    Go down to your local body shop to paint them, they will look a lot cleaner, have them do all the chrome moldings as well. If done correctly the paint won’t peel, your color code WA 105V is a simple color to match. Or spray them with raptor lining, you can tint to match your color code, or any of the competitors if you want that rugged look.

      Jessi Jaimes you can get the Bumpershellz in a ready to PTM as well. Color matching on abs is easier than trying to color match over a chrome metal bumper.

      I've checked with many many body shops and they will not even touch chrome bumpers. If your able to get one to paint them, they will not warranty it due to the chrome. Also, if your willing to try it yourself (TH-cam videos) good luck with that. It's not something you want to have to do over and over again.

    Couldn't help but notice on the front that you added LED fogs and behind the grill! Sweet look first of all and I was wondering what you used. I've been looking for something like those myself!

      My fogs lights are OZ USA LED cubes in retrofitted into Rigid Industries brackets. OZ USA sells a set of cubes on Amazon that have a diffused lenses which work well as fog lights. Here's my video of the install!

      Thanks much! Did you use the same for the light bar behind the grill? And where did you get the brackets for it as well?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Hatzl lightbar behind my grill is an Auxbeam light bar. Is made custom brackets from some scrap metal I had. If you are looking for a bolt on kit, Rough country sells a kit to mount the bar behind the grill without any drilling.

    I was skeptical at first on purchasing bumpershellz on my F-150 and wondering about durability and longevity of these but with your recent response to one of the guys in your post it seems they’re a good investment. That being said would you recommend these? I want to delete my chrome without having to vinyl wrap or paint anything.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup! These are super durable!

    Do these fit well on the silverados as well? Got a 2014 silverado, and do you think any medium sized dents on the front affect how these stick on?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would imagine the Silverado specific covers will fit just as good as these did. I would recommend them in a heartbeat overwrapping/painting

    Was looking at a camo version of these last night, then happened upon your video; might go with these as my 2015 is tungsten metallic and the deezee guard and luverne rails are black.

    This completely solidified my decision to get these for my 2020 Silverado custom. I want the Trail Boss look without breaking the bank. Thanks for the informative video.

      That are an awesome product and change the compete look of the truck!

    Awesome video! How are these holding up?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chaos Studios they were still on my truck when i sold it, easily the best upgrade I did the the GM. The lined version of the shellz held up nicely even in pretty crappy winters.

      @@WaterFowler41 cool. Is the coating black or more of a grey color? Trying to decide on this or the haircell texture for my 2010 Silverado.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chaos Studios it’s a bedliner called armourdillo, similar to line-x

  • @martingixxer4107

    You get what you pay for. They're $300 shells. They dont fit flush against the corners of my Tundra. They look better than the chrome but they're flawed.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These fit great in the gm’s and are way for cost effective/durable than having the bumpers painted or wrapped.

  • @cortevents4140
    @cortevents4140 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you purchase these with the texture or did you have that done after? I have bed liner on my vehicle (Rocker Panels) and I'm trying to see if this will match up to the Linex or if it would look completely off?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They came with the liner already installed. Ecoologicial uses Armadillo bedliner which is not the same consistency and feel as line-x. You're better of buying the regular black ones or PTM and having them sprayed by the same team that did your current rocker panels so it matches.

    Wow this stuff is really expensive 300$ just for the front bumper. No thanks but it looks nice just don't see 300$ it would cost less for powder coat

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can find color matching powdercoat that's a great option but I can't find a close enough match for the bronze alloy so I needed another option and since these can be purchased pre-sprayed with liner it was an easy decision for my truck. Alternative being a new bumper that is PTM which is way more $$ than I am willing to spend.

    These things are a big waste of money. I’ve had mine on for just over a month and they are falling off. Even after taking extra precautions to clean bumper to ensure adhesion. And of course, after that month it’s too late to return. Have them painted or powder coated. It’s worth the little bit extra cost and work.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Kazda just like painting it’s 90% prep. I’m going on close to 5 months and my truck is parked outside no issues. Clean bumper, alcohol wipe, heat it up and install. Easy peasy!

    • @cortevents4140
      @cortevents4140 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Something else that helps with the 3M tape are the adhesion promoters. I've put several items on my truck, the prep and then the adhesion promoter together are extremely reliable.

    • @MrEli730
      @MrEli730 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is there an adhesion promoter you recommend?

    Someone hit my bumper and left my truck with a nice dent on my bumper im thinking about getting this instead of getting a whole new bumper

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They just went through there first midwest winter on my truck and still look great! The bedlined version is a tough material.

      Water Fowler 41 that’s awesome I’m not sure what I want yet either that bed liner coating or just get them primed and painted but I’ve gotta wait I just bought some wheels for my truck lol

    • @GRANTKEEL
      @GRANTKEEL 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was considering these for the same reason. Bought my truck used and it had a fist sized dent in the rear bumper and I think these would be perfect for covering that up.

    Nice buddy, now you just paid for a dust,moisture, rust collector. Can't understand why some knuckleheads think flat paint looks better than clean chrome, it's there to offset all the paint on the body. At least your keeping the aftermarket garbage market alive.
