I get that guilty feeling when I don't particularly like reading a highly rated book too! You are so not alone. I always have to remind myself that everyone is different and enjoys different writing styles and ways of storytelling. They aren't all going to do it for everyone, where is the enjoyment in the reading journey then! Also, you're amazing and I love your channel!!
Reading booksandlala's favourite books? Reading your favourite booktuber's faves? Hmmm. I also had to double check my playback speed wasn't on 1.5, hahaha
Long Shot is amazing but I agree, you have to be in the right mindset to read it. I started it and didn't expect abuse to be part of the story so I put it down and picked it back up when I was in the mood and loved it :)
You talk so fast!!! But I love it lol I really enjoy your play by play of the books because literally the stuff you’re into and read is right up my ally.
I feel very similarly about A Lesson in Thorns, I think I hyped it up a lot in my head as being the romance to kick start me into romance because the beginning definitely had the creepy vibe I love. In the end, I gave it 4 stars but I definitely wanted it to be a 5 😭
yeah reading a lesson in thorns makes me nervous cause I heard the second book isn't good at all.. but I typically like the romance books you talk about so I'm gonna wait for your final thoughts and review on this! also... not enough cat footage lol
smut and kitties .. the content I'm here for 🖤 Honest question - from a curly queen - why do you straighten your hair before curling it if it already has a bit of wave/curl to it?
good question lol i like a smooth straight look from the roots to about mid shaft and then curled ends if i'm styling it (and usually i blow dry so i dont have to straighten and then curl). if i'm in a reallllly humid climate i just air dry my hair and go since i've got like a 2B curl/wave. basically i'm big dumb and particular about it. i think if i had curlier hair i prolly wouldnt straighten the top
Chandler, I know I'm a little late asking a question on a video you did back in 2019, but did you ever finish Long Shot? That was my best book of 2019. Loved it so much bought Kindle Version and Audiobook. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the title. Thank you, Barbara
Oh I just bought A Lesson In Thorns, I’m so intrigued by it...... have you read more of Long Shot? I read that last month and absolutely LOVED IT!!!! one of my favourite books of the year. Also have u read Born Darkly by Trisha Wolfe?
Thank God!! Everyone else has just raved about a Lesson in Thornes. I do not get it. Yes, there is some taboo sexy times. But I can find much risky things on kindle. This book just takes itself too seriously and I didn't like any of the characters.
chandler ainsley it’s called the story of an eye or something like that it’s been on my tbr for a long time and it’s 100 pages I feel like I could read it in a day I just don’t know When
Can't stand Sierra Simone's heroines. All that "OMG I'm too innocent and sweet to even realise what's happening to me but oh thank golly goodness there's a man to tell me what to do" reactionary bullshit skeeves me out. I got a third into American Queen before I quit. The only book of hers I liked was Priest. Thank you for your service.
I’m so happy I found a TH-camr who talks about books with smut because it’s my fav. SUBSCRIBING
You should check out Riley Marie's channel! She also talks about smutty books
You are the only one booktuber who talks about romance and smut seriously, i absolutely love you
thank you
Me: i should make a coherent and intellectual comment
My brain: wow that's a lot of hair
lol true
Magical smutty realism is a genre I could fully support!!!

Everyone saying they’re making sure you’re not on 1.5 times speed when I actually put this video on 1.5 times speed on purpose.

I usually listen on 1.25 or 1.5 speed but I actually had to watch the video on normal because of how fast it was lol
Lol tbh I struggle quite a lot since english is my third language 😂 i guess I could take it as a practice tho
Me toooo!
It's nice because it gets to the point! Doesn't waste any time haha :)

@@chandlerainsley thanks for the explanation! that actually really did help because i've seen other people do it that way and now it makes sense!

2:26 made my day.

Every time I read smutty smut - "well, I need Jesus."
Wtf the same thing happened to me with brand mondo😂😂😂😂
we all bamboozled you with lesson in thorns. i, on behalf of the entire internet, apologize
Wait so I’m not the only person who can’t decide if it’s anxiety or the caffeine I probably used to combat the anxiety? Lol
it's a vicious cycle lol
i think you should try reading one of rs grey's books! I would love to see what you think :) they are rom-com romances
i tried to read one and wasn't a big fan, but def wanna try another
Oh I just bought A Lesson In Thorns, I’m so intrigued by it...... have you read more of Long Shot? I read that last month and absolutely LOVED IT!!!! one of my favourite books of the year. Also have u read Born Darkly by Trisha Wolfe?
I also didn't like a lesson in thornes. I want to read long shot now though lol
I’m so excited to check out these books. -B
I love ironically reading erotica because I usually hate it, but it's so bad it entertains me...so I end up reading it.
It's a bad vicious cycle.
A Lesson in Thorns was not my jam. I finished it, but it was just too much for me.
love that house content 👌🏼🔥
KITTY CONTENT YES
You should create a goodreads group to go with the twitter 😉
i have one, just haven't started utilizing it yet. will probably do so for september :)
@@chandlerainsley sweet! Will definitely be joining!

i liked auden and saint ok but poe was too annoying for me. and ur right, it felt hella melodramatic
Bruh, I put this on 0.75x snd it sounded normal
"put a gavage on physical reading." As someone who gavages mice and rats for cancer research, that was really weird to hear lol.
it was kibosh actually i'm just shit at enunciating loooool
Hate pretentious shit....raven boys was the end of me entering that realm
Literally love when you do videos
If I told you about a classic French surreal horror erotica would you be Interested
plz. i almost compared this book to a terrible french erotic art film i found on netflix a while ago so i’m down for a book version
chandler ainsley it’s called the story of an eye or something like that it’s been on my tbr for a long time and it’s 100 pages I feel like I could read it in a day I just don’t know When
Hahaha. Is youtube pushing brad's channel. I watched him so much last week xD. And joana cena. And then they made a collab pwahha. TH-cam knows

@@chandlerainsley it was amazing
