MASSIVE END OF CAMPAIGN SPOILERS AHEAD It took 48 ingame seconds to kill Vecna, so it technically took Vox Machina over 10 times longer to get this door open than to defeat a literal god.
*DM:* "Okay guys, now you will face the destroyer of worlds, the blight of the multiverse" *Players:* "Yeah, we got this" *DM:* "But to get to him, you first need to open a sturdy looking door" *Players start sweating profusely*
Vox Machina: they defeat Beholders, Demons and Dragons in a couple of minutes, but it takes 8 minutes, three people and three spells to unlock a barred door, and Scanlan gets injured in the meantime :D
Starting at about 6:45, when Scanlan, Vax and the Unseen Servant can't budge the wooden bar, Marisha sums it up perfectly: "Man, Laura and Travis ain't missing shit".
+Mike Jones that's two unnecessarily rude comments i've seen on these videos so i'm letting you know that you are getting reported and blocked from this channel.
Funny thing is that there is actually a monster analysis on this door on Criticalrole stats blog page. www.critrolestats.com/blog/monster-analysis-door
A section of the book (The World of Critical Role) also listed doors as their enemies! It's even funnier in the audiobook (read by our very own Zahra, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn!)
Thank you kindly, sir. I was looking for this moment specifically. Dear god, the Legend of Vox Machina version is just slightly LESS dumb? Ahahahahahaaa.
I love this scene. This is just the stupidest thing that has ever happened. Scanlan got injured while trying to open a damn door. That took so much effort. I love it. Never stop laughing.
I'm watching this and thinking to myself, "this could have been a non-issue with the Knock spell, a 2ND LEVEL SPELL!! And they had to resort to Bigbys Hand, a fucking 5TH LEVEL SPELL!!!!" So much cringe, and yet so funny.
I just got into d&d bc my girlfriend plays. So she suggested watching critical roll bc we play ffxiv and talisen (percy) and Sam (scanlan) were both in it for the base game before it expanded. So I've been watching vox machina after I get to the parts in critical roll. I'm onnthe last episode now. And its funny. She didn't even know I love laura Bailey so much. I watched qnimes with her in it just bc of her. Fruits basket was the first I watched of hers and me and my mom watched it together so it's special.
The funny part is that statistically, the three most intelligent characters of the party couldn’t get a door open.
Lol where's grog when you need him
Welcome to D&D, where you can kill a boss in 10 in game seconds, yet opening doors take 10 real minutes.

holy fuck.....
Feargal O'Reilly this is my favorite thing about d&d omg
@@LazorJunkieninja that is the best statistic I have ever read in my life...
@@LazorJunkieninja Hope, should the animated series go that long, that the final battle against Vecna won't be that short. ^_^
It took 8 minutes, three people, three spells, and a few ounces of gnome blood... all to open a wooden door.
Then they went off to kill a vampire with a strength-sapping demon sword and an incredibly deadly necromancer.
the true boss of D&D: doors.
Or any other innocent objects.
And old people
When the knock spell doesn’t work
And Marisha just gets to sit there and laugh and the whole thing.
Doors are trying to dethrone The Dread Gazebo, as toughest monster of all time.
You can actually see a comment in the chat (at 7:00):
CaptSardonic: The door is CR20. It was made from a Gazebo

I love when this door said "it's doorin' time" and doored all over the place. Truly one of the moments of D&D.
What makes this even funnier, is this isn't even inaccurate unlike those other variations on the meme.
this video should have been called Scanlan and Vax vs the door
Now I realized that this scene will have to be involved in animated series xD I want to see it so bad
Season 1 episode 6
Its in the animated series
The Door will return...
loved sam's face
Anyone know what episode this is?
Angel Ford episode 29
Replace the word door with penis. And the beginning is funny.
Ill leave now
This is just priceless. :D another scene that needs to be up it the first time the black powder merchant it introduced.
Fuckin doors!!!!
Vox Machina: they defeat Beholders, Demons and Dragons in a couple of minutes, but it takes 8 minutes, three people and three spells to unlock a barred door, and Scanlan gets injured in the meantime :D
the most amazing description i've ever heard XDD
Barred doors are the bane of any low-strength party
"It's not overkill if you used what it took."
Worth.
When i saw this scene in the legend of vox machina i KNEW it had to be a nod to failed rolls, and yes, here it is, verbatum
I’m so glad they included this scene 😍
That's exactly why I'm here lmao, I knew this had to be a hilarious series of failed rolls
Starting at about 6:45, when Scanlan, Vax and the Unseen Servant can't budge the wooden bar, Marisha sums it up perfectly: "Man, Laura and Travis ain't missing shit".
Yes! 🤣
Grog: "So, how'd it go?"
Scanlan: "We opened a door... Eventually..."

Scanlan: "No! A door! My one weakness!"
That "how do you wanna do this" from Taliesen was amazing. :D

+Mike Jones Your an idiot

Imagine if Vecna was turned into a door
He’d be tougher as a door
On the contrary, the Divine Gate IS a door. VM defeated their second-greatest foe by weaponizing the divine form of their greatest foe.
1:29 "a scimitar or FALCHION"
~falchions and cunning~

Inanimate objects are the bane of their entire campaign. Statues and doors and others
Back in 2022 rewatching this after the recent release of The Legend of Vox Machina
Ah, Doors - the archenemy of Vox Machina.
Best part is this will be in the animated series.
Thy will be done
Took damage from your friend’s sword while opening a door. That’s D&D.
BIGBY'S HAAAAAAAAND!!
I can't wait for the new characters to come up against their first door :)
Well.....
There was a chair
Yeah, looking back, Might Nein didn't have ANYWHERE near the same issues with doors. :|
Taliesin’s HDYWTDT was amazing.
Shit like this is why I'm going to learn "Knock".
Owe your stupid idea cut my hand! LOL. Reminds me of my days playing AD&D.
What's ironic is it was a scimitar, which is single-edged. He could have used the blunt side.
GUYS WE ARE GOING TO GET TO SEE THIS ANIMATED!!
Pelor(sp?) Really didn't want them in easily.
One of the best highlights of this series. A classic.
I can't wait to see this animated.
Thank you kindly, sir. I was looking for this moment specifically.
Dear god, the Legend of Vox Machina version is just slightly LESS dumb? Ahahahahahaaa.

Matt says: “Falchion”
Me from C2 goes:
=D
Windows are no problem, doors are the issue.
4:22 oh no Sam almost said the no no name.
To be fair, there isn't really a problem with Tiberius, just his player, and this episode was from before he left.
Were they at the Midvale School for the Gifted? XD
"whattabout just a thunderwave" so good

I cannot wait to see this in The Legend of Vox Machina.
It was awesome lmfao
i'm a little sad it wasn't a 1:1 copy but honestly i'm happy with what i got
This will be animated guys...
Hey at least they didn't had to use wish for it.

the door wasn't locked, and I don't think any of them have knock
@@jonathangriffith4227 Knock works against barred doors as well.

I've got to say something. If you "own nothing" then don't stick the ad on it, don't monetize the video.
and i've got to say something to you. i don't. geek and sundry do. thank you.
