Looking forward to incorporating this wisdom into my process! Spore n sprout did a great video about controlling contams on agar plates so if i do end up getting any contams i feel like a combo of these teks would probably be a gamechanger

so much great information, thank you. untill i saw this video i was worrying about some particulates, and the fact that i put less malt extract cuz i tried to strain them. but now im sure it has enough nutrition, i def have at least 7.5g per 500ml...

You both said different things, she said you found that the low nutrient water agar seems to bring the rhizomorpic growth and then you said you go to malt, then malt yeast to bring the rhizomorphic growth you want ? So which is it? Thank you for all the great videos

Will adding activated charcoal for black background and cleaning a contamed sample work? If so how much do you prescribe to your water agar recipe? Bye the way you have a very informative and easy to understand technique, thank you.

This water agar idea sounds interesting. Do you think the mycelium is feeding directly on the agarose? I suppose, as there is nothing else, that it is possible this mushroom has agarase and breaks down agar to eat it. In that case I would expect the dishes to become more liquid.

hello, would you please share how to make a Liquid culture recipe please.. I've been trying to make a liquid culture from spore(petri dish agar)using your MYA Agar recipe into liquid culture(without Agar) but so many times failed 😭.
and if i want to clone from spore/fungi in petridish(i bought) into new Agar, is it better to do clone to Agar water 1st then to MEA then to MYA?
I'm hoping you can enlightening me, Please 🙏🏻

spore to water agar is best then the MEA followed by MYA. We have a short with the LC recipe in the description.

It’s very difficult to see the mycelium on my water agar, is that normal?

That can happen, that's why some people use food coloring. Funny thing, we just recorded a video about that.
