Master of Puppets has odd time signatures throughout. The tempo and time are constantly changing throughout the song. It's the same when Metallica does it.

The tempo is important as a drummer, you guys are actually the tempo keepers along with the bassists. She is performing, on a piano, with no timing ques. She is also a performer. Tempo is very important both for drums and solo piano performance, it is just constant tempo that is not always necessary. She changed tempo because she wanted to, not because the could not keep a constant tempo.
I play piano, and I can confirm that this is just improperly done. It has nothing to do with ''rubato'', because this simply isn't rubato - this is not keeping the tempo in proper ranges. Also, it's metallica, which is solely based on rhythm and, to a certain degree, groove. she did it on purpose sure, and she is allowed to sure, but that makes no difference. It's quite objectively just not properly executed for a cover of metallica. If I play La Campanella and all I do is slow down to .5x speed every few seconds; not only does it miss the entire point of the piece, it also would sound incredibly a-musical. Credit where credit is due: she's good at making interpretations and I quite like most of the stuff she puts out. But this simply isn't one of them. And it makes no difference whether it was live or not either, it's simply not properly executed. A pianist also needs rhythm. Listen to fantaisie impromptu by chopin. It has a polyrhyhm, the left hand plays 3/4 and the right hand plays 4/4 time signature. It makes no difference if you have ques. Every musician should be able to be reasonably on-tempo. Rubato is changing the tempo slightly, but within the realm of musicality. Playing out of tempo is simply disregarding any groove and rhythm for no apparent reason.
She has other videos that proves she's excellent in keeping with tempos and what not. For this one on the other hand, she's just playing around, chillin' herself out. She would have done it differently if she were performing or entering a competition.

im not a drummer and cant play shit and the tempo is why i looked at the commits. i thoughts it was jacked.. at lest the first half
Pianists use rubato (frequent, smooth changes in tempo) really often to convey more feel. I'm a drummer too, I get it, but I have to study a bunch of classical music, and when watching pianists you just get used to it after a while.
I play guitar and it bothers me abit too. But really, it was played on a goddamn piano.
You know your song is a masterpiece when it translates perfectly, with a new life to a different instrument. It gives me a haunting feeling, absolutely amazing!
The guy in the leather jacket was just waiting to ask her if she’d seen John Conner.
The guy in the leather jacket knows what’s going on
"Here we see a classic tale of an oppressed metalhead forced as a child to be a posh pianist, letting out his true metal spirit.
She's a woman.
@Caleb *#* So I'm correcting him?
I really love your art. You're inspiring. I don't know if you know Elliott Smith, but I think you might like him. He was a great singer-songwriter and a pianist as well. Give a listen to him, I think someone like you would appreciate his music very much.
Teacher: Humans have 10 fingers.
Vkgoeswild: Yeah i'm gonna ignore that last part.
Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master Couldn't help but sign these lines in my head

That is freakin insane! Pure talent like OMG I've never heard anything like it, I'm so glad i saw this in my recommended videos
The way her hands surf on top of the keys during the first solo is just magical.

He lives in a clock
daemonsoadfan lmfao the guy who plays the piano

I play the piano, (certainly not this good) I'm 14, and I have carpal-tunnel so it hurts my hand, so I love watching Vika's videos, it gives me hope that, I can do this again someday.
_RainbowQuake_ one of my best friends in the world with a very talented guitar player and lost his hand in a motorcycle accident he still plays every day despite the fact he has only one hand don't let something like an injury bring you down and think that you can't do something just because your engine fight through the adversity and I'll make you a million times better
i have cts too. i'm a guitarist though. so far my right hand has been operated by a neurosurgeon, i still have a scar, but my hand works perfectly fine now. getting surgery on my left hand still leaves me worried.
More Gore Thank you so much for the motivation
_RainbowQuake_ do stretches, hand and wrist excercises.you can overcome it and get stronger.I've been there from playing bass.goodluck and I hope you continue playing

Would be scary if this played in an abandoned old house.
Liked and subbed. This cover gives Henri’s ragtime bogie a run for its money. Just amazing.

bragee yeah honestly I could appreciate the way they played but the acoustics sounded absolutely fucked to the point where I could barely make it past the first verse
it’s must’ve been so difficult to play the interlude melody and the rhythm at the same time. nice job 👏
Imagine how awesome it would have been if the people laughed at the end instead of clapping.
I'm watching this. Mouth wide open. That's breathtaking!
The people in the back probably thought he plays some old classical song.

in american we sue for everything,,, you invite a guest over to you home, say they slip and fall, next day you get a letter from someones lawyer trying to get some money,,
I think it's more about Napster being sued by Metallica back in 2000.
I am impressed. "Metal is not music" people just got a lesson in having an open mind. String quartet tribute to Slayer is the same kind of beautiful. Thank you to the artist.
