Retrontario’s primary mission is the preservation, research and exhibition of rare videotape recordings (1970s to 1990s) recorded off of any and all Ontario (and surrounding area) TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. We also hope to create an ongoing oral history of this content through comments left below the videos. Please add to this evolving history, if you know more information pertaining to the clips, fondly remember them or have a modern thought all comments are welcome! I always wanted to go here when I was a kid. I was a grocery store aficionado, knowing who had a cookie club, less secure 10 cent candies and videogame magazines I could write cheat codes down from Gamepro on my hand or paper and bring them home! Sobies was my favorite knly because of the live lobsters and more extensive seafood area. I didn't eat it, just liked to look at it. Haha

We'd stop at the Woodbine and 7 location on the way up to the cottage on Lake Simcoe from time to time. That and Brice's Burger Bar!

Shopping at Knob Hill was quite an experience as it looked like a factory that was 3 times the size of the average supermarket. The Oshawa one lasted until 2000/01 or so. The building still stands as a GO Station has been planned out since then but nothing’s coming of it 🤷‍♂️

Work at AG Simpson back in 84, did all my shopping at the Hill, 2 blocks away.

@@MrEmused I never knew AG was once at that location. It's been next door to Cedardale School as far as I can remember.

My parents saved a bunch of them. I use them to bring a bunch of food items from the pantry to upstairs.
