All my respect to Ryan, and I truly appreciate his videos! However, I want to share my experience, which echoes what I've heard from many hunters. While some use a 20-degree bag combined with a puffy jacket and pants, I've found that this setup just doesn't cut it for me or most of my partners. In late-season conditions, I would recommend that most people opt for a 0-degree bag and invest in a larger puffy from other brands. When the temperature drops around 0 and you're tired, a dependable sleep system is crucial to staying warm and comfortable. Keep in mind that the stove isn't running all night.
I’m in the camp of the 15 degree bag, and using puffy systems as needed. I think its something people need to figure out for themselves, because we all seem to fit in one of the two categories. I certainly have that stove ready to light up and get rippin the moment i wake up and reach my arm out of my bag in the morning though!
I run a very similar tipi setup here in the Southwest. Most recently a little goat head sticker got between my ground sheet and pad and punctured. That resulted in two sleepless nights. Long story short, pack a field patch kit for your pad. I will be.
Aside from my insulated gsi water bottle I use hydrapak water bladders for storage. I have 3 liter, 4, 6 and 10 liter bladders. They’re tough, lightweight and pack down nicely
Ryan, is that an older version of the hyperlight pillow? I noticed zipper is on the end of it and on the website there’s looks to be 3/4 of the way up now?
I do have condensation for sure. The key is the morning fire to dry everything before taking off for the day. The Peax sleeping bag has a better exterior that’s waterproof at the foot box which really helps

Practice is the key. Only spend a handful of nights outside each year and I find sleep difficult. The more you do it the easier it becomes.
This is spot on. I usually spend around ~140 nights a year in the woods, and he nailed everything for staying comfortable and also lightweight
Really been enjoying Ryan and his knowledge that he is willing to share
Thank you Ryan for sharing this great information Your knowledge is a Blessing to many
God's Blessings on all your adventures
That Hyperlite stuff sack pillow is sweet. Great way to wave some ounces over something like a Thermarest pillow.
Why size is the one he has there?

Great tip!
Thanks Lampers for the advice. How do you carry and manage water while out on the trail? I dont really see much on that topic.

Are those a new color peax gaiter?
