SinfullyRiddling when I saw your video that you announced you were going full time streaming, I had an epiphany. I remember vaguely forever ago that you said you were gonna start, and I never really followed up on your channel to see if you did or not (btw so sorry I never came to your streams, which will fixed!!). so when I saw that video, it blew me away. I've wanted to start streaming for so long and it's been a dream of mine to entertain people. you've officially given me the motivation to start streaming as soon as I physically can and thank you so much for posting this video, it helped 1000x times more!! stay awesome!!
I've originally started streaming as a way to get over my stuttering problem, and as I kept talking to the chat, and sometimes talking to myself since I tend to narrate what I'm doing in the game, I did notice not only my speech improving, but people were actually interested in the games I was streaming, and as a result I was able to gain 40+ followers, since I didn't really go into streaming expecting to become a great streamer over night, I just streamed simply to help my speech issue, but now I like streaming in general since it's not only therapeutic, but because it's also fun. :)
That's really amazing to hear. :) Streaming can help a lot with stuff like that- for me, it really has helped me push past feeling shy and vocalizing my thoughts! It's a lot of fun :D
This was a good video with lots of quality advice. I've never watched you stream, and stumbled across this video randomly, but it appears you're good at what you do. Keep up the good work.
Today I felt pretty bummed out because the last few weeks there hasn't been any changes in my follower or view count. I felt stupid for putting so much work into this and not see any change. This video made me feel better because you made me realize a lot of important things that i can do to improve my twitch experience. I will definitely make those changes, change the way i approach twitch and put the work that needs do be done. Thanks for this video and for the awesome vibes you always share with your viewers on youtube and twitch.
"I really need to stop hitting things." xD Awesome video Meghan! I'm really glad you decided to make this. I think this will be so helpful for new streamers. I can't wait for more videos!
If I'm being honest, I didn't think this would be very informational but it's actually filled with tons of good information. I appreciate it a lot and the music is on point! Lol.
DeadlyPsyko lol me neither, I started commenting how she's successful because she's an attractive girl. but then I was like, wow she actually droppin hella knowledge
Definitely never good to make assumptions about people- we all get first impressions from others sometimes, but sadly some let that first impression damage their view of someone before giving them a chance. Good on you for watching through despite what you may have thought at first!
I watch videos like this every so often, cause it tends to be good feedback in general. Not to mention it reminds me of when I'm messing up on stuff I should know about already. Only been streaming since spring of this year, but really like it so far. One of the things I took in heavily from this video is posting your schedule weekly. I have no way of having a set schedule, but I usually can tell what most of the week is like. I will have to adopt scheduling on a week to week basis for sure. And I do agree follower count really doesn't count for much, or concurrent for that matter. Just simply focusing on the people who are there is truly what you gotta do. Having a discord is pretty important for growing the community as well. I'll be sharing this vid with a few friends
Hey, Megan! Just wanted to rest out and say thank you! My wife shared this video with me yesterday and it's been really helpful/inspiring. Thank you so much!
Great video! this was super helpful and the video length was fine - longer the better when you have useful info to share. I also appreciated your positivity!!! It helps a lot! Good luck streaming.
Hey Sinfully! Thanks for the tips! I'm a pretty socially strange person and am not really sure about how my first stream is going to go, though I'm SUPER EXCITED! Thanks for PUMPING ME UP!! You da best!
I've been eating up videos like this on twitch and holy doki, this is by far the best I've found so far! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful tips for new twitch streamers to grow their channels. This is a truly terrific video and I really enjoyed all the content in it.
6:40 mark on, you helped me get passed the fact that I was watching a streamer and driving myself nuts because I couldn't understand how many people were watching. Instead of applauding him for his work, I was struggling with the why. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making me realize it isn't about the others, but what I am about!
Wonderful message Sin, my biggest issue is scheduling. Has been for a while with my hectic work schedule. Had no idea it made that much of an impact- ill have to find some way to alleviate that. Thanks for the video!
thank you for the tips. i'll start recording/streaming soon. and i'll make sure to follow and learn from what you said. keep up the good work. and bless you , i hope you success more the way you are now.
These tips are really helpful for me btw, thanks so much for these amazing tips. It actually helps me a lot growing my channel and have more fun streaming it.
This video just got you a new subscriber, i have watched a lot of videos like this and none were motivational what so ever but this video has me thinking of the things i can bring to the community. Thank you!
Amazing, concise guide. I've been looking through a few guides and this is one of the best. Bullet point style delivery with just enough depth for each.
Honestly really helpful. I watched this before I started streaming but I didn't understand much of it since I had never streamed before. But now that I am streaming, I watched the video again and I understand way more of it 😊 good job
This was honestly really inspiring, thanks so much for taking the time to craft and post this for us new streamers. It's great to know there is an entire community out there willing to help other's attain success on par with their own. It definitely isn't all about the money, it's about community and comradery, you're the real MVP, thanks again or all these tips!
Moonajuana Thanks for checking it out! :) I'm really glad you found it helpful. I really appreciate the kind words as well! The Twitch community is awesome and filled with so many supportive people!
Just seen you were on a little while ago and wanted to tell you after watching your tips video that you have a lot of passion for what you do. Keep it up its going to inspire a lot of people that watch it like it did for me. Just wanted to let you know this.
Realising that there are things that I have no control over has been my life changer. Just letting things go and not stressing about them because I can’t change them has made my life so much easier.
Thank you for these helpful tips I've taken a few notes to them and just wanted to say thank you. I started streaming because I am usually one of those quiet type of people. But I also love playing video games if I'm not at work its my ps4 or sims on my computer. It is therapeutic for me and has helped me overcome being quiet or shy. I wouldn't talk that much at work or with anyone usually just kept to myself, but I've noticed since I started streaming its been super helpful for me. So I stream for my viewers now while hoping that maybe something I'm doing or saying can help them just like streaming has helped me. You mentioned the little mascot funny enough thats the first thing I created myself after I managed to come up with an actual theme for myself. But keep doing what your doing and continue being an awesome person.
as someone with an interest in streaming this is HUGE! good tips and feedback for gamers trying to get after something different or their next big thing that they see as unique!
sinful that was crazy helpful and i cant wait to join the twitch community! If you could possibly chat with me and give me some more in-depth tips and pointers that would be much appreciated. I've never done anything like this and i'm also super excited! being brand new to this is also very intimidating and i know i'm not going to be epic right off the bat but i would like for people to see me and think "WOW this guy did his homework and had a good foundation to work with". Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and i would love to hear from you and get a experienced twitch streamers input on some more info so when i start i don't look crazy ridiculous.
Thanks for the tips and the vid in general, I really needed that cuz I was just overwhelmed with the huge viewer and follower counts on the top. All in all great video, lots of love
Listening your talk makes me getting more hyper to start fixing my stream information. because i do find a lots of information and tips can help me makes the stream better, i started a yr ago with ps4 and stopped because don't know much about streaming and twitching , but now i really want to get into it and start watch more videos to learn from it. anyways, all i want to say is thank you for your video . i can feel i got helped already.
So many tips :o but thank you for covering so much :) i actually want to start streaming once I can get a good PC that can do what i need it to do, and have good internet. Cause I'm insecure about myself a lot.. And want to try and overcome it and i think streaming might be a good way to overcome it as well as improving other things i lack, also streaming just seems super fun! Whenever I watch your streams. You always make them super fun, entertaining and welcoming for everyone too. :)
Zaib97HD Thanks so much buddy :D I'm so glad you enjoy the streams and that this video helped. I definitely think streaming is a great way to help overcome shyness/insecurity! :)
Thank you for making this video! I started to stream and honestly I love it and this is helping me and giving me ideas on how I can grow my channel and just be the best I can be! Thank you!
thank you thank you thank you!! my cousin and i started streaming together and to be honest i was starting to feel a little overwhelmed by not wanting to suck haha. but you just totally turned that around and now im super excited to get a schedule going!
Two weeks ago my coworker gave me a webcam and said I should try streaming and loved it ever since! Coming from someone new to streaming this video was very helpful. I come home from a long days work looking forward to stream and interact with chat. I will take your advice and will soon setup and schedule for my channel. Thanks!
Thank you for the great advice. I just started a gaming TH-cam channel and I plan on Twitch streaming as well so I appreciate all of the quality info. 👍
It's kinda like your having a long string of thoughts, but everyone can hear them. So if you get a lot out of listening to your self talk. Then streaming is a very thought oriented way to clear your head. When you think about it. It's kinda of a poor persons therapy. Any how, has anyone thought of question that made you think ,"Yep I going to laugh just to keep everyone else happy?" Or even better did someone do something that you think," Yep I have just entered crazy town, and all I can see is you. Yep population 1." Oops lost my train of thought. Well hmmmm..... Let's see....... Yep it's gone. Great video, very thoughtful of you to spend time making it. Hope I made someone's day by posting this here. If not oo well I enjoyed writing it out. Thanks for coming BSP out ;)
Just a wittle shoutout, thanks muchly for this. I've streamed elsewhere, but I wanted to know more about twitch, so this was hella helpful. Thanks heaps!
Really appreciate all the tips and insight! I recently created a Twitch account to join the creative community and live stream sewing and craft projects. Definitely a different beast compared to TH-cam. Also agree that your voice ROCKS!
You were extremely helpful! I feel like this video unedited would seem like 5 hours long lol. I took the time to pause and write down important things to keep as notes! I've actually been streaming on TH-cam for a while now but I'm considering in switching to Twitch since the community is stronger there for streaming games! Thanks so much for this video!
This video made me feel better and has helped me learn things i should keep in mind when i start, glad i found this randomnly. X'D lots of tips i can learn from.
I've been streaming less than a year. One of the main reasons I started doing it was to improve my communication skills. Having to keep talking during the stream helps on that front. I've been watching a lot of streamers (Including you, who I just discovered about a week ago) and observing them as a way of picking up tips and guidance. I think I've made some progress in the short time I've been streaming, but I still have a lot to learn and I'm still making mistakes. Watching videos like this one is a big help.
HONESTLY Meg, your advice is so much more helpful compared to the other twitch advices on youtube even though this video is almost 2 years old. It still beats the current advice other twitch streamers have this year. I'm a new streamer (3 weeks old). The only thing I need to improve on is getting a unique logo, make a video about self-introduction on youtube and what makes me unique, and self-introduce/make friends at conventions (I'll be going to PAX west this year)
Wow I think it was meant for me to come across your video because it was EXACTLY what I needed to hear. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and I will take heed to them. Even though you are gamer you might want to look into motivational speaking :-). I was absolutely intrigued in what you had to say next. Keep being you! Thanks.
Excellent video. You're a lovely person and that comes across, full spectrum, in this video. I'm a fledgeling game blogger and barely put together streamer and I've watched quite a few of these tip style videos. Your's has been my favorite so far, even if it was like 10 hours long 🤣 Thank you for the great insight. I look forward to checking out your channel and keeping up with you on social media!
very helpful video Meg i started streaming like a month ago and you just help me a lot .. very good tips.! i will try to follow your tips .. hope you have a great day :)) oh and btw your voiceeeeee so amazing :D
I started streaming because of my friends and i never bother paying attention to my follower count but occasionally i do glance at it and i'm always surprised to slowly see it growing. I've just started making my streams look a bit more i guess what some of my twitter followers say cooler and that's helped catch peoples eyes a bit more and a few people jump in and chat for a bit which is really cool. I love interacting with my followers cause i love their feed back and suggestions.
Thank you for this video, a lot of nicely put advices and tips - and so much positivity it's incredible :) For me streaming is mostly to learn english and be more open to people than shy - and talking constantly about some aspects of currently played game or just about funny moment in a day is really helping out :) And good words about not expecting to become a huge streamer over night and doing it only for money, maybe it's just nice to start it for fun reasons and hard work to the top?
Thanks seeing videos like this with awesome advice really help keep me motivated. I’ve started streaming like a month ago and I love it but I get like max one viewer constantly and I gets disheartening I feel like there is something more I could be doing to improve my stream or think I’m rubbish. Thanks again this video was like a pep talk form me
Thank you so much. I am a crafter, I am going into streaming at the suggestion of my hubby...lol I am a total beginner :) Your video was really helpful and contained a lot of useful info.
Solid advice! really enjoy the Be Yourself - don't compare to other people comment. I think that is also sooo important. It's what I try to do on my twitch channel and encourage others to fine their own groove.
Im very Thankfull for your insight im pretty new but not as fresh as i should be i guess it is realy hard for me to get my twitch started. Your look on things has helped me a lot to put things in perspective :)
Thanks for making this , I wanted to start streaming but was intimidated but your tips really encourage me plus you're personality made me check your streams out
I used to stream on xbox and it was easy to set up. I would ussually get around 5 views max. One day i eneded up getting about 50. It shocked me. Ive wanted to stream on pc for a while but no clue on what im doing so this video helps a lot! Thanks. Gonna sub too because you deserve it!
hey don't forget the voice too, it's the full package! 👍 btw, 3 days a week is taxing enough for me. Maybe I need a new game. Probably just burnt out on Fortnite. 🙇🏻
These are great tips, I'm glad someone took the time to coherently put these together for anyone looking to grow their audience. The best thing really is to not stream a super popular game and expect growth. You'll be lucky to have people stop by for a minute or so, and even luckier to get someone to chat with you! But if you enjoy what you're streaming, then who cares right? I stream anything but mostly Overwatch, Siege, and Melee and even with my 3-4 IRL friends in my chat all the time I still struggle to gain people and I hit every tip on this list! Bottom line, stay positive and keep going. Some of my best streams have been on days where I almost didn't go live! Unfortunately for me, I'm a very results driven person and put my best at everything I do, so streaming has been a wild ride in that regard. But all it takes is one new person to join and start talking to push me to keep going! Every stream can be an improvement, and that's what makes it fun for me, along with the connections I've made with people :)
Cool vid. Been watching for a long time and been trying my hand as a streamer for a little while. My current content is still pretty crappy for many reasons because of my complicated life, chronic health issues and crappy equipment, but I'm learning a lot and one of these days I'll make something I feel good about. Keep up the good work!
I would say my biggest questions would be about editing and post-production and that sort of stuff. Going through hundreds of hours of content for clipping and highlights and that sort of stuff is a big chore for me. How much do you do yourself and how many people help you with that part of the content?
I am doing youtube now about 1 year, i always wanted to have like few thousand subscribers at least but not cause of the money i just really wanted to connect to my fans and do like QnA's and stuff like that, and i decided to make twitch cause i just love streaming i started streaming on youtube and i just loved it. Youre awesome and thank you for this video.
I really needed the tip about the donation button. I just started streaming today and as I was working on my layout I felt extremely awkward putting up a "top donator" or "last subscriber" box in there since I basically have 0 views, and 0 followers, but then I started thinking to myself if it wouldn't seem unprofessional that I didn't have those boxes in my layout. Thank you very much :)
Glittering Guts Of course!! :) It does feel kinda weird having that there right off the bat. Some bigger streamers don't even include those things in their overlay-never worry about feeling like you don't look right when it comes to things like that!
Excellent Information. I shows that you put a lot of thought into the video. I'm sure streamers, if they haven't already, will benefit from your tips. Thanks!! :)
I gained 72 followers from having a technical difficulties freak out and was yelling at stuff in the back ground lol
D.E.G. Rofl, that's awesome
That kind of stuff can be funny to watch!!
Cross dress lol
Cool, interesting. People like problems that streamer need to solve :)
I hope you guys find this helpful~let me know if you have any more questions, and if you'd like me to make a video covering Twitch partnership! Please hit the like button if you enjoyed. 💚
Nice video...hope to catch your stream again soon #PD

SinfullyRiddling Can you grow on twitch without social media?
SinfullyRiddling the tips were awesome! Definitely going to take them to try to better my channel and stream thanks !
I do everything that these tutorials say but people are still not knocking to see my live streams any advice for me. centrevez vectra

I have stuttering problem too. I hope when I start streaming I can overcome it like you did.
Dudley731 - Night Owl same I have a stutter problem as well and if I'm not narrating the game for myself sometimes I forget what I wanted to do lol.
Dudley731 - Night Owl completely agree on that it's brilliant I have adhd so it's funny for me
This was a good video with lots of quality advice. I've never watched you stream, and stumbled across this video randomly, but it appears you're good at what you do. Keep up the good work.

A lot of really great advice. Well done and thanks so much!
You are so awesome! You just gave me the courage to really try this!
This video is something I needed in my life. I don't know what you stream or anything about you but I love your input. Thank you so much for this!

Exo Thanks so much!! So glad it helped you out :)
Just a friendly little feedback: the music is too loud and distracting

Fuck that was weird
Just a wittle shoutout, thanks muchly for this. I've streamed elsewhere, but I wanted to know more about twitch, so this was hella helpful. Thanks heaps!
Really appreciate all the tips and insight! I recently created a Twitch account to join the creative community and live stream sewing and craft projects. Definitely a different beast compared to TH-cam. Also agree that your voice ROCKS!
This was super helpful! Only just started streaming, there’s just so much to learn but this was a real nice summary and so informative, thank you!
Deadly Nighthawk So glad I could help! :)
This is been so helpful! I love the energy!
Thanks so much for this video!!!
It was super useful!
I’ve been literally taking notes!
😁
Razale so glad I could help :)
Awesome video Meg! So great of you to help people out! ❤️
That's a great reason to start streaming. :) Streaming has helped me open up a ton!
I wish you the best of luck with everything!!
HONESTLY Meg, your advice is so much more helpful compared to the other twitch advices on youtube even though this video is almost 2 years old. It still beats the current advice other twitch streamers have this year. I'm a new streamer (3 weeks old). The only thing I need to improve on is getting a unique logo, make a video about self-introduction on youtube and what makes me unique, and self-introduce/make friends at conventions (I'll be going to PAX west this year)
FrostyRnB77 Wishing you the best with all of that!
This is amazing!!! Thank you very much, I am currently getting into streaming super nooby lol. Your personality is pretty awesome! GL
Jason Barsanti Thanks so much!! Best of luck with your channel :)
Awesome video! It was definitely helpful. I'm sure it wasn't easy to edit 😜 nice job
Thanks girl! Nice video, clean cuts, nice knowledge. Appreciated!!!
Thanks.
Thank you for this. Really helpful to hear from someone who went through the motions. Will be putting your tips into practice.
Thank you for this video. It really answered some of my thoughts before getting ready to stream.
Thank you for making this vid it was so helpful, I hope tons of success comes your way. I can say thank u enough. Definitely gained a follower. 😉
very helpful video Meg i started streaming like a month ago and you just help me a lot .. very good tips.!
i will try to follow your tips .. hope you have a great day :))
oh and btw your voiceeeeee so amazing :D
Thanks for all the great info! You got a wonderful voice to listen to.
Hey this video was awesome! Definitely had some great tips to get started, so thank you for putting this up.
Thank you for this video, a lot of nicely put advices and tips - and so much positivity it's incredible :)
For me streaming is mostly to learn english and be more open to people than shy - and talking constantly about some aspects of currently played game or just about funny moment in a day is really helping out :) And good words about not expecting to become a huge streamer over night and doing it only for money, maybe it's just nice to start it for fun reasons and hard work to the top?
Silver Sablinova Streaming is an awesome way to become more social and open! It’s definitely helped me with that. Wishing you the best of luck! :)
Glad I found the video, it was informative and I'm looking to get into streaming for the new 2018 year. :)
Legend! thanks for the tips, super helpful :D great advice
This video is full of so much good information that even experienced broadcasters should take note of!
It's what I try to do on my twitch channel and encourage others to fine their own groove.
jacksondynamite I couldn’t agree more!
Hey, Love this! Super inspirational and helps streamers like myself who are trying to get started.

Flash Kill You got this!
Im very Thankfull for your insight im pretty new but not as fresh as i should be i guess it is realy hard for me to get my twitch started. Your look on things has helped me a lot to put things in perspective :)

Very helpful and insightful, Thanks Sin
Thanks Meg! Very helpful. Grateful!
One of thee best explanations on helping people getting started!
You look like Rogue from XMen hair wise, which looks great on u
hey don't forget the voice too, it's the full package! 👍
btw, 3 days a week is taxing enough for me. Maybe I need a new game. Probably just burnt out on Fortnite. 🙇🏻
really helpful good motivation I loved the video! from one streamer to another
These are great tips, I'm glad someone took the time to coherently put these together for anyone looking to grow their audience.
Doc Money All very well said! :)
Also, your positive attitude rocks.
Same but I'm going to make my first stream soon
Thanks so much for posting this :D
you were super helpful. i appreciate this video so much!
Thanks for all the tips! I can't wait to start streaming
Excellent Information. I shows that you put a lot of thought into the video. I'm sure streamers, if they haven't already, will benefit from your tips. Thanks!! :)
