This is by far the most impressive photography video that I have seen on TH-cam. I couldn't take my eyes away from the clip. You're such a talented photographer and model. This is also the first time I've seen a photographer shoots herself. The Sony app on the phone is simple yet very efficient. Perfect!
i already loved you, but now, after seeing that you let your sweet cat keep "her" blanket and worked around her? now i ADORE you!!! ☺ such sweetness. Oh, and also great content!! ;)
Creative stuff !!! All are nice, but my favorites were the first ones in the harsh sunlight with the triangle of light on the wall. I'm a sucker for angles.
I love your vids about self-portraits, they’re so inspiring! You’re not only a great photographer but also model!!💛 Btw, what Joby tripod are you using? Is it worth buying for traveling?
i love when you're using the lensbaby omni filter! i fell in love with it since your review, but still couldn't get my hands on it. great video as always, julia ♥
I really learned a lot on how you play with sunlights and your creative framing :) And also the way you explain your ways about photography makes it really simple and easy to understand for a newbie like me. Thank you so much!
The close up of your dress on your face actually looks like Edward’s vampire skin when he comes in the sunlight - from twilight! It’s actually pretty cool!!😍
I'm glad to seeing you using that camera! I have the Sony a6400 but I need more lenses. My favorite photos were the ones with the rainbow sparkles * _ *
Yep I was really pleasantly surprised! It felt like my A7III in a crop body, I'm going to create a comparison video about these 2 bodies really soon too :)
@@juliatrotti Would love to see more ❤️ I know you're a portrait photographer but is there a chance you can sneak in some landscape or seascape shots in that video as well. just a humble request since these happen to be my fields of interest 😊Thanks in advance!
I consider myself a beginner with a really nice camera. (A7III) I absolutely love your videos for inspiration, insite, and your love of"natural light".
Loved these ideas Julia - went to Spotlight today to grab some sequin fabric, and got some pretty strange looks - especially after insisting the fabric was in fact for me not my daughter :)
Loooove Julia!!! all of these shots were so stunning! I just realised why isn't 5sec timer a thing on more cameras!? 2sec is too short and 10 is too long haha.
These were such cute ideas! Also, love how considerate you were of your cat lol. Which speaking of, I'd love it if you did some pictures with or of your cat! I've been taking a LOT of photos of my cat while I've been staying inside and it's been really fun and challenging. I know it's not really what you do, but just a thought :) Lovely content as always!
Thank you so much! Haha she never wants to be in my videos so I wanted to make the most of it that she decided to fall asleep right there 😂 and yesss I would love to do that!! I've been taking lots of photos of Evie during this time as well so a video about that would be fun.
Yet another good video. I always wanted to know how to take pictures in front on the mirror. With the bts this makes it easier for me to understand. Thank you so much for uploading and sharing your creative ideas!
Thank you! Yeah I was really excited to use this camera as I noticed a lot of people who watch my videos use Sony crop bodies, will definitely make some more videos with this setup :)
Julia Trotti did they send you an a6100? I’d love to see that one! I’m interested in getting that for filming... currently I’m using a Sony A7 mark 1, and the autofocus during video is unreliable.
Loved it. I don´t know why but the last ones are always my favorite. Superb portraits. Great content. Bring more this creative vídeos. Thank you Julia awesome work. 🍀🌻
I always appreciate your videos. They are so straight-forward without a ton of jargon which is super helpful. I love that you're using the a6600 since that's what I have. I have a question, I was trying to do self-portraits with the Sigma 30mm 1.4 with interval shooting and the focus was way off. I'm thinking the depth of field was just too narrow, but I'm wondering if you would ever use interval shooting instead of the app/self-timer? If you use the interval shooting, how does the focus do for you?
Thank you so much, that makes me really happy to hear 😊 I've done interval shooting before which is really handy, I didn't want to use it for these self portrait videos as I don't think that's a feature available in a lot of cameras so wanted to keep it more simple/achievable. I can't remember but I don't think it re focuses when doing interval shots, which is maybe why you have a lot OOF shots? I would personally bump up the aperture so it's not as shallow and then try to keep myself at the same distance from the camera for that set of photos with interval shooting - hope that helps!
Thank you!! I bought it many many years ago so I don't have a link for it anymore unfortunately. I want to order some new ones though, so when they arrive I'll leave links for them in my future videos :)
Julia Trotti hey sorry for strange reply but ur photography help did help me out and I could figured out my own style and I could post it on Instagram too.... Tnx for ur advice. Kinda now I can start from now self photography... Tnx
Excited to see you getting the hardware hookup with Sony. That said, the Sony APS-C lenses are kinda meh overall with a few nice standouts like the new 16-55 f2.8. The Sigma 16, 30 and 56 f1.4 really have made the A6K series shine for those who like primes.
I own both the Sigma 16 and 56, and the Sony 35. Since I am not a typical prime shooter I use them very seldom. The Sony 16-70 Z have been what I used 90%of the time. It's rather weak, Two months ago I bought the 16-55 2.8, due the corona situation I have not taken many pictures with it yet.
Can I please have some help? I connected my a7ii to the imaging edge app. Is there any way I can shoot in raw? It lets me shoot raw + JPEG but it gets exported as a jpeg. I’ve always shot with raw and it’s really all I know so I don’t know what I’ll lose if I shoot jpeg besides quality
Unfortunately it will only shoot in jpg if you wish to save the images directly to your phone. I was saving my photos to the SD card in my camera so I was able to have raws that way :)
Julia Trotti Ohhh okay thank you!! So you took the pictures on the app and got them off the SD card onto your computer I’m assuming? This app is so confusing and frustrating sometimes
Hey julia i am totally confused 😕 between 200d ii vs 77d vs m50 ...which camera to buy? Or rather than canon... Can i buy nikon d5600 .... Help me please
Unfortunately I haven't used any of those cameras before so I can't really give you an educated opinion :( My best advice is to watch as many videos as you can on each camera and look at the example photos to see what you like best/what would suite what you want to shoot the best. Good luck!
Hello! Thank you for this video! it would be great if you shot a video about Sony 6600 in conjunction with a 18-35 sigma lens, if you have one) I was interested to see how Sony autofocus works with this lens.
Maybe you can do a macro vid if you haven't already? I was looking at your lens collection there and notice you don't have a dedicated lens for that. I'd assume you do some macro at your weddings, so it would be nice to see what strategies you employ if/when the need arises :)
Ooh that would be really interesting and something different from me! I actually don't really do much macro stuff at weddings, shots of the rings and jewellery I like to do more of a set up for that rather than just getting in super close to the rings. But I would love to give this a go!
Great video, not only a very talented photographer but a beautiful model. I've loved these self portraits videos. What phone software do you use to remotely take the photographs, is it Sony Imaging Edge Mobile?
Just got a A6400 and a Sigma 30mm lens! These videos are inspiring!
yes. I love seeing people use gear that I can actually afford. :D
I don't see where this camera is affordable 😅. But I'm glad you can afford it :)
If you can afford this you can definitely afford a7lll as well so go for a7lll if you intend to buy one.
