I drill my hole a touch bigger than the screw so it doesn't grab the wood, then lay a piece of thin cotton duck between the plaque and the teeth when I'm adjusting it. Once I have it where I want, I slowly slide the duck out and finish torquing the screw.
I do not do taxidermy but do find it an interesting art form. Hey Tobin, what kind of sealer/ protectant could I put on a 30-year-old turtle shell I caught with my grandpa years ago? I live in the desert and feel like it needs something.
Just did 15 hand coats coats on a plack of black walnut. Now I'm ready to mount my 7pt cull. Thanks, brother.
Great tip. I also have had good luck with a toggle bolt
I found a skull at the park I work for and bought this exact plaque and was so lost on how to use it. Thank you so so much this was very helpful!

We don't put any sealants on the animals we do, so I wouldn't want to give and opinion and it mess up the shell. Super cool you still have that!
@@OurTopPinLife Thank you, just thought maybe.
