newcomer straw hat crew!
It's amazing to see someone watch this show with zero previous knowledge of the story. It proved to me that this story is actually great, it's not just my opinion. I've been reading the manga for 20 years (i'm 30) and it is impossible for me to watch this objectively. So nice to see you guys like it.
The walk to arlong park is one of the most iconic momments in all one piece it showed us glimpse of what to expect in this anime. Momments like this is what i scared when they announced the live action but they did justice to the scene. Yea the anime and manga did a outstanding job but the live action really tryed their best the actress who played nami did a wonderful job the whole scene was 7/10 compared to the anime.
I love how Luffy is getting more and more into his ,,Captain-mode", especially after Nami left. 🧡 He didn't stop until she was reunited with them and rescued.
They definitely played around with the colors a lot in this episode. When Nami goes to collect from the village everyone is mostly greyed out except for Nami and her sister. Not only does it give them more of a pronounced screen presence but gives us an insight on the mood of a beaten down village in contrast to Nami's will to fight still being strong. Also love how relentless Luffy's whole personality is. Once he has a read on who you are he doesn't let go. I just appreciate how much of a reassuring presence he is.
When you talked about how hard the goodbye with Zeff was, all i could think was "thats nothing compared to what you're about to go through." Also, nothing hits me as hard as the symbolism of Luffy giving her his hat. Because the hat represents his dream. He sets aside his dream to help her. And believe it or not, the anime hits even harder than this.
I know I'm late to this, but hearing the praise you guys have for the story that I've loved for over 15 years all because of this show makes me so happy and even tear up a little!
I love all the actors in this show, I think everyone, even the supporting roles like Zeff are great (good old Ghost from the original Modern Warfare 2), but Emily Rudd is just shining brighter. I feel her role was the most complex out of all the guys, and she did an amazing job, not just in this episode, but all the ones before this. And man, this episode... in the village with the straw hats, when she turns away and you see on her face the effort not to break down. When Nezumi has her ransom confiscated, those screams and that expression... And then there's the help me, which floors me every time I see it. I know we should not measure success based on awards, but I really hope Emily at least gets an Emmy nod.
Hey, I just wanted to comment to add that one of a very few things I personally missed in the live-action was how badass Bellemere originally was. In the manga/anime, she carried Nami and Nojiko through stormy waters on a tiny boat back to their island and collapsed, begging the town doctor to keep them safe. Then, when Arlong shows up, she knocks him on his ass and shoves a gun in his mouth. She was kinda thuggish and impulsive, but in a deeply lovable way. Definitely not complaining, though, I absolutely love the live-action and I'm very happy you guys are enjoying it :)
Disagree. The acting in this show is not amazing; it's inconsistent, because it does have good-acted scenes, but then it has bad-acted scenes with Morgan Davies; he is a bad actor, and Jacob Romero isn't good either. Mackenyu is just average. Iñaki Godoy and Taz Skylar are passable; Emily Rudd is good; and the only really good and consistent actor in this show is Jeff Ward. The acting in this show is like a low or high 7/10; I wouldn't go as far as saying amazing; amazing acting in more recent shows are BCS, Succession, The Bear, TLOU, Chernobyl, Ted Lasso, Barry, Severance, etc.; the acting in this is more like passable to low good.
when i watched "luffy help me" in anime at that exact moment i somehow knew this will become my most favourite thing in the world. amazing reaction guys keep it up
I've noticed, it's not clear in the live action why Nami is so important to Arlong's plan. He says something like, "we know every marine and pirate stronghold." But that's not the main reason. In the anime, the Arlong pirates send 3 fishmen to sink a marine battleship and just by adjusting an underwater rock structure, they caused a large whirlpool. The entire battleship sunk without the marines even knowing what they were fighting. The main reason is Nami's maps show underwater geological landmarks or call outs. It provides the Fishman with the sea and land information they need to manipulate the sea, which is what makes fishmen so powerful.
Oda is a man with a fish-head who will stab you right in the heart, smile at you, and twist the knife. Then you'll thank him for it and ask him to do it again. One Piece fans are just masochists in a pirate costume.
He knows how to break our hearts over and over again. We love the writing of the show and how the emotional moments are so heartwarming and gut wrenching simultaneously.
This is just one of the greatest scene there will be more heartbreak but also wholesome cute momment , even I thing the story couldn't get any better than this scene , the fact is there is more and more , can be heartbreaking can be funny , can be wholeshome , can be irritated , can feel disgusted, can be sad , can be happy , can be romance , can be mystery, can be comedy , can be horror , can be scifi and more more more , speaking of romance the creator said there will be no romance among the crewmate but the crew will get romance outside the crew
Eiichiro Oda the creator of this amazing One Piece world really good at playing with your emotions. It's not only for the Straw Hat crew but almost every characters backstory would end up making you cry loudly. I couldn't count how many times I cried within this One Piece long journey 😭

Emily Rudd nailed the last sequence, her screams gave me chills
Her performance was fantastic! You can see so much thought through her eyes during the entire season. And now we know why. She killed it!

Going from 'haha goofy pirate story' to 'deep social commentary and emotional human stories' is One Piece's signature move. Buckle up, because it gets more and more intense with each arc.
True.
yea wait till they get to brooks backstory😅
I watched this scene so many times and Nami asking "Luffy, help me" always brings me to tears, such a heartbreaking back story.
That moment was so devastating yet beautiful... it broke our hearts and the tears could not be stopped!

Love that last shot of them heading into the battle!
Oda is just absolutely amazing writer
agree there is something visceral about this particular scene that i cannot explain into words. zorro in the left, sanji in the right middle standing and smoking, and usopp contemplating beside sanji, the setting is during the night giving more menacing ambience. it just like a band of brother ready to give an all out war. just masterpiece@@OfficialMediaKnights
100 mil*
I can't remember properly, so maybe I've made it up
@@leespn4396if I remember correctly in the manga it just seems like Arlong is a supremacist, we only really find out why on Sabaody / Fishman Island
Definitely - makes the Fishman island arc feels less out of place as well if its mentioned here so directly
Sorry about that 😂😂😂
@OfficialMediaKnights you guys got me crying at 6 in the morning 😭🤣
Interesting to see some of the differences with the adaptation. Most likely to cut down time!
Because that's who I am.'
'Of course I will-' Reassuring, gentle. Unspoken continuation of '-because I know now why you did what you did, I understand, and I forgive you completely. There isn't even anything to forgive... I would have done the same. I just wish you'd told us all this earlier because we would have just let you bring Arlong the map and then got it back when we were done kicking his ass.'
'OF COURSE I WILL-' Loudly, exuberantly, enthusastically. Not caring who hears. Unspoken continuation of '-BECAUSE YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND NOBODY SCREWS WITH MY FRIENDS!!! HE MADE YOU CRY, AND THAT IS GONNA COST HIM BIG TIME.'
SO MUCH was done with and conveyed with only _the exact same line delivered three different ways._
Inaki Godoy is a hell of an actor.
I can’t take the Koby and Helmeppo conversation scenes seriously when Helmeppo is just there sitting with his stupid haircut. 😂
I know right! His hair is so distracting 😂
Besides being the navigator and their resident meteorologist on the ship, Nami is also the money lover, the finance manager, the treasure seeker 😆😆😆
and the strongest, the baby sitter 😆😆😆
Love all of these! She’s great and we’re so glad she’s sticking around 😄 We can’t wait for the rest of the adventures with the crew!
Lol definitely the babysitter
She's the navigator, financial manager, mom/big sister of the group, cartographer, sailing captain (since she has the most experience in sailing) and the negotiator. I remember Robin feeling bad for Nami being in the group because she has so much to do😭. Nami's tragic past is the root of her being greedy for money, plus money is essential for them especially that they have so much things to buy such as foods, boozes, clothes, ship equipments, and etc. ESPECIALLY FOODS since their captain is ALWAYS hungry😭
the overworked braincell of the group lmao.
Awwwww man, I can't help but cry again especially seeing you guys crying, I love watching this again with you both...you can see the emotions build on your faces, so genuine.
This is such a beautiful and kind comment, thank you so so much!! You made our day 😊
the help me scene still hits 😭
It will never not hit 😭
Trust me when I say you're gonna be sobbing hard when you watch the anime. Yes its cartoony and wacky and goofy, but this is what makes One Piece very good. The emotional moments will hit you hard.
We were surprised by how many sincere emotional scenes this show has. It got us at every single beat!

I don't normally comment on videos but i have to say, you guys are amazing reactors. Your discussions, breakdown, the empathy you have for the characters and the respect for the writing + direction of this live action have all been a treat to watch from the very first episode. every major character in One Piece has an incredible back story... the legend, Eiichiro Oda masterfully crafted the characters.. and the production team for the live action did excellence job..not to mention the casts, they just nailed it❤
Oda really has a lot of commentary and it's not pandering, it's actually executed in a way that makes sense
This is the episode this is the episode I was waiting for this is going to be emotional and I know these guys are going to tear up this scene this scene made me tear up a little
We've been waiting for this backstory and we were still not ready!
@@OfficialMediaKnightswell now you
I love how they did the Arlong Park arc in the live action!
Also, it seems alot of the crew have or will get second backsotries before the manga ends.
been waiting for your reactions to this ep ;u; let the tears flow, its such a beautiful show and story
Thank you soo much for your support, the tears definitely flowed!!
its been fantastic guys...i know we got 1 more episode to go,,but i really cant wait for season 2 already..
We wish season 2 was out too! We are gonna miss the crew!
I'm so glad they managed to translate the 'Nami, help me' scene in the live-action version. It was the moment I went from liking One Piece to falling in love with it and Emily Rudd was perfect (also music is so good in this show).I also like how they emphasized the 'hat transfer' without resorting to flashbacks (like in the anime), mirroring the promise he made to Shanks: "I'll deal with Arlong, and once you're free, you'll return my hat to me."
Side note on Nami trusting arlong: within his crew, they're bound by a rule not to lie about money.
14:14 honestly I was shocked by how well the actress that portrayed Nami acted in that scene holy moly.
I love that with this live action, people now understands why One Piece is 1000+ chapters and still ongoing stronger than ever
Thank you so much! It means the world to both of us that you guys are enjoying these ❤️
The writers did an excellent job at condensing the story of these first arcs, because even when they fit 40+ episodes into only 8 1hr ones, the essence of it all still got across, no matter the format (manga, anime or live action), and the best prof of that are those tears.
This scene is iconic and for many this is the moment that hooked them on One Piece.
You guys have the best reactions of the non-OP watchers/readers I've seen. Great work!
Loving your reactions! Awesome to see you all in! Prepare for more and more greatness
So nice to see you guys like it.
one of the most emotional episode. loved it. loved your reaction to One Piece. keep it up.
Dig your reactions. Thank you for sharing. Totally agree with you two about One Piece. Relatable to the fullest and the writing, directing on point!!!
When you talked about how hard the goodbye with Zeff was, all i could think was "thats nothing compared to what you're about to go through."
Also, nothing hits me as hard as the symbolism of Luffy giving her his hat.
Because the hat represents his dream.
He sets aside his dream to help her.
And believe it or not, the anime hits even harder than this.
Just love your commentary during the reaction. Thanks for sharing.
"its a funny goofy pirate show 😀 "

This one...this is the episode that had me drowning in tears. That help me at the end...uff great permormance!
What an incredible moment there! It get's you good! What a show. We truly can't wait for season 2!
I know I'm late to this, but hearing the praise you guys have for the story that I've loved for over 15 years all because of this show makes me so happy and even tear up a little!
This is now my favourite reaction channel. Keep up the good work
I love all the actors in this show, I think everyone, even the supporting roles like Zeff are great (good old Ghost from the original Modern Warfare 2), but Emily Rudd is just shining brighter.
Start of the episode: “here we go this is what we were waiting for all season”
End of episode: “we weren’t ready for this”
The acting in this episode is amazing!

Loved y’all’s reaction to this, as usual. It was emotional getting through the anime when I watched it years back. “ Luffy… help me.” Broke me down😩
"This kid reminds me of gold roger"
Pure goosebumps🥶
Emily Rudd wow
Oda is a man with a fish-head who will stab you right in the heart, smile at you, and twist the knife. Then you'll thank him for it and ask him to do it again. One Piece fans are just masochists in a pirate costume.
He knows how to break our hearts over and over again. We love the writing of the show and how the emotional moments are so heartwarming and gut wrenching simultaneously.
Thats why I love one piece in anime and live action because 😢😢😢 this story really make me realize that anime can make you cry

that "help me" scene was the seal deal for me
Eiichiro Oda the creator of this amazing One Piece world really good at playing with your emotions. It's not only for the Straw Hat crew but almost every characters backstory would end up making you cry loudly. I couldn't count how many times I cried within this One Piece long journey 😭
This was great but the crazy thing is the anime is even more emotional. There’s a lot more build up. Love your reactions
