      You guys are visiting from Colorado, and you're gonna come to Red Rock Canyon. That's awesome! It is a slippery hike but totally worth it when you get those amazing views at the top! Thanks for checking out this video.

      @@adventuringoutdoorswitheric we actually just moved from Denver, CO out to Scottsdale, AZ. So Red Rock Canyon is so much closer now. We shortened the commute!!

    I bet that climb back down was just as hard as going up, but a real beautiful hike and beautiful area. It must have gotten a lot colder during the last push up. jacket on, hood up, love hiking in the winter. Cool video Eric. Have a great week.

    • @adventuringoutdoorswitheric
      @adventuringoutdoorswitheric  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually going down was much worse because of how slippery it was and you had to be extra careful. The hike is absolutely gorgeous the entire time which is a huge plus for all the hard work! There was only one part of the climb that was freezing 🥶 thankfully. The very top wasn't even cold at all which was a big surprise! I really appreciate you checking this out and thanks for continued support.

    Another excellent video. Is that some drone footage I see spicing it up? I am so glad that Red Rock is drone friendly. As a person well into her 70s with severe arthritis and a paralyzing fear of heights, the only ways I can ever see what other people see from higher up is to use my drone, or to watch excellent videos like yours.
    (Note to anyone reading this: drones are allowed in most of the fee area. The exceptions are the LaMadre Wilderness Area and the Rainbow Wilderness Area, both of which are on the other side of the mountains which surround the Scenic Loop).

      Thank you so much my friend I really appreciate the kind words. I am really glad you enjoyed the video as well. To be honest with you I do not use a drone nor have ever operated one in my life lol. The GoPro Hero 9 I use has excellent stabilization so it looks like it's flying when I put the camera over the edge. Thank you so much for checking out this video my friend!

    Excellent views. I did this hike in 2013, and like you said I blazed my own trail for at least half of it. It was wild. Looking forward to doing it again this fall.

    I think you took the old way up where it’s a ton of scrambling. I recognize those rocks, haha. I just did that today. When I returned down I noticed there’s a fairly new path that’s so much easier, it’s where there’s a little U in the trail (hard to explain in comments). Awesome video!

      It is a challenging hike with big rewards when you complete it! Las Vegas Valley is a mid sized metro area with a population of approximately 2,227,053 people. It's not super spread out like some places. Thanks for watching Craig 😀.

    Great hike and not a cloud in the sky, looked a great day, fantastic weather for October. Looked a canny pull towards the summit with a hard trail to try and follow but amazing views from the summit. It sounded real blowy a couple of times so what are you using to muffle wind noise on the Hero 9? Cheers Alan

    • @adventuringoutdoorswitheric
      @adventuringoutdoorswitheric  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a good steady climb going up that will make you break a sweat 😓. There was a lot of bad wind noises on my footage unfortunately and I had to cut ✂️ out a lot of talking scenes from the video unfortunately. I just ordered a Media MOD for my GoPro so hopefully that will help with the stupid wind noises! It's is such a beautiful hike and totally worth the effort! Thanks for watching brother.

    Awesome video Eric! Red Rock is such a beautiful area. Funny it has similar colors that in Capitol Reef 😊 The elements were testing you LOL The views from up there were breathtaking with all the different rock colors and formations. You are in great shape with all the hiking you've been doing. Glad it was better than when you did it 9 years ago. I don't see the turtle head either... Still, it looked like an awesome hike! Thank you for showing us all this beauty.

      Right when I started the hike I debated if I should still do the hike because of how windy it was. I obviously decided to go through with it and luckily the wind subsided after a little bit. I am definitely in better hiking shape now than I was before because of all the hiking I have been doing lately. Glad you enjoyed the video Alex and thank you so much for watching!

    Hahaha I guess if you squint and turn your head it can look like a turtle's head, but just barely haha Those views definitely seem worth the work, tho.That looks like some relatively intense scrambling you have to do, how long did it take to get up to the top??

    • @adventuringoutdoorswitheric
      @adventuringoutdoorswitheric  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I don't know one person who can make the turtle head out honestly. It's a bit of a technical hike and you do have to take your time with it. I believe it took me around an hour and 45 minutes to get to the top. Thanks for checking out this video.
