The augment Blazing Pillage will also allow you to regain shields even against the Infested, since the augment give you a flat shield recovered increase.

Incursions are great for 2 things, there usually are people running them in open squad, so it's an easy and fast way to get Steel Essences. And it serves as a "taxi", meaning you discover the node it takes place on even if you didn't get to that planet yet. I unlocked most of the Steel Path star chart that way, there was no rush anymore, at that point it's just a bit of rank mastery XP. I still remember my first venture into Steel Path - normal Rhino and Broken War. It wasn't pretty, it wasn't the fastest, but it got the job done quite alright :)
I beat most of the steelpath missions with kullervo , build was a variation of thekengeneers kulervo with valkyr helmnith, and orthos prime with build from mhblackey, the rest were defence missions which i did with protea granade build, and intreception missions with limbo
Watching this made me realize that I am ready for steel path. I have most of the galvanized mods, considerable helminth builds on some frames for survivability and regular path has become very easy, almost mundane. Time to step up!
Thanks for the prep/pep talk! I’m getting ready for steel path soon myself! Here’s my Loadout. Rhino Prime Ocucor w/ sentient surge Xoris w/max influence I’m comfortably in the mid game I feel now. When I first encountered Steel Path, I was in no way ready for it because I hardly invested in any of the weapons I had...until I stumbled on Protea Prime. I feel that her alone can clear the entirety of the star chart on SP and a good majority of those nodes WITHOUT a weapon of any kind. There are some exceptions though...I built mine around her fire turrets and well, funny enough, those turrets don't shoot capture targets. Still, she has damage (Blaze Artillery), survivability (Grenade Fan (Hold)), control (Blaze Artillery and Grenade Fan) and sustainability (Dispensary) all in one. I could not tell you how many countless times I've used the Grenade Fan's shield giving properties on Defense objectives or Excavators and it wins the mission alone because I can focus on other things while my target is safe.
Or use Nova, she can make enemies not only move very slow, but molecular also increase the damage they take, you can mod negative range so her 1 can give you 90 DR for longer duration, her 2 can nuke group of enemies, her 3 help with travel or can be changed for a skill you might need.
Tip for steel path on anything that isn't interception or deimos bosses: Use Mag bubble with Nataruk and grind hordes of enemies into dust with ease. Just watch out for those toxin eximus.
@@lookalike4805 actually sentients are the easiest of the ones you listed to take down with bubble. For demolysts, I just spam bubble, and I also use Mag's armor strip capabilities to weaken them. Most of the older bosses don't have ability resistances. My tip was just for 90% of the steel path content that doesn't really have a special strategy to it.
I really really like your way to talk and give information it somehow is very soothing for me and helps me find sleep❤️while i really like that you give me very valuable info in any video i watched from you thanks for your work really😁🙌🏼
if i remember correctly back when SP first launched, we didnt have the galvanized mods, nor did we have arcanes for weapons either. I remember struggling quite a bit with teh current gear we had at the time. but it was because of those hurdles DE made all those new implements and made the power scaling more fun
@@GAMEPRO24X in Theory Maybe... In Any Case I was just Clarifying the Double Drop Part because I'm Tired of Explaining to people that Steel Path doesn't have a Resource Booster.
Tip : dont rush steelpath -get good mods. -if you're in a group, try not to think abt killing, but surviving. Most of the time you'll get some wukongs on your team killing the ads when you just started aiming at the enemies. The jump when you could do really high lvl mission will feel really good after taking your time. One thing that sometimes can make me a little bit eh in certain SP mission it felt like playing 'The reckoning' in Destiny. You're too strong that the only way to kill you is throw a dozen of enemies at you. Thats where aoe damage comes in. And get blinded by all the lights from all the abilities that you dont know what you're shooting at.
Thank you for you're words of increments. I have been playing warframe my own child hood, well starting in like 2010 or so. lolz anyway in all that time have been dredging steel path because i saw it as the place of people who know what there doing and tryhards. I have forgotten the ways of the tenno. The struggle to farm that thing you need to bet that next railjack or planet boss. that struggle to learn what you need to get past the next enemy immunity. it will be a long road but one day i will clear the steel path star chart as well.
I would like to add that a stationary Warframe will die a lot, even with the perfect build for that specific player. A moving target is harder to be shot and with last shots taken the less you'll die. Practice your movement a lot and stay alive for longer
Nyx and Ash are also great for steel path, Ashe with arcane trickster and silence is basically always invisible and with enough strength and efficiency you can just kill them all. And Nyx has Chaos to CC a large area which is great for defense, Psychic bolts which is great to armor strip needing just 130% strength to full strip, and Assimilate on Absorb which will allow you to move without taking any damage. I have 2 builds, 1 working around max duration and efficiency with Assimilate, and another with max duration and range for Chaos, both work great just be careful of Acolytes cutting off your abilities.
Amazing tutorial, I wish I had this tutorial like a month ago before I brute forced myself into doing only SP. Also I feel targeted by thet Banshee comment, I did that, I saw someone doing milions of damage with her sonar and thought "that's what SP is (probably) about!" so I got her prime, used my 3 umbra forma on her and couldn't even do earth missions so now she sits in the shed and waits for me to get comfortable enough with SP to not rely on Khora
Back when SP was new, I completed entire SP chart solo with Nyx (and Vauban for Defence and Interception). Pacyfing Bolts locking entire groups of enemies while stripping defences was a godsend. Nowadays defence strip is less important and Xoris can obliterate half of tile with Melee Influence that can be farmed in non-SP, its much easier than before the enemy defence changes. Hell, even decently build Verglas with Contagion Bond can clear groups for you. If at the point you reading this Nautilus Prime is not available anymore, you can achieve similar results with Cryotra that is craftable and can be bought for standing in Fortuna. Healing arcanes can be also helpful, either Magus Elevate for operators or Molt Reconstruct for Warframes, depending on what content is comfortable for you (Magus Repair too, but it requires farming toroids, Profit Taker or Exploiter, which can be annoying). Use Specters to complete your loadout, with Styanax or Citrine specter being a standout.
Thanks for the tips. Personally I find it best not to rush things: get good weapons and all the essential mods, optimize your builds, test them in the Simulacrum and then go for it. I'd say surviving is the hardest part, because with the galvanized mods (and possibly arcanes) once you get the necessary initial kills you should be able to clear out the enemies without breaking a sweat. Also, if you have a good secondary weapon, I'd recommend using the arcane Secondary Fortifier. Not only it helps with dealing with enemy overguard, it also gives a part of it to your Warframe.
Also, Hildryn is a pretty good choice too for steel path because of her built in shield gating passive. And let's not forget that she, herself is a shield tank.
Also don't be ashamed if you just keep running steel path exterminate on earth. We all gotta start somewhere and testing your builds there will be a great way for you to figure out how to mod on steel path. Imo it should also be a requirement to have galvanized mods before doing steel path as that will just make it a lot easier. Prioritize galvanzed chamber, diffusion, scope, crosshairs.
no on the scope and crosshairs, instead go for aptitude and the like, since on some weapons they provide extremely high bonuses due to their circumstantial multiplicative damage calculations
@@bloockeed Scope and Crosshairs are incredibly useful on crit-based weaponry, and will make SP more accessible. Just because Aptitude gives insane damage on a stat-build does not mean that you should only utilize a stat build in SP, people have their playstyles.
@@quinn669 reiterating the fact that condition overload bonuses are just stronger than crit in specific scenarios. Its just another way to get big numbers, not really a playstyle thing, do what you like
Octavia is also good for sp circuit, sure you need to first be given octavia in the frame selection. But her ability alone can let you solo the first 4 round.
Oh i needed all this? Ive been tearing through with excal umbra and syam got kullervos helminth so i hit my helminth ability to get in radial jav for extra damage and light cc and i rip and tear fun fact kullervos helminth ability seems to count as a heavy attack and throws syams ranged attack out with the buff from the ability
Ahh yes, the good old days of clearing SP. I did it on release, and without any of those fancy tools. Let's just say, there's a lot of armor stripping and cheese involved.
Yareli+Loyal Merulina+850 Energy + Helminth ability (%45 energy filled at start up)+ Helminth ability ( health orbs give %30 energy and energy orbs give %30 health) 👍 + Torid Incarnon+Laetum or Tenet Plinx + Glaive Prime or Xoris or Rakta dark dagger 👌
You forget Nezha, halo shield and is status imune then with adaptation or even without and some strength. Halo throw for armor strip on tough enemies and firewalker immobilizes them and put mirages ability on 4 and your set. Easy tank mode
On top of the frames recommended in this video I cannot recommend Nekros enough Yes he is mostly used just for Dessicrate but he is so much more than that. Terrify can armor strip, he has his shadows for enemy distraction. Which with just 2 mods (precision intensify and shield of shadows) on top of your usual strength setup can make Nekros damn near unkillable with dessicrate paying for itself through health orb drops An early game, underrated weapons platform who can singlehandedly keep a defense objective out of enemy crosshairs
Lavos has some of the highest based armor in the game he can also use any weapon with his element mixing meaning he can kill any faction and doesn't need energy to use abilities. Also it's his favorite Warframe, but even if it wasn't he is great for SP.
The problem is that I feel like I have to overprepare. And at the rate I'm gaining Endo and what not it'll take a while to be "properly" ready. Or at least to feel ready.
3:20 I was halfway through thinking out some smartass comment about Banshee being better than she gets credit for, but then I realized that I've played her for a large number of my eight years playing the game, and that she relies on Eximus units to maximize her survivability, topping charts in my public squads when Eximus waves are a thing. Lmao
Early game: strength to deal with all the enemies. Mid game: control the level to make sure enemies don't kill you and deal with them easier. End game: ...strength... Because why control the enemies when they die in one shot dealt to 70 enemies at once.
Anyone always said don't rush SP. Then I over prepared and when I started to run it I could solo Netracells. Just get Rev a Phenmor and try everything out
The real answer is that any frame can be SP viable if you have the build components to do it available, but I still take issue with some of your recommendations for starter frames. What on earth is Lavos doing in this list? Rhino is honestly kind of questionable when it comes to starting SP. There are much, much better options available that don't require refreshing Iron Skin a bajillion times. Yareli at least has Merulina as a 90% DR, even if that requires that you live on a K-drive, which is its own detriment. Overall, the recommendations are a bit iffy outside of Revenant and Zephyr. Citrine has built-in DR and healing, for example, so I don't know why Lavos would ever be picked on this kind of list over her. Or literally any frame with a built-in 90% DR ability. Also, literally any halfway decently modded melee will be fine to start SP. Especially if Tennokai is also available. But even that isn't required. Back when SP came out I was still a newer player, but I solved it easily with Nezha (who has a 90% DR ability), Adaptation, Health Conversion, an unmodded Daikyu save for the amalgam mod that makes 1h nikanas get life steal, and a Zaw 1h nikana. Do people ever even use Zaws anymore? Anyway, my point is, I know TheKengineer loves Lavos for incomprehensible reasons, but he's not a good SP starter recommendation.
The only help I need is how to solo Defense and specially Interception Solo. After the new Eximus, I find near impossible to complete a solo interception mission of either faction.
I still wish they didn't go as crazy on the power scaling with sp. it's not a such a big Difficulty wall like you said, but it still feel like they very much skipped a step difficulty wise. Like, a fair amount of stuff that is too strong for star chart also end up being too weak for sp.Let's not forget that galvinized mods and acolyte arcanes were not a thing at release, and they had to add that bit of player powercreep because they just went too hard with enemies. personally i'm really not a fan of it's current state, mostly due to the damage scaling on enemies that just make less mobile playstyle very hard to play, since their damage increace exponentially while our defensive stats are static. I do hope it gets ouched up to be less extreme on the entry difficulty so it's more of a proper starchart continuation, because we needed the harder mode, but not to that extreme
@@VallornDeathblade my middle ground is veil proxima railjack enemies. damage levels witthin acceptable range for everyframe, but just enough resistance to not instantly vaporize under high end firepower. i'd still mix that with the sp enemy density. but yeah, Sp just did too much by creating some triple scaling that in no wway should have been okayed. level was increased, but also, defensive stats were multiplied by 2.5, and then enemy density was increased. There is a reason why Rev prime is the most used frame, and we all know it's not because his kit is out of this world

"galvinized mods and acolyte arcanes were not a thing at release, and they had to add that bit of player powercreep because they just went too hard with enemies. " its not true. DE added galvanized mods and arcanes for guns because melee weapons at this time outscale any gun in game.
@@kerozseventiel4383 I've been doing fine with Gauss, Saryn and occasionally others. I just did SP Kuva Survival on a void fissure for 20 min using Hydroid. Most frames can handle it if you play with a bit of care. Tox procs on infested missions are 100% bullshit though lol. My Gauss just falls over dead the second he touches green.
Sad Uiuin, thats like sayin "I use an umbrella not because it rain but because I dont want to get wet". The gap was there before, it just started mattering with so where melee became the obvious choice to survive. This is leterally the definition of "compensating for power creep"
Any other returning players coming back to grind after not hard grinding or burnout for 2 or 3 years😅 damn there ton of arcanes and new damage mods that my builds just suck doing anything higher than base content but thankfully the elements mean more than just stats so i probably need to lean more on that and actually start leveling up my faction bane mods(never really slot them in builds)
sporelacer with splat loader and haymaker grip, modded for multishot, crit and such it pairs really good with merulina’s innate stagger immunity and merulina guardian augment if you have access to it
He has a very good video about HCET and combining elemental damage. Assuming you are talking about the Verglas build on 10:20, the malignant force and rime rounds combine into the viral (toxin and cold), thermite rounds add heat. His radiation damage type is from the Radiated reload mod, so heat doesn't combine into more radiation damage, because radiation was added as an element, not as a combination of elemental mods.
I've been trying to figure out SP modding for 2 days and I still have not learned anything I didn't already know. No matter what I change, my damage output can't handle anything over level 100.
Me with my unoptimized "full damage" Mesa: Eh... SP can't be that hard, mesa's 4 unga bunga killed everything in normal so... Me in SP E prime: So I have to hold 4 for 5 ish seconds just to kill one grineer while they two shot me... the difficulty spike do be vertical.
Depends who you ask. I say handling Steel Path comfortably means you are not a beginner anymore by a long shot, but there are other people that say MR 30 is the tutorial, so I dont know.
I think that my biggest problem as a mr16 is that i never bother using forma on my weapons it feals like a tideous process since i don't have a "fast" or "easy" way to get affinity. (And not having any arcanes is not helping)
As the others said, run Sanctuary or Hydron with only the weapon you need XP for equipped. Also important is to run it on public, as team XP can actually help a TON if you have no other weapons on.

Tried slowly getting to SP after coming back and thinking "i'm an old player with good setups.i can do it easy." and then got hit with it being being harder than i expected. Now im farming helminth segment, xaku (to play) and arcadia flare.
I remember when arcanes first came out and never bothered to farm them. God they are like the most important thing now
@@OleNesiehaving spent the past two months grinding almost every non-relay syndicate at the same time after having spent the entire history of the game up to new war not really bothering and not knowing what im doing, i feel this in my soul. half the reason ive blitzed through leveling Vox Solaris is so i can get a 777 amp JUST so i can farm arcane energize.
Literally just started dabbling with Steel Path today. Great timing.
I honestly love when this dude solves practical problems
8:26 The Lavos glazing is crazy with Ken.
Thanks for the prep/pep talk! I’m getting ready for steel path soon myself! Here’s my Loadout.
Rhino Prime
Ocucor w/ sentient surge
Xoris w/max influence
I’m comfortably in the mid game I feel now. I’ve judiciously spent 10 Forma and wasted one Exilus adapter😂. Now I’m just collecting mods, learning new frames, and most importantly, not rushing it. Gonna subsume thermal sunder cause I adore blast! 💥
This channel is a huge help! Your guides are info dense, but understandable, and entertaining! You’ve earned my sub!
I Wana Be there see the look on People's Faces when They Try this on Ability Resistant Enemies 🤣
The Arca Plasmor works just as well with this setup
@@lookalike4805 oh yeah I forgot about capture targets lol. I just use laetum and that thing by itself is still OP.
@@nubmyr I was Actually thinking of Sentiments, Bosses and Demolishes...
There's Quite a Few Enemies this Trick only Works Once On.
The video I wish I had a couple of months ago. Thanks for this absolute banger of a video!
We Didn't Have Gun Arcanes and Incarnons Either so there Was no Reason to Do Steel Path Anyway (Other Than if you Enjoy Pain for Some Reason) 👀

Tip : dont rush steelpath
-get good mods.
"Be a dead weight"
How about you just farm all the stuff outside of steel path first?
What I got from this as a Rhino main is that Rhino gives you CC, Survivability and Damage Support all while having a free slot for Helminth subsume.
You get it
Thank you for you're words of increments.
Practice your movement a lot and stay alive for longer
love your videos man. keep it up, so much fun catching them when they release ❤❤❤
Oh this was perfect timing i was getting ready to try this out
Amazing tutorial, I wish I had this tutorial like a month ago before I brute forced myself into doing only SP.
This is seriously helpful, thanks TK. ❤
Exactly a video i needed, thank you!
Also, Hildryn is a pretty good choice too for steel path because of her built in shield gating passive. And let's not forget that she, herself is a shield tank.
Perfect. I'll have to watch. Builds are my weakness.
For those struggling on the open world steel path: me too brother.
even normal level cap enemies feel easier to me so dont get discouraged
The final part was so inspiring
Yareli mentioned, where's Sab?
Yareli Mating Press is what comes up in my head thanks to that.
just hit LR4 last week might fuck around and start steel path finally
It warms my heart that these days Zephyr is finally getting the love she deserves, both from the devs and the players.
Zephyr carried me in my early steelpath days. Now steelpath is just another mission type.
Man, I remember taking Umbra into SP for the first time and abusing Radial Howl and Skijakti’s invisibility to clear the mission because I kept dying
Ahh yes, the good old days of clearing SP.
I did it on release, and without any of those fancy tools.
Let's just say, there's a lot of armor stripping and cheese involved.
Now I'm accustomed to it, it's always weird to see how fast "normal" enemies died.
Power creep sure is something.
looking forward to an updated element recommendation for kuva and tenet weapons!
Yareli+Loyal Merulina+850 Energy + Helminth ability (%45 energy filled at start up)+ Helminth ability ( health orbs give %30 energy and energy orbs give %30 health) 👍 + Torid Incarnon+Laetum or Tenet Plinx + Glaive Prime or Xoris or Rakta dark dagger 👌
I like lycanths for the energy / health support, vorunas pretty easy to get too with the conjunction fissures these days
this was so helpful thanks
Tips: "use frames such as Rhino or Revenant, and weapons like Nataruk or Kuva Nukor"
Me: "this Tigris build is gonna be dope on my Oberon"
You forget Nezha, halo shield and is status imune then with adaptation or even without and some strength.
Halo throw for armor strip on tough enemies and firewalker immobilizes them and put mirages ability on 4 and your set. Easy tank mode
Me watching this having gone to level cap several times on sp:
Hmmmm interesting
LAVOS PROPAGANDA DETECTED
(Lavos is one of my favourites too)
My man had rime rounds and hammer shot in a low investment build.
On top of the frames recommended in this video I cannot recommend Nekros enough
Yes he is mostly used just for Dessicrate but he is so much more than that. Terrify can armor strip, he has his shadows for enemy distraction. Which with just 2 mods (precision intensify and shield of shadows) on top of your usual strength setup can make Nekros damn near unkillable with dessicrate paying for itself through health orb drops
An early game, underrated weapons platform who can singlehandedly keep a defense objective out of enemy crosshairs
I'm glad you didn't bring up shield gating in the defensive section, because that's very much not a beginner friendly way to stay alive in SP
2:40 he literally did.
Shield gating is not that hard, but feels weird
@@Dazllingston i never managed to do shield gating properly
I ended up overestimating steelpath and now it just feels like a chore with barely any reason to do, netracells are fun at least
Guess its time I finally make a revenant for sp. I use xaku and octiavia but it does get boring when I have the power of a torid just being unused.
The lavos bias is strong with this one
Lavos has some of the highest based armor in the game he can also use any weapon with his element mixing meaning he can kill any faction and doesn't need energy to use abilities. Also it's his favorite Warframe, but even if it wasn't he is great for SP.
Heyhey, Lavos is freaking amazing, don't hate on em 'cause he's right 😏
The problem is that I feel like I have to overprepare. And at the rate I'm gaining Endo and what not it'll take a while to be "properly" ready. Or at least to feel ready.
Ive pretty much done most of Steel Path with Banshee.....I feel called out.
Just got to steel path. But I don't feel like doing the missions again haha
Lmao
The lavos main is comming out in this video. Its all true but its still funny
Steel path first time i was using my operator tactically
I'd say the middle ground feels like Arbitrations. I can go for an hour in Arby Mot with a half decent team but sometimes SP still gives me trouble.
Any other returning players coming back to grind after not hard grinding or burnout for 2 or 3 years😅
damn there ton of arcanes and new damage mods that my builds just suck doing anything higher than base content but thankfully the elements mean more than just stats so i probably need to lean more on that and actually start leveling up my faction bane mods(never really slot them in builds)
Revenant, kuva nukor, tenet arca plasmor, praedos. Have fun
Man I still get my s*** rocked, If I slack for even a sec
Do you have a video on that kitgun you were using with yareli?
Only a hideously outdated one at this point sorry. It's a sporelacer secondary, with critical focused modding
sporelacer with splat loader and haymaker grip, modded for multishot, crit and such it pairs really good with merulina’s innate stagger immunity and merulina guardian augment if you have access to it
Thank you both, very poggers
use the stug
One thing I noticed is you managed to put on viral on top of heat with 3 elemental mods. How does that work? I could never understand that
He has a very good video about HCET and combining elemental damage.
The steel path changes have made doing it a lotttttt better in my eyes. No 6 million armor to fight true 6.8 bs
I've been trying to figure out SP modding for 2 days and I still have not learned anything I didn't already know. No matter what I change, my damage output can't handle anything over level 100.
Uh rhino with torid for general use and frost with torid for defending an objective missions idk I’m lazy
Damm i sadly was too informed and bought a Lot of good mods early on so i never Had the true new to SP Experience.
Is steel path the end of the beginner arc? Or is it something else?
Depends who you ask. I say handling Steel Path comfortably means you are not a beginner anymore by a long shot, but there are other people that say MR 30 is the tutorial, so I dont know.
question about lavos: if i infuse his 4 with corrosive, will the ability do fire + corrosive or only corrosive?
It'll deal heat and corrosive in equal amounts and apply 1 heat proc and 3 corrosive procs.

can you do sp mission with a team?
Absolutely.
As Kengineer said, you absolutely can. Though Public lobbies are scarce in the base SP missions, so I recommend a team of friends
I think that my biggest problem as a mr16 is that i never bother using forma on my weapons it feals like a tideous process since i don't have a "fast" or "easy" way to get affinity. (And not having any arcanes is not helping)
Remove the other weapons so the forma-ed one gets more affinity that would get split otherwise.
Just go to the defence on sedna. Best place to rerank you weapon.
@@arminthiart1363 Sanctuary Onslaught is also a good choice imo
Run Hydron defense. Without any boosters you'll rerank your weapons in 2 10 round runs. Always tons of people in public lobby.
As the others said, run Sanctuary or Hydron with only the weapon you need XP for equipped. Also important is to run it on public, as team XP can actually help a TON if you have no other weapons on.
