      Sometimes as Black folks we have to come up through the corporate structure to make an impact for Black folks.
      It will take a longer time to have to help them though rather than the way Dr. Umar is creating an immediate impact once the school is opened.
      Each way, Dione's or Umar's are both noble and neither should be criticized negatively. Yuh 💯

      @dougedoug2105 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      He wasn’t, plain and simple. Because he’s committed to flaw finding and defending his flawed indoctrinated belief system. I on a personal level felt as though his body language and overall disposition towards Dr. Umar was disrespectful. It’s almost as if he himself, a black man, needed to be convinced that another black should be worthy of his respect, and not solely on the basis of him being his brother by race. That’s a problem because he wouldn’t have done that to a white man.
      It’s like two identical homes, both brand new construction, but one being built in a predominantly white neighborhood and the other being built in the predominantly black one. And with all other things being constant, the one in the black neighborhood being sold at a cheaper price. It implies that there’s a notion of the black one being inherently less valuable even though the white one was never appraised.
      So yes I’m asking you for tangible evidence of your accomplishments and credentials. But what I’m really asking you is: Tell me who are the notable white people who say that I should believe what you’re saying is to be true, or who give me permission to believe what you say to me to be true over them and what they tell me to do. He’s not a free thinker and that’s what’s so problematic and it’s what’s been done to him by design.
      Men like that although well intentioned are not good for the race. Because they go out of their way to defend white people and their racist belief system by behaving hostily towards and going out of their way to discredit other blacks; That’s a violation. People of other races uphold & support one another more often than not solely on the basis of race, and they remain ahead. Blacks refuse to do this, yet we forever remain behind. That’s a problem.

      Well when did Deion EVER say he went to Jackson to be a savior, start a fire under hbcu? He said he wanted to coach and mold young men into responsible, God fearing adults and maybe help turn out a pro athlete. While I agree with setting the stage and turning our black athletes to HBCUs and them helping each other, the issue is the opportunity for exposure. Most of the gyms, weight rooms, fields and equipment are all subpar. So the up and coming athletes want the bigger stages, and the state of the art equipment that comes with it bc they're already set up for success. But it doesn't have to stop with Deion. Why can't MJ take NC Wilmington basketball from here? Why can't Barry Bonds go take Grambling baseball. Ok Dr Umar, you're disappointed Sanders didn't haytye same drive as you,BUT what he did for J State should not be discounted. And I also advise you to listen about how Jackson treated him and the lies they told and the money they promised and his home and office that was burglarized. You ever think that maybe just maybe those also played into this decision

    • @Celebscandal
      @Celebscandal 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      @@Fdg1105 I am not gonna lie. You are making a lot of great points. What I got from Dr Umar was, he's trying to make a point about how most successful blacks are only for themselves. Yes he's disappointed in Deon because it was probably a missed opportunity to take J State to the next level. But forget about Deon and think about other successful blacks (Jay-Z, MJ,Robert Smith, Oprah etc. ) who are not doing anything to implement a system that could help black kids. That's what he's referring to.

Yes, I’m a doctor who graduated from a PWI but after I got my fancy degree, I opened an all black mental health center that employees over 50 black professionals and 100’s of black patients receiving treatment for intergenerational trauma that we as a people suffer from. And he’s 100% about Dion..Dion is only looking out for his kids and himself and family now that is OK. He just not one of those people that look after black kids. And the doctor is correct. That’s BS. Dr. Umar has received MILLIONS in donations for that school. He has been “close to opening” for the past 7 years. Just because he’s good at speaking doesn’t mean what he’s saying is true. He’s talking about helping black families whose children are being expelled from school and how much he’s for black people, but what he left out is that he charges those families for a consultation to LOOK at the report cards, progress reports and school recommendations with no resolutions to the issue. He’s talking about what Deion had the ability to do and him leaving JSU but Dr. Umar does not have any degrees from an HBCU. He said Deion wanted to prove to white people that he can coach white kids but the Colorado football team is 98% black students and his coaching staff is 98% black. We always talk about the lack of black coaches at the professional and collegiate levels but when one is given the opportunity we expect them to turn it down. Would you turn down a $5 million a year offer? Let’s be honest. JSU wasn’t even honoring the contract with Deion and let’s not talk about how black people were stealing his belongings out of his office. He brought attention to HBCU’s, funding and games are still being broadcasted on major networks. He did his part. It’s not his responsibility to save every HBCU in the country. For someone who says he's about the black cause, he sure has lots of criticism for his brothers and sisters on the path they chose to accomplish their goals. Sounds like he's hating on Deion because he chose a different path to achieve his goals of teaching, coaching, and developing his kids. Once the issues with the funding irregularities at JSU became known, he had to leave. He stayed focused on Deion going to a white school when he should thank him for laying the blueprint for others to follow at HBCU sports. Umar himself would have left for Colorado if he was in the same situation. Umar is a clown and just uses platforms like this to point fingers when he himself has well documented challenges regarding fundraising for his school. This is the reason why our black community doesn't support him financially. I have proudly donated to several HBCUs and related programs for years. I will never give Umar a single cent. I am well connected and will encourage my networks to do the same. Umar is a Dr. John Henrik Clarke wannabe.

    In my opinion, Deion is one person. Deion did a lot for JSU. He can't cure all of the hbcu's problems alone. Deion I believe even tried to get an investigation going to discover why the funds of JSU were being incorrectly allocated that would expose the top black people who are successful to be a few and working to be the few to keep the majority from being successful. Some people that blame Deion for leaving want all the pressure on him to do something impossible by himself because it takes pressure off of more people to step up and do something possible that'll really impact and really become change for the majority.

    • @BoosterGoldEarth6
      @BoosterGoldEarth6 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +23

      See this where the outrage towards DEION originate from. People being gullible and just accepting baseless allegations from Deion.
      1. Nobody asked him to fix all Hbcus. He willingly volunteered and used that as his main slogan to brand build while at JSU. "I'm coming to level the playing field for Hbcus" Dude even attack Crowder and a FAMU player who transferred out for dissing HBCUS. Going to Jackson city hall and holding political rallies and all of that.
      2. Nobody was stealing dudes from Deion. Mr. Must be the money wouldn't dare let anyone play with his bread without getting his legal team involved.
      When Deion mentioned the funds missing. He referring to the 🏈 revenue being used for all athletics. He wanted to reap all the benefits. Which is not how college works bc of Title9. Every college does the same thing. Yes 🏈 ⚾ 🏀 pays for non revenue sports. He wouldn't dare tell Colorado to do different.

      3. Deion brought his connections in from Under Armour and others to JSU, yet JSU admistrators were stealing money from ticket sales, merchandise sales, none of which JSU had prior to Deion getting there.

Too many people listen to Bigger Pockets podcasts and misunderstand how the fine details of real estate work, most offers arent accepted, and owners tend to overvalue their homes. So buying a school, with is in the commercial real estate space, is incredibly hard, and there are more hopps to jump through to finalize the sale. And his black power persona rubs a lot of people the wrong way to where they won't sell to him. And he only spent 2 mill.
