Excellent video!! Thank you for sharing. I’m in the market for a Titanic model myself. I’ve ordered a copy of the modelers guide to the Titanic and the illustrated history will be my major sources of information. Your videos, this one on the Academy version, and the 1:570 Revell version are my inspiration. I’ve only got room for one kit, and 1/350 is too big. So, if I may be so bold as to ask for your opinion and advice, between Airfix, Academy, and Revell, which, in your opinion, would be the best option for starting the project? Please keep the videos coming!! I’ve already learned much information for my future Tianic project, and look forward to learning much more.
@@williamault2490 Thank you for the kind words! As far as 1:400 models are concerned, I would go with the Academy/Airfix model (they use the same molds I’m pretty sure). The Revell 1:400 model has some characteristics that I find a bit odd, and it’s difficult to detail since many of the plastic railings are molded on and many of the windows are sealed by plastic. If you’re willing to get a slightly smaller model, the Revell or Hobbyboss models in 1:700 scale are more accurate in many ways than any of the 1:400 models. If you’re looking for a 1:400 scale kit specifically though, I’d go with Academy.
WOW it looks so good. Great job man. I just started 1/350 Minicraft Titanic and also using some photo etch. I know it will not look as good as yours but i will do my best :) Again great job 👏👏👏
@@782hrr I struggled with this too. I started by attaching the superstructure walls to the hull first, and then added B deck, A deck, then the boat deck. I’d also recommend getting modeling clamps to hold all the decks down while the glue is drying.
I know I’m late for asking questions given the fact this video was uploaded 4 months ago, but I do wanna ask, did you use a glass or reflective like material for the windows and sky domes? As I watch the video, the sky dome and windows seem to glare as you pan the camera around the model.
lovely build mate. A+
Excellent review and insights. I am currently building Academy's 1/700 Titanic, which needs significant enhancements such as those you covered.
Thank you so much! Yes I imagine all of Academy's Titanic models have many of the same inaccuracies.
Excellent video!

Thank you so much for the nice words! Good luck on your build, and I'd love to see progress videos of your model if you're able to make some:)
How did you handle the construction of the three part deck construction…having trouble with the way it’s placed in the hull…thanks

What colour did you use for the funnels and also u said the walls of the cargo holes where black is that the same for all cargo holes thanks
Hello! All of the cargo hatch walls were black and the tops were white. I used Tamiya TS-46 Light Sand spray paint for the funnels.
That's a great Titanic.What a great video! So cool!!!~ I have an RC Titanic!~~~^_^😅😊
Thank you so much! I love the videos of your model!

Hello! The windows were glazed over using Micro Kristal Klear. It’s designed to simulate glass and is very easy to use!
What did you use for the rigging
Modelkasten .047mm extra fine rigging wire.
