I live not far from Trafford, and go by those apartments all the time. I recognized all those locations. I worked up by Mars, and went by those locations all the time. Awsome job Jordan !
Absolutely amazing lol I can't believe how funny this is as it's one of my favorite movies! Jordan just a beautiful job that was funny n well done Ty! Luv&Peace Sean&family.
Two Wins Wins in a row Planes Trains and now King Pin. Thanks Jordan. Now all we are missing is you making a trip to the post office or buying Jaw some dog food haha. Love it. Thanks again for taking us on your adventures!!
My Mom bought Kingpin when it came out on VHS and I still own that copy today... Love kingpin and love that you brought us here Jordan... Thank you and I hope your well.... ✌️👅 hahahaha
THIS RULED dude!! Have watched many of your location tours and thought I had already subbed, but HAVE FOR SURE now! This was great, touching and informative as I have planned on doing these locations for a couple years now. You helped me find a couple spots I was not sure of, thank you so much man, keep up your great work! I'll be watching.
Kingpin is my favorite movie. My wife and I went to Mars, Pennsylvania back in 2002. We went in the bowling alley and saw the liquor store across the street that was the Munson Service Center. The liquor store was more run down then than it was in the movie or is now.
Thank you! It wasn't easy. not many addresses or locations online for this one.. mainly just the reno location, but that isn't open to the public to see the bowling alley, amd they have been renovating it since I was in reno the last time
One of my favorites, great job with this! A few more filming locations in Mars. What is now the Breakneck Tavern (next to his fathers service station) was the location where Big Ern and Roy were eating right after the sugar in the tank scene. Across the street is the 7-eleven right before Uncle Willee's reptile farm. And Uncle Willee's is down the road and is actually called Willee's Tavern.
A great Vlog for a great movie. Many Thanks Jordan for taking the time to research all the locations and producing this celebration of a movie that gave us so much pleasure.
Love Kingpin, One of the more underrated Farrelly Bros movies...so many great lines...Billy Murray was amazing "why dont you go outside and finish that" hahaha
@@DazewithJordantheLion I love that whole sequence, the waitress comes up to him and says " Tanqueray and tab?" He replies " yeah keep them coming I have a long drive" 😄 then proceededs to tell her to wash off her perfume before she comes back to the table lol the 90s and early 2000s were full of gems where you could get away with saying offensive things in movies because it was funny. Now you can't say anything without making somebody angry or offending someone
I'll have to watch this flix Jordon. Looks great. Excellent match ups. Always good to see Sir Jah out n about. Please say safe on your travels. Regards to you n Jar from from Adelaide, South Australia.
I was debating to watch trains planes or this one first, glad I saved this one for last. One of my all time favorites! The land lady craps me up and then him milking the “cow” hahaha Keep on being you! 🦴🐾❤️
A really awesome video this was a funny movies its been awhile since i seen it and it was great to see jah at the end of this video, waiting for the next video thanks Jordan.
I practically grew up in that bowling ally. I'm glad you got footage of it because the borough is getting ready to tear it down. :( ... Just across the river into Beaver is where Ron Howard filmed "Gung Ho: & where Michael Douglas & Toby McGuire starred in "Wonder Boys" & also "I am Number Four" with Timothy Olyphant & Alex Pettyfer. You should check it out next time you're in the area. Thanks for visiting my old stomping grounds!
Carrick Classic Lanes, is the Pink Alley. It is being restored. Also there is a Japanese student traveling small towns to get pictures of the older bowling alleys. Great video, thanks!
Kingpin is one of my favorite movies. And I'm a Pittsburgh native myself and I found some of the locations of this film on Google Map and I was blown away by some of the locations including the bowling alley that was used in the film. Excellent video by the way and I also live near those locations and its incredible to see them. Keep up the good work.
Great video!! We live in Mars PA and recognize everything you pointed out. I moved here after the movie was filmed back in the 90’s and never really knew the details of each scene. I heard stories about the filming here but seeing your video was awesome.
Interesting video. Beaver Valley Bowl in Rochester was still open just a few years ago until a chemical fire happened nearby. Shortly thereafter, a building inspection found so many code violations that the whole building closed permanently. The lanes were still using the same mid-90's computers to add up scores that they installed right after the film. The bar in the film was actually the register/shoe rental area.
Such a quirky, fun movie. I used to love bowling in leagues, so I was drawn to this immediately. Thanks for educating and entertaining us once again, Jordan. Oh to be a fly on the wall when Paul Simon saw that scene with the landlord.
Hi Jordan & Jah, another great film I like. What a great scrapbook (some nice little items in there) and great that they have a couple of props aswell. Well, the Jahster sure got his bed sorted ha, ha. I hope you, Jah and you're family have a Happy Thanksgiving, ENJOY! Great vlog Jordan.
So just for some clarification, at least some of the disco scenes were filmed at Moss Side lanes on Rt 48. At 8:22 of your video there is a still frame of me (Woody’s bowling double for that scene) throwing the ball. I was on the set for 2 days while we filmed the special effects ball rolling, white leisure suit scene at Moss Side lanes.
23:10 always wondered where this bridge was. A bridge across the Lehigh River in Leheighton, PA always reminded me of this scene....but the bridge there never quite matched up. Loved this film. It's raunchy, but has a sweet and sentimental side. Other films (like the new 'vacation') are raunchy, but mean spirited as well.
I hope you enjoy or doing well I've been a fan of yours for a long time I didn't watch out of your channel for a long time Kingpin is a very good movie as 1 of my favorite movies especially since I'm a bowler and I really like that sport It does that sport good at movie is really good Stay healthy and well
This is Tammy from PA and I'm going to research the name of the other bowling Alley . I Wish I could have been there to meet you and Jah So close but so far Thank You for doing this,I'm loving it and learning a lot!
Aww man, this made me laugh, Kingpin is such a great film, awesome video Jordan, and i can't believe the same 533 apartment number sign is still there after all these years!!
Some of the people that worked on the set of King Pin later filmed a commercial (for a hospital about hip replacements) at the bowling alley my family owned (well still owns, although it is no longer in business but the property is for sale). The people on set were amazing and they used much of the same equipment they used to film in King Pin and even shared some photos of the behind the scenes on the set. I have pics of those pics somewhere saved but I don't know where anymore.
This is great, Jordan! Loved this movie. My mom, uncle and grandpa were both in bowling leagues when I was little. I absolutely loved going to the bowling alley. Loved seeing this bowling alley with the paper score cards still in use……. Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🍽🦃
Being from Pennsylvania I saw some things that were familiar to me even though I lived clear across the Eastern part of the state! Another great video!
Very Cool Jordan!! The Dumar Arms location was actually called out as "Scranton, Pa" in the movie. I was living in Scranton at the time as it was where I lived most of my life. I always knew it wasn't actually shot there but this was before The Office and it was fun to see that back then. This is also one of my favorite movies. Wasn't here a line somewhere when Ish asks "Is that a star?" and Roy says " That's not a star, that's Ted Danson" 'after some research, that Ted Danson line was actually from Doc Hollywood.
Oh I love this movie too Jordan. And what a location unique 💛💚🧡. That jacket and cap looks great on you .👍 Happy Thanksgiving Jordan and our American friends ❤ NZ
Your laugh is infectious! I will have to look for this movie, I've never seen it. Pretty cool to show your favorite movie on Thanksgiving. Favorite films are sometimes like old friends. Gobble 🦃Gobble! Thank you, Jordan!!! 🌼
I am watching kingpin movie with a friend for the first time! I knew I recognized the scenes. Now I remember I saw this a month ago with my boyfriend Coley Spivey on the please subscribe show on you tube .Good job Jordan!
Great video! The movie is one of my favorites too. That's awesome you got to thumb through the script. I've always wondered if the Farrelly brothers were also uncredited screenwriters for this movie as well as directors and if they changed Barry Fanaro and Mort Nathan's script drastically. In the director's commentary, Farrelly bros. attribute only like two jokes to Fanaro and Nathan. The humor in the movie definitely seems more in line with the Farrelly's humor. One critic even called Kingpin "the unofficial sequel" to Dumb and Dumber. I hope the sequel's good.
The Blue Spruce had a bar that I frequented. I saw them filming the late night fight scene. There was a rumor about a bungee jumping scene by the pool I don’t think they were able to work out. I’m also embarrassed to say, I lived across the street from the “Munson apartments”
Wow.. That was fantastic. Great finds!! I wonder if the person in Trafford knows he's/she's living in Roy's apartment. I looked at Zillow and that group of apartments sold in 1997 for $15k.. heck of a deal!!
I think they must know because as I was finishing, the apt on the far right that isn't used in the movie at all came out to meet his buddy to move, and saw me and looked at me all strange as they were moving a sofa out, and I said "I'm just doing a movie location video" and he immediately looked less concerned and said, "ohhh ok, no problem"
Great vid. As far as Munsons apartment in the movie it doesn't look like a place I would want to live in. I wish I new what it looked like inside now. Hopefully things have been updated and refurbished inside the apartments including Munsons in particular since the movie to make it look like less of a dump.
Excellent subject , one of my favorite comedy’s . Finally Jordan The Lion is above the law
Your the man Adam, happy thanksgiving.
I mean, I didnt want to get beat by a guy with a hook!
