Great tip on the microspikes, used yesterday coming down frozen hillsides and muddy scree fields. I probably wouldn’t have brought early season but after watching I’ll be bringing these on most hunts. Was slipping and sliding in August and wish I had. Thanks Lampers and Go Hunt.
It’s great that you’re carrying a tourniquet, but if you have to dig through your pack to find your med kit, then dig through it to get to your tourniquet, you’ve wasted a lot of vital time. Tourniquet’s should be instantly accessible from the outside of your pack or kept on your person. Take care & good luck this season!!!

Great first aid: one item mia steri strips. Needle and thread are not a replacement unless you have much practice. Steri strips work!

Anytime I hear fire starter steel, Vaseline cotton balls etc, in someone’s hunting kit, I tend to think archery elk season is in September, aka fire season. Only a cigarette lighter to burn rope ends or start your stove but nothing more. I’m always afraid if anyone gets a campfire going we’ll all be running for our lives out of the woods. Great video, good luck hunting from the PNW.
When would you set up camp and when would you just keep pushing with a tarp and ranger roll?

What portable solar charger do you recommend? In a previous video for GoHunt, you mentioned a brand that you stated holds up, in your opinion, better than anything else you have used. I cannot find that video. :( And I cannot make out the brand in your video above. Thanks for your help !!
