Thanks for taking the time to comment. I’ve been thinking it’s about time to update the video with more updated versions of the software, but people are still finding it useful and I’m glad it still helps.
Currently if you wouldn't be there i could have lost a tonne of data. I wasnt able to send the folders thru email. Thank you very much. Sad to see your last video was 4 years ago.
Thank you for this video! I had no idea that you had to do the compressed zip file. I always wondered why my folders wouldn’t send. Just sent a file with no problems because of this video.
Thank you!!!! Your video was the best so far J have a Mac and I’m trying to send a gmail. And attaching a folder has been extra frustrating 😫 THANK YOU
Yes and no. As long as you can zip it up, it should be able to send IF the file size is not too large. Most email providers have a max size file limit and each provider has different rules. Keep in mind you may be allowed to send a file from your email provider, but the receiver must be able to receive it.
hi thanks for the video. but when i compress and attach to gmail before i send the email im tryin to open to make sure the files are appearing , but it says it looks like the file has been renamed or moved. so is that normal or will the files appear to the recipent after i send them? please help! urgent!! thank you
Hi please help me to send zip file... While im attching file error coming like unable to attach becouse it is a folder. Please attach a zip file containing the folder instead... So please help me
Zip files can be extremely large. It’s your email service that will have limits as to how big a file it will allow you to send. If your files is too big, you will need to do a service like onedrive or google drive.
Asura Soul Your welcome and thanks for the comment! Hope it helped. Due to COVID I have a little time now and will be finally updating this tutorial on windows 10. There are a lot of other cool tools in gmail that I am thinking of doing as well. Stay safe!
Hi Tumul, I am not sure why you're getting that message. I did a test on 2 different gmail accounts with creating different zip files (one from a folder and another by combining files) for each. Both times I had no problem sending the zip files. I am wondering if you or the receiver have a firewall or filter that blocks any incoming or outgoing zip files? Unfortunately, zip files in the past were often used to send viruses, so highly secure network admins at places that store really sensitive information like financial institutions will have blocks on zip files in place. You will have to use a service like dropbox or google drive to see if that will work.

Well the reason behind that is your attachment includes a exe file.Google doesn't allow sending exe files because they can be the cause of spreading virus. So remove the exe file and send the zip file. :)
Thank you for this helpful video. It's been 12 years since I last zipped a folder to an email, so I appreciate your guidance.

You only need to compress your folder the same way. It does not matter what do you use, so it IS helpful.

Thanks Chris! I just used my Yahoo account to email the zip files. Works great.
So can we send any type of file with this method ?
Yes and no. As long as you can zip it up, it should be able to send IF the file size is not too large. Most email providers have a max size file limit and each provider has different rules.
