Hey I’m a fan. I appreciate you making meals for two and not too expensive. I am disabled and can only balance myself for a short time, so standing half a day in the kitchen isn’t feasible for me. You have really helped me today. Thank you. 👍🏻

I have bad knees and it's hard for me to stay in for a long time I keep a stool in the kitchen that I sit on while I wash dishes or while I'm at the stove or whatever. That's the only way I can be in the kitchen for any amount of time!

Want to add a little kick to your soup.
    Add SALSA
I put it in my Chile and vegetables soup. It is also great for when you don't have any fresh bell peppers and onion. The salsa totally works as a replacement.

We just defrosted the freezer the other day and I found two 1/2 pound bags of hamburg, and then you put this video up. What perfect timing! I love seeing practical recipes for two people, and liked that little comment about maybe for two meals. I cook that way a lot! Thanks for the good videos.

Hope everybody else reads the comments like I do these are some very nice comments to you Tammy and even if people aren't hungry for these right now these would be good things to have in just a couple of bowls in the freezer to get out on those days when you don't feel good or you just don't feel like cooking they're both comforting and wonderful meals my mom used to make a dish of stuffed peppers and wrap them in singles because that is what she got hungry for especially in the middle of the winter so do what you need to do but a little freezer these will keep a couple of months and by that time you'll have all this used up easily

Love it! Just like grandmother used to make and it’s been passed down to me! Nothing like a simple meal for the winter especially living where snow action hits the ground lolol the only thing I always leave out is the okra due to its tendency to get slimy lol my nana always fried my own

I wish I had all the ingredients ready to go as it's supposed to snow here in the morning which doesn't happen that often in Texas. LOL Ya'll have a fun trip and enjoy your soup when you get home. Blessings to you and Chris !! Love your videos !!

I really like the cooking for two recipes you have done. My daughter moved out 2 years ago. My son graduated in May 2022 and left for the Navy in June 2022. I’m adjusting but my purpose in life I have to rediscover now and it isn’t very easy. My son leaving has been really hard. I constantly worry with the political environment right now. I still cook for 4. Just a few weeks ago I cooked 4 baked potatoes…lol. I get out 4 plates sometimes. It’s hard to break the habit. I still cook way to much so I really enjoy the cooking for two videos.

Hi Tammy and Chris! I always cooked for a big fami!y, now its just me and my grandson. This was helpful. First time I used a can of mixed veg and leftovers for soup, it tasted like spicy V8 when it was done. I sipped the soothing comforting broth and used my immersion blender to crush the veg to finish eating it, so satisfying. I,m plum soup content right now. Reminded me of my gramps with the horse and plow, plowing up vegetables and us following behind throwing em in a box to store under the house all winter. Come late winter or early spring, I had to go down there and fetch more food. My auntie always said watch out for the copper heads, then I didn't wanna go anymore, but we had to have food. I don't know why we didn't dig a cellar, since it was tornado country. We used to live at Joplin, I'm glad we moved.

Walmart has a $10 small crockpot that's perfect for 1 or 2 people. If you're making a big batch to freeze some, use a larger crockpot. I use the small one to make chili for the 2 of us and it works great. Have done the same thing for church potluck using a larger one. May have to adjust the recipe, a bit for it to fit in the small crockpot. I use a lb of burger and leave out the beans.
Hope this helps. May God bless you, as well.

Smell-o-vision is ok, but I want to GET some right out of the pot!!! Can add some (all) of the drained juices from the hamburger to add fat and flavor. I know fat is being frowned upon, but some fat is vital to keeping the body functioning. In this case, I'd prefer the beef flavor over the equivalent amount of fat in butter.
BTW, I leave the beans out of my chili, as well. :-)
