      The thing with TH-cam and the hurry is that you don’t want viewers to click off that’s why many people (not excluding myself here) are often rushing through trying to deliver the most amount of information super quick- that’s for sure the wrong approach and I am also working on trying to fix this issue but I am super happy that you liked the video and the pacing!🙏🏽🙌🏽

I know, that sounds a little disgusting but it looks even worse in real life! This just costs me hours and hours of sleep per night but, I hope he's at least feeling better soon! :D

One side a video, one side text. The two sides will be a 90 degree angle. I'm trying to move the 3d camera from the front to the side panel. Not moving the panels but having the camera move from front panel to side panel. 1st showing the front then move camera 90 degrees revealing the side panel. Hope I have explained so you can get the idea of where I'm trying to get to.

    Thank u for the great video! Can i ask a question: when i use this kind of speed ramping technique, and then nest the clips - i cannot apply a transition. for example, i have to clips, make a speedramptransition, and after that i want to use a another transition from the transition libary..what do i have to do? i nested the clips, but it still doesnt work. may u can help?

    • @SebastianFriedrichVisuals
      @SebastianFriedrichVisuals  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Wolfram! There's a few things I need to know to give you the correct answer, but I try anyways!
      Since you said you nested the clips I assume you created a compound clip out of every single one of those 3 clips (the transition from, the transition to, and the adjustment clip with the blur?) If so, then you cannot put a transition in between them for now, you have to right click on the first clip, select "open in timeline" and then extend the original clip in there by a couple frames, then go back to the main timeline, go to the clip you transitioned to and then right click on that and select "open in timeline" and on this clip you then want to extend the beginning part, then you can put a transition onto those clips.
      If you have compound clipped all 3 clips to 1 compound clip, then you gonna right click on that, select open in new timeline and then put the transition you want in between both clips!
      I hope that one of the answers helps you, if not, feel free to send me an email and attach a screenshot of your timeline with the speed ramp to: sebastian@sf-visuals.com
      you'll get an answer asap!

      Hey! Good question! So, you unfortunately can't save the speed ramp on those 2 clips to use later, but you can save the adjustment clip to use later. Just open up the "Power Bins" section in your MediaPool and drag and drop the adjustment clip there! :) This way you can access it in every project you're working on! :)

    • @SebastianFriedrichVisuals
      @SebastianFriedrichVisuals  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maurogutierrez there‘s a couple ways:
      1st and easiest: just drag the Fusion comp into your media pool, delete it from the timeline, drag it back to the timeline from the media pool, and from there just drag it into your power bins folder!
      2nd (more advanced):

    It would be nice if you could make a preset transition and just copy it to every next clip we want.

    • @SebastianFriedrichVisuals
      @SebastianFriedrichVisuals  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the thing with this transition is that you have too do the speed ramping on the actual video clip itself, there's no way (at least I don't know of any) to create a good looking speed ramp transition preset for that. But if you get used to doing those steps, you can really pull this off within less than a minute! :)

    Can I please get your opinion on something? I've seen so many people rave about how amazing the Sony G master 24mm wide angle lens is, but I don't recall seeing anyone talk about the G master 35mm. And I have a feeling a 35mm is going to work better for my needs. I just got my A7IV and want to get a really good lens, but it's going to be my only really good lens for the time being so I want to make sure it's going to be versatile enough for what I need. I get occasional paid gigs doing birthday parties, family photos, etc. but I don't go searching for jobs so it's pretty rare. My main need is to start filming music videos for my own music.
    Can I get away with using the 24mm to do all my performance shots and b roll for rap music videos? Or am I right that a 35mm would do way better? And have you heard anything on the 35mm G master? It's just as expensive as the 24mm, so I'm hoping it is just as good.
    Thanks!

      Hey Sam, first of all, thanks for your question!
      But I think I am not the right person to ask this question to, because I don't own a Sony camera, neither do I own any G Master lens. But, after reading your comment, here are my 2cents:
      If it is the only lens you'll get for a while, I wouldn't recommend going with a prime lease, neither the 24 mm nor the 35 mm. I'd choose a good 24-70mm 2.8 - that's just my personal opinion (I own the 24-70 from canon and I LOVE IT!) It's super versatile and if you could only get 1 lens, I recommend it's this one for several reasons:
      1. You have more options / it's more versatile
      2. If you try to do close ups from persons (rap music vids, family photos, headshots) they will look weird with a 24 or 35 mm
      3. It's easier to get a variety of different shots
      However, this is just my personal opinion! If you still want the G-Master, I'd personally go with the 35mm! :)
      I hope this'll help you! :)

      @@SebastianFriedrichVisuals thanks! They do have a 24-70mm g master, it’s just twice the price. But maybe it is worth waiting for. I don’t know why, but I’ve been a die hard prime fan.

      @@seriosmusic Hey Sam, you could look at the Tamron 28 - 75 f2.8 for Sony. It has good reviews.

    Al works, but doubt that I would use the term, "Super Easy" ?

    • @SebastianFriedrichVisuals
      @SebastianFriedrichVisuals  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Timothy! Why wouldn’t you use the term super easy? It might not seem so but if you‘ve done it a couple times, you‘ll be able to pull this off in just a couple of seconds, especially if you use the keyboard shortcuts!:)

      @@SebastianFriedrichVisuals Thanks for the reply. It just seems that the whole process could be automated more intuitively in the Inspector or Effects. I do not use the software often enough to remember all the keyboard shortcuts and need to watch a tutorial every time I create a speed ramp.

    And there it is. Why you can't create a keyframe for the clip speed in inspector is beyond me. I understand that it is a global clip speed but this is one keyframe line that has been open in every other editor I've used. Here it is locked away.
    I was stumped as to how to do this again and was too tired to look.
    I even tried fusion to get splines and keyframes and it is also locked out there. Not ideal. Or just not straightforward.
    Excellent walk through.

      Hey Alister! I get what you’re saying and I understand the point you are making, but I disagree, at least a bit. I know that in Premiere the keyframe section is right there and you can easily adjust the speed but I am really no fan of this and I can explain why that is.
      I can see that it might be useful for beginners that are just starting out having it right there, but for myself personally it would just be too cluttered. My point is when I am editing, I need the most amount of space possible, so I keep everything shut anyways (MediaPool, Effects Library, Inspector) - none of those panels are open during editing but when I need them I have set shortcuts to close and open the specific panels I need to F1-F5 and it’s the same for the retime controls and retime curve. It would really bother me if they would be visible all the time and to easily access the curve and controls I use the shortcuts ctrl+R for retime controls and shift+R for the curve - takes me less than a second to open and close, maintaining the most screen real estate possible - it’s just all ablotst creating and using your own shortcuts to make the whole process that much more time efficient.
      I hope you can understand the point I was trying to make here - also big thanks for the comment and the compliment man, highly appreciate that!!🙏🏽

    Who the hell uses the retime frame curve? I wish BM would just show the retime speed by default. There is no point in making it any harder than it already is.

    its so lame to have change the tick box, to retime speed when thats all you're using. this is easy bud definetly not a fast way to do this.

    • @SebastianFriedrichVisuals
      @SebastianFriedrichVisuals  ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean I can do it pretty fast, it’s just getting in the habit to know where to click - but I agree, this could be more intuitive!
