Imagine bringing 23 to 30 times the number of your enemies only to lose 80000 more or less own troops and fell only 400 of the enemies'. Must be quite the decisive victory for Boudicca.
Honestly such a great game. Despite how rediculously inaccurate to history it is. Bet all historians watching this thought "now where the fuck would Boudica have got her hands on those those elephants? Hmmm". They must be the ones Hannibal left behind in the Alps around around 279 years before lol.
Reading the comments, for those confused about the 'history' behind this game, it is based upon an alternate history where Rome never expanded as much as it did in OT, allowing the Celtic tribes under Boudicca to unite - this also included the Gaulish tribes. Rome is still a wealthy and militant empire, but not as successful as in OT, thus allowing the barbarian hordes gain the upper hand. Not sure where the POD (point of divergence) is exactly, but it could be from a possible Roman defeat at Alesia; an alternative scenario where Vercingetorix defeated Caesar. Also, many are wondering how Boudicca got her hands on so many elephants, but such a weapon didn't simply disappear from sight with the earlier defeat of Hannibal Barca (if such a thing happened in the universe of Ryse Son of Rome). Bear in mind that many fans of AH favour the multiverse: an infinite number of possibilities and outcomes - so Boudicca being in charge of a vast horde descending upon Rome (including elephants) is only one of an infinite number of parallel worlds. Anything is possible, take your pick 'n' mix, entertain and be entertained!

He left behind his Legion so he could inform Marius of the current predicament, thought about falling back and leaving Rome in ruins but was instantly reprimanded by Marius about abandonment and dishonor. The raw emotion in "You bring dishonor to Rome!" shows that he's determined to defend Rome to the end, even till the last Legionnaire or Centurion falls.

Even after tossing his identity away as Damocles and even after slaying Commodus, he is still a loyal soldier and will die defending Rome, whether he hosts a vengeful spirit or not. He and Vitallion are as fierce and brave as they come in this game, and it's such a glow-up for Marius that he returned to be a faithful Legionnaire to Rome.

I Love vitalian and it I love this mission cause you almost feel like your durning collapse and the end of not just the empire but Rome Herself and this is what made the roman army so organized and militarized and the most professional army of the ancient world and what made the Roman Legionary formidable and disciplined on the battlefield against any threat or the barbarian tribes of the ancient world no matter and no matter the outcome or size of the barbarian hords the legions stood there ground side by side shoulder to shoulder
if you were a legionaire you would almost only have to hold your shield up against the enemy and pierce your gladius from underneath inside their bellies while they would press like savages against your living wall, no fancy quicktime events and swinging around

Can i ask are the npcs just decorative? IV seen a Roman soilder and barbarian just takeing turns striking and blocking for the entirety of the courtyard fight
@@Crom_Apsotle Yeah but Hannibal was literally from a city in Africa so him having access to elephants isn't that much of a shock while Boudica is from Brittania which is quite far away from any sources of elephants. But yeah it's an alternate history so it doesn't have to make sense.

a lot of other things aren’t accurate too like some scutum being metal and Marius wearing an optio helmet despite him being centurion and his sword stabbing through PG’s segmentata at the end, also pretty sure u can’t fight like that with a scutum even if it is a small one
Well, there's a different historian's opinions regarding that. Some believe they bent to become impossible to remove from swords. Some say they don't get bent, just that their head shape makes it impossible to remove.
The game explained that she united with all of Rome’s enemies in Germanic regions & North Africa. Probably paid some mercenaries for some Bush & Indian elephants.
Years later people still think this is a historical accurate game?! God people are dumb this just like 300 the two movies base on real things but in alternative timeline not 100% accurate game because if that what they wanted this battle never happen really
