Leon's takedown defense and the sick body kicks were epic. honestly more impressed by the defense and his ability to get back up standing were the most impressive parts of the performance.
I was more impress by the pletera of cheap shots and dirty tricks he displayed.

Leon unequivocally should NOT be fighting Colby next. If Burns beats Mas, it's objectively him. If Burns loses, Belal is objectively next. Colby flat out isn't even remotely deserving whatsoever.

Edwards officially made it!! Because even if he was to lose every fight from here onwards, he has his place in the elite. Being a champion, and then defending the belt on home soil to a hero's reception. You gotta give it up for the man. Hard work!

When you look at what Edwards went through to get his title shot, damn right he ain't doing Colby any favours. Good on him. Maybe Colby should you know, earn a title shot instead of sitting around and relying on Dana White privilege? No top ten wins. Speaks volumes.

If you think Leon is scared, after beating Usman twice (who also beat Duckington twice) you are deluded.

Ariel, a little tip, if you’re throwing to the right step to the left and throw. Also you’re not very good so throw to the left side of the board (towards the 11’s) as this is where you have three numbers over 10 all together (and hope for a treble)

so happy for leon. ive been rooting for him alongside ariel for the past 3 or 4 years. i was one of the only brits i know who preferred him to darren till when leon fought gunnar. seeing him booed made me ashamed of uk mma fans but the truth always prevails. good always beats evil as khabib once said.

I don't understand people claiming that both for Dangerous Davey last week and Leon that a fence grab should result in a point deduction and a restart on the ground. 1.) It may not have gotten to the ground, or there could've been a scramble as soon as it got there 2.) The ref can't determine whether Usman/Assuncao would've landed in mount, full guard. half guard, side control, taken their back etc, so how can a ref decide which position to restart it in? Taking a point is the only fair way to deal with the situation.

What they are missing with the whole Leon/Colby situation is this..
UFC doesn’t really like Leon as the champ of the division.. just look how they dismissed him before the fight this weekend not to mention talking about it was a draw (DC), that Usman won (Weidman) and not sure who won (Dana) after the fight etc…
UFC wants Leon to fight Colby because 1. Sure, it will do great PPV buys (similiar to Leon vs Masvidal), but more importantly 2. Colby really is the best fighter right now of the names mentioned (if we don’t count in Khamzat). He has the biggest chance of taking the belt from Leon, that’s the truth and trust me I don’t even like the guy and the way he acts.
They not missing. These clowns hate Dana, Colby and UFC establishment as a whole.

UFC must have wanted Leon to lose so they put the first fight at altitude. Then they tried to spring Colby on him with no prep. @Leon you got the upper hand, beat the P4P guy, you could leave to PFL or other and say you are better than anyone at UFC legit.
If they wanted him to lose they wouldn't have put this fight in London ! Those judges were biased !

I’ll pass on seeing Colby vs Leon. We just saw that type of matchup back to back already with Usman. I rather see a different style of fighter challenge Leon. Colby vs Rakhmonov would be interesting to me.
I understand the mentality from Mokaev but if he is truly serious about his career he really should heal his body the right way.

Edwards vs. Usman 3 was an oddity. Usman was overconfident so he didn't adjust his typical gameplan (ex. wrestling and pressure strikes). Leon won the 2nd fight but for this fight he improved his gameplan to the degree that he won a decision (remember he would have lost a decision in the 2nd matchup). Usman might've had a chance to get his belt back if he would've respected Leon's potential and adjusted his game plan, while Leon showed the proper respect and humility so he worked hard to win.
Ain't broke, don't fix it. There was absolutely no reason whatsoever for Usman to go in with a different game plan. The only thing he needed to change between 2 and 3 was stay disciplined and keep your hands up.
Usman's gameplan broke Leon down in both of their first fights, so he would have been an idiot to change up what he's so great at. Leon was simply the better man
dont forget the altitude. loads of fighters were fighting on fumes that night. leon won the first round and won of won the fight if it wasnt for altitude.

Do you think hes capable of succefully switching styles (have you seen that before) and did you have something specific in mind that wouldve potentially worked better? It was the Dos Anjos fight that sold me on Leon. Wasn’t a finish but he picked him apart for all 5 rounds.

Agreed 100% with Ariel GC and Rick regarding what's his face not deserving a title shot and that it can't be about who has the belt there has to be some meritocracy.
