God it's so weird hearing Sam do Scanlan after hearing Nott for so long. I know a lot of the players are playing characters that are very different to their first campaign characters now but their size is literally the only thing Nott and Scanlan have in common.
Its not something that actually took place on an episode. Im pretty sure Sam was just making it up as a joke. Judging by the reactions of the group they didnt know about it.
Grog was trying persuade/deceive Craven Edge as to why he wanted Scanlan to hear him. Those are Charisma checks. At least, that's my interpretation of things.
@@austinboylan5476 I believe it’s because CHA is the skill related to possession, and historically I think was the skill related to intelligent magic items.
So I know this is old, but what it boils down to in alot of fantasy games, Intelligence is the strength of the mind, Wisdom is the Defense of the mind, Charisma is the willpower of the Soul.
"As leading sword expert Ewart Oakeshott unequivocally stated: "Medieval Swords are neither unwieldably heavy nor all alike - the average weight of any one of normal size is between 2.5 lb. and 3.5 lbs. Even the big hand-and-a-half 'war' swords rarely weigh more than 4.5 lbs."
And a greatsword? Built for a 7 foot tall barbarian? While it certainly wouldn't, "Weigh as much" as Scanlon, it would be very unwieldy for a 3 foot gnome to wield a 5.5 to 6 foot sword
What about a blade that has drunk several million gallons of blood? Does Oakeshott have anything to say about that type of sword? How heavy is a sword that has consumed a human soul?
A "hand and a half sword" (also known as a bastard sword) were typically just a bit bigger than arming swords, and smaller than long swords. So I question how much of an expert he is if that's his example of a "big sword."
-Is it saying something?
-...no... Craven Edge how do i prove i am worthy?
-whaa?
Grog saying “wot” is great
The two best characters. Every scene with them is gold.
"Never know a gnome like you before" - Percy. I love that bit.
"I feel like Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams, and you're James Earl Jones! I'VE GOT A FRIEND IN THIS NOW!"

That and Sam switched shenanigan buddies lol. He ditched Travis for his wife haha
And
BIG SPOILERS
They both have secret kids
They also both hate goblins.
"Throw it in to acid, why don't you?"
You want some water to wash down all that salt, Percy? lolz
Perfect way to end it. "Ah, it went right up my nose."
+AFLoneWolf That's what she said.
A craven edge subplot supercut would be amazing. a lot of work i'm sure but its one of the best subplots on critroll IMO.
i think Fjord has craven edge.....
Krakenedge
@@geomeopeoleo1740 Thank you! "Kraken Edge" is definitely a weapon I'm creating for my campaign.
I just love Laura's reaction to the "Eiffltower" vs her Bathtub scene with Percy.
7:36 i love Grogs reaction! XD
Scanlan: (insight check) Not good, 7.
Grog: (deception) 3
Such a great exchange, thanks for the upload.
When Scanlan nearly died but they don't know it XD
7:25 - I love Scanlan :3
"it could be good , theres nothing wrong about being hungry"
I wish they did a little more with this subplot of scanlan sort of being corrupted by craven edge....
Butters Stotch more like scanlan corrupting the sword
it’s cool to see how most likely this translated into travis’s choice to play a hexblade in the next campaign
Best reaction ever: Make a Charisma check. Shitfuck!
God I'm so happy they're doing this in the show
"Throw it in to acid why don't you"
12:12 is golden.
Can't wait to see the scene where Scanlan gets an arrow in the next from Vex lol I was in tears laughing
*neck
+MonkeybobGaming i don't know if you've seen but it's already up!
+Shortlan as soon I posted that comment, I went to your page and saw it lol
i think the Craven Edge stuff is my favorite part of the story
Scanlan has a +7 or 8 to to charisma checks at this point how bad was that first roll to hand over Cravens edge
That persuasion spell felt like The Jedi Mind Trick
Grog is my favorite so funny XD 😂
Does anyone know which time was "that one time in Iman when we teamed up" that Scanlan talks about there at the end??

Oh the Eiffel Tower is 100% canon
I love that part oh wait they don’t know
Grog. You here a sword talking to you....is your name secretly fighter?
12:13 laura gets out-perved
Thank you so much for uploading this stuff, but do you think I could request you upload the part when grog is talking to cravenedge on the shitter?
+CisoSecond absolutely, i'll have it up at some point in the next day or so for you!
+SolarianAngel Wow well that was quick. Thanks a ton!
+CisoSecond alrighty, it's up! hope it's okay for you!
3:00 Why’d Matt make it a Charisma check vs. a Wisdom check/saving throw since those are the ones related to willpower?

@@bskec2177 Not to to disagree (I appreciate the reply), but then why have Scanlan make one when he tried to give up the sword?

I wanna know about how they ended up in an Eiffel tower now. And who was in the middle.
background music is pretty awesome
Does Taliesin know just how much he resembles James Spader?
I think with the size of craven edge and it being made of magical obsidian weights probably around 6 to 14 pounds
