    The "one locomotive wonder", that's for sure. I watched the one the other evening you posted, pulling 126 cars, I just knew there had to be a DPU in there somewhere, but to my amazement, nope. And looking at the spring compression as it rolled by, there were quite a few loads. How one 4400 hp locomotive can pull that much weight just blows my mind. I'd love to watch that take off from a dead start .. what's not to love about a train .. and this one, 160 cars?, yes that IS crazy. Even if they're all empty at 32 tons each, that's like 5000 tons pulled by one locomotive. 🙆‍♂ Thanks for another good one, Scott

      I would love to see it get the ball rolling myself! That is a heck of a load to pull. That train goes through here every day too and it seems to be getting bigger all the time. They used to do that with the Lima turn too, but that one doesn`t go through here in the same fashion as it did a couple of years ago. I think this train may actually have replaced it.

    Scott, that was an awesome video my friend and I’m glad you got to catch the Tag Heritage unit because that is one beautiful locomotive so out of the four of y’all you JT and Joey caught that tag unit on the same day and Greg he wasn’t feeling good so he stayed home and missed it but anyway, my friend as always, you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one

    You're going to see more one locomotive trains. AI is being installed to control and modulate the waveform section of the drive to get more tractive effort and more evenly applied tractive effort with less back EMF. That's all energy that used to get wasted and now it's being put to use. Excellent Glendale action, liked it a lot. Thanks Scott!l

      I have heard that but I`m very skeptical of how long the motors will live with that cut up waveform pattern being fed into them. We used VFDs all the time and if the motor wasn`t rated for them, they died in a big hurry. I`m sure they have done their homework, but I bet they start replacing traction motors more often, Thanks P!

      Thanks Margie! I have heard the same thing too. I have my doubts though, being an electrician for 37 plus years I know what they are talking about doing from a control standpoint, but you still need horsepower to move weight, and I feel like they may see a lot more traction motor failures from burnout. Just my 2 cents! Lol

    Good made video, mr 1960gambit.
    Make my word in 10 year you see in the U.S.A. trains with 1 or 2 locomotives on the front. Now normal in Europa. Think that heavy trains with coal or ore riding with more locomotives but that for later. The newest locomotives or stronger and the diesel engines have more torque.
    Thx for this topvideo in Glendale Ohio 🚆🚆👌💪👍👍💪👌🚆🚆.

      I could see that happening here, but at what cost to the railroads? That is going to be the determining factor. If the new stuff costs more than the fuel they are using in the locomotives hey currently run, then you won`t see it happen because profit outweighs everything here. Thanks Roelof!

    Scott that was 28 not 26 she had amazon boxes on her! ad i guarantee you the one horse wonder had helpers coming out of Queensgate otherwise she'd stalled out on that hill she was at least 4,000 to 5,000 tons hell those 3 bay covered hoppers are 140 tons when loaded!! and another who the hell is doing all the welding!!

    • @1960gambit
      @1960gambit  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Actually, it was 26C. I was following it on the heritage app all the way from Chattanooga and the crew also called out 26C when they called out the Glendale signal. They must be putting those boxes on both trains now. As far as the single locomotive train. I saw it leave the yard on the railcam and it didn`t have a pusher that you could see. They might have added one further up in the yard, but I never saw one on the camera. CSX is famous here for underpowering their trains. They used to do it all the time on the Midland Sub back in the day.

      not since the 60's at the latest, the meat industry has changed there's no big central plants like they used to be in killago or Cincinnati anymore today it's smaller meat packing plants that are spread out around the country where it's easier and cheaper to use semi's to move the livestock.
